Review #13 - Cable Magnus Speaker - Ricable Review
I was looking for a cable that would improve the sound of my system, one that could take away that feeling of listening fatigue. I started by using simple copper wire and then switched to a Dynaudio cable, bought absolutely at random, but the result did not satisfy me at all. Thus began my search for a solution by frequenting and reading various forums and reviews. I was looking for a cable that, while not costing crazy money, could in value for money be right for me and my system.
and aesthetics of the product?
Right from the packaging, you can tell that the product has attention to detail. I found, although the cable is of a certain thickness, it is absolutely not stiff. The banana plugs and sheaths are perfect, especially the sheaths are precisely terminated. At the first insertion of the bananas into the connectors I found some difficulty, but this ensures optimal contact.
I listen mainly to rock and blues music and did nothing but listen to songs I know very well, both on vinyl and CD media, with the previous cables. The test lasted about three weeks since I had read that cables also need a break-in period.
listening impressions?
The listening impression, after three weeks, can only be nothing but positive as far as I am concerned. I am not a pure audiophile, if you will pardon the term, but I was looking for a cable that would improve the sometimes too fatiguing sound of the cables I had tried previously. I wanted a cable that balanced and enhanced the frequencies more, without stifling them, and I think I found it in this Magnus. I am fully satisfied, I think my system has improved by 30 percent, which is no small feat. More rounded low frequencies and more detail in the mid to high frequencies.
Your conclusions.
In conclusion, I am fully satisfied with the purchase. Would I recommend them? Yes. But I would like to stress that the final result is subject to many variations, to the type of system, to the listening room and, last but not least, to personal taste. The value for money I think is all there, although it is obvious that the money spent is not cheap.
