Review #134 - Primus Coaxial Cable - Ricable Review
Not fully satisfied with the previous coaxial cable, of another brand, searching and reading opinions on the web and in specialized magazines, I turned to Ricable because of its good value for money and the presentation of it on the site. Another reason that made me lean toward the Ricable company is the lifetime warranty offered on the products, an unequivocal sign of professionalism.

and aesthetics of the product?
I found the packaging to be very neat, the cable looks very good aesthetically, denotes professionalism in assembly, and has great attention to detail. I am not an expert so my judgment is purely aesthetic, but once I inserted the cable between WiiM Ultra streamer and Leak 230 amplifier I immediately noticed an improvement in sound output.
I needed the cable to connect the WiiM Ultra (coaxial output) to my Leak 230 integrated amplifier (coaxial input). The previous cable was a Qed, however, which did not fully satisfy me. After inserting the Ricable cable into the system in place of the Qed, I began a listening session with tracks that I know well and appreciate for both artistic and sonic quality, trying to use both 16/44 and 24/96 or 24/192 quality tracks. You can read the result of the test in more detail below.

listening impressions?
I needed a coaxial to connect a WiiM Ultra to the coax input of my Leak 230 (Wharfedale Linton 85th speakers), replacing a Qed that did not fully satisfy me (not very present bass, poor soundstage openness and, for me, a bit too emphasized on the highs). The newly inserted Primus (and thus still to be broken in) immediately widened the soundstage, especially in depth, and immediately gave balance to all frequencies, with present but unobtrusive bass and detailed treble. I listened to Keith Jarrett in The Köln Concert and finally recognized the "sound" of a piano. With The Sound of Silence I finally got the idea of "stage" and the voices were perfectly harmonized. The entrance of the drums well defined. With Neil Young's Ohio the guitar finally took on relevance, while the bass and drums were perfectly present and defined. In Helplessly Hoping it finally felt as if CS&N were on stage in front of me. The rehearsal continued with King Crimson and finally Greg Lake's bass on 21st Century Schizoid Man got its dignity back. In EL&P's Take a Pebble piano, bass, and drums are finally perfectly balanced. First impressions were overwhelmingly positive, the improvement can be heard, so much for those who continue to claim that all cables are the same.
Your conclusions.
The Ricable Primus Coaxial is the basic cable among coaxials, on the other hand mine is a basically inexpensive system so I did not feel it necessary to invest in a higher priced product. The result was a clearly perceptible improvement in listening so I am finally satisfied with the sound, soundstage and definition. I feel I would recommend this cable to anyone who wants to get an improvement in their basic system at a low expense that is affordable for everyone.
