The following review of the Magnus Power cable is the result of the "Ricable " initiative. The following feedback was based on a predefined questionnaire to which the user responded with their impressions, in a completely freely. We thank Francesco for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

Already having power cables for my CD player and power amplifier from a well-known American brand, I was looking for a power cable for my preamplifier that was of the same quality without breaking the bank. Reading various reviews on the internet, particularly on Alpha Audio, I came across your brand, which I was not familiar with. Given the excellent reviews and your commercial policies, particularly the free returns after sixty days, I made up my mind.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics
of the product?

You immediately notice that you have a high-quality product, both in terms of construction and aesthetics. Great attention has been paid to detail, such as the tricolor cable ties bearing the brand name. Despite the cable section, it is surprisingly easy to handle, making connection very straightforward. The connectors are perhaps a little heavy...

How did you carry out the tests? What tracks did you use to test the cable?

After a break-in period of about fifty hours on my second entry-level system, I inserted it into the main system, alternating it with the other cables on both the CD player and the preamp and power amp. I performed the test by listening to CDs of various musical genres that I know very well and regularly use for comparisons.

What were your
listening impressions?

Whichever component it is connected to, it immediately makes its mark. In particular, it stands out right away for its excellent bass control and improved richness in vocals and mid-range frequencies in general, which makes even old recordings that are a little too dry enjoyable, and bright but never annoying highs. What I liked least was the soundstage, which, despite being quite wide horizontally, struggles to exceed the height of the speakers, penalizing the listening of recordings with a wide soundstage, such as symphony orchestras.
Compared to the reference cables, there are fewer nuances and less emotional impact. I would also point out that, again compared to the reference cables, which have the soundstage slightly behind the speakers, with the cable in question, it moves slightly in front of them.

Your conclusions.

Reiterating that listening impressions are entirely personal and depend largely on the components of the system and the listening environment, I believe that this cable is a quality product at a good price with some very good features. The company provided excellent customer service both before the purchase and in terms of suggestions for running in and returning the product.
