The customised Hi-Fi cable Ricable

Magnus RCA Jack

As we have already written in a previous article Ricable has the ability to build each customer their own customised Hi-Fi cable in many ways. This is possible due to the fact that Ricable cables are handmade in Italy, and therefore we have total control over them. The customisation that our customers can request from us is as extensive as possible, but with certain limits. These limits are given by the fact that we care about both the integrity of the product and the customer's enjoyment of it.

A customised Hi-Fi 'integer' cable

Our customers are well aware that the work behind a Ricable cable is not limited to its physical construction. The design is the part that takes up the most time. For some cables, this can take more than a year. Against this, we really care about the fact that every single series and every single cable fully respects the standard that we have set ourselves and that we originally thought up. The production line has to be unique, just as the Hi-Fi cable, no matter how customised, has to be integral to its identity.

What do we mean by "intact" customised Hi-Fi cables and by customisations that cannot be total? We mean that a different length from the standard ones or a braid of a different colour than the one foreseen, can only be an accessory customisation, without contraindications. This is not the case if you start talking about modifications to the connectors or an exaggerated customised length. It is easy to imagine the consequences when a cable from the Dedalus series is fitted with connectors from the Magnus series. Perhaps less obvious is the fact that a connector from the higher series Invictus, applied to a cable Dedalus, could also cause problems.

Dedalus Speaker Elite

The connector of the speaker cable Invictus is objectively superior to that of Dedalus. When it comes to Hi-Fi cables, however, the sum is not always the whole. Rather than obsessively adding, in fact, the recipe for the best Hi-Fi cable is the balance between all its characteristics and all its materials. Shielding, for example, protects against interference but at the same time reduces the risk of interference. specific electrical values. So a too heavy shielding may be intrusive in terms of performance without an appropriate conductor to support it. And that's ultimately the point: we do very strict tests during the design and prototyping of each cable, but these would lose all validity the moment too much change was applied.

Customer protection customisations

Not customising any cable indiscriminately is a choice made to protect the identity of the product and the company, but also the customer himself. Let's think about second-hand products, used products that have been available to buy for some time. directly on the site Ricable. Having "hybrids" on sale would cause great confusion, not only for us, but also for any new owners of the cable itself. But that's not all. With bulky customisations we would be forced either to invalidate our Lifetime Warrantyor to prevent access to the cable. at Ricable Upgrade.

Let's take an example

Let us conclude this focus with an example from a similar but different field than high fidelity: the automotive field. Let's say you're about to buy your new car and, after having chosen the right model for you, you ask the dealer for a few adjustments that go well beyond the expected options. So an engine from a higher car segment, the rear wing from the sporty variant of your chosen model and rims from another manufacturer. You will most likely be shown the door very politely, or the salesman will offer you what is feasible and at the same time as close as possible to your tastes. The good news is that, in any case, numerous customisations are available. Moreover, the Ricable catalogue is always changing to meet the needs of any audiophile... find out how by clicking the button below!
