Review #126 - Primus Speaker MKII Cable - Ricable Review
I chose Ricable because I already owned a coaxial cable that connects the CD Transport to the amplifier. Since I had decided to change speakers, I thought it was time to upgrade the Speaker cables as well. I think I made the right choice as my system seems to have a different drive and the detail in the music seems sharper and less smoky. I think that as time goes on I will also replace the power cables with Ricable cables where I can so that I will be more comfortable about the improvements I need to get my hands on.
and aesthetics of the product?
Already knowing some of the Ricable cables, I already knew about the quality expressed always at the highest level but never would I have thought it would be so pleasant to hold Speaker cables where the quality can be perceived even by a neophyte like me. The only difficulty was to keep the connectors far enough from the wall since space is not much and I had to make a virtue of necessity. The dislocation of my system will not be able to undergo any changes since the space I can devote to it is already well defined and not much can be done, so I always try to improve my system with small adjustments that always tend to take my music to higher levels.
To test my system I always rely on the music I love the most, I am not tied to individual songs but the genres are always those that arouse a certain kind of emotion in me. I usually put on live tracks by Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder and then my beloved blues pieces from the 1950s and around. I rarely use classical music but in this case I made an exception and listened to Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and I have to say that Tidal rendered it as never before, as if I had never used this app in the past! My wonder happened when I switched from the app to the Transport CD and I had the same good feelings.
listening impressions?
I have always tried to have a certain balance between the equipment I have and all the accessories in order to make my system sound its best. I am convinced that the improvement of the electronic parts must be followed at the same rate by the cabling used, otherwise the improvements will always be limited and not very noticeable. One must take into account that investing in one's system means doing it in a homogeneous way, and that the cabling is an integral part of a system that must have a certain harmony to make it sound its best.
Your conclusions.
Again depending on your budget and your love of music and your system, I recommend that you always allocate a portion of your budget to well-made cables, and I think Ricable is the best when it comes to value for money, don't think it's just a quirk of bored audiophiles that you want to change cables that some people think don't affect your system. You will see that after you try them the first time you will have very positive opinions about them. Because, as an extreme example, there is no point in having a car with excellent performance and not having level tires, the cables in your system you can understand them as the means to make the power of your electronics make the most of them.
