The following review of the Dedalus cable is the result of the "Ricable " initiative. Ricable is a program created by Ricable to gather feedback from audiophilesin order to continuously improve the products in its catalog. Last but not least, those who join the program receive a certificate at home, attesting that the customer has become a full member of the " Ricablefamily."
The following feedback was based on a predefined questionnaire to which the user responded with their impressions, in a completely freely. We thank Simone for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

Dedalus DX1 is not the first Ricable product Ricable purchased. In the past, I bought Dedalus MKII DS2 speaker cables, which I was completely satisfied with. So I decided to repeat the experience by purchasing more Ricable products. Why Ricable? For various reasons. I first came across them through a couple of reliable and impartial reviews that I followed online, which praised both Ricable products and service. Then, the fact that it is a high-quality product "made in Italy" is always important to me: we value and buy our quality products, since they exist! Finally, the guaranteed used sales service is an excellent reason for me to choose Ricable: cables in excellent condition, of excellent quality, at a lower price because they are used. Although, so far, the used products I have purchased from Ricable just like new, except for the price, which is practically half. In short, a combination of quality, Italian style, and affordability are, in a nutshell, the reasons that have prompted me to buy and repeat with Ricable.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics
of the product?

The Dedalus DX1 cables arrived by courier in 4-5 days. I live abroad, in Portugal, and even for this destination, shipping was fast and free. The cables arrived in simple, sturdy packaging: a white box with the brand logo, the name of the cables, and, prominently displayed (as it should be), the words "guaranteed used." Inside the box, I found the cables neatly rolled up, with a note indicating that they come with a lifetime warranty.
As I mentioned earlier, the cables look new: no marks, no fraying of the fabric sheath, no discoloration or fading. The assembly of the cables looks excellent. By assembly, I mean how the cable itself is connected to the XLR connectors. The cable is solid and heavy. The connectors are sturdy. In short... no complaints about the quality of the product. I cleaned them with a damp cloth, but I didn't notice any difference. That's a good sign.
Aesthetically, the cables in the entire Dedalus series Dedalus "beautiful." I like the color, which is halfway between yellow and orange. They add a bit of life and color to the black and steel/aluminum of the system.

How did you carry out the tests? What tracks did you use to test the cable?

The test took me a while. It took me a while because I didn't install the cables right away. I wanted to wait until I had time to listen to how they worked. I bought them in November and only installed them after the Christmas holidays, when I still had a few days of vacation left. During my vacation, I had plenty of time to try them out and see if I liked the sound or not. I installed Dedalus between the Roksan Caspian M2 CD player and the integrated amplifier of the same brand and series. The player and amplifier are close to each other; in theory, balanced cables would not be necessary for such a short distance. However, I wanted to try them anyway. Perhaps they don't improve on RCA cables, or perhaps they reduce interference from other devices close to the CD player-amplifier combination a little; in any case, I thought, it can't be any worse.
The Dedalus replace cables that I have owned for almost thirty years and consider to be of very good quality: Van den Hul M.C.D-102 MKIII. The cables I had were good, but I still wanted to try to improve performance with the Ricable. And then I reuse the Van den Hul cables between the iFi Zen 3 preamplifier and the integrated amplifier (I'm not throwing them away, of course), where I had entry-level QED cables, which were a bit poor compared to the rest of the system.
The Roksan amplifier has a switch on the back that allows you to switch between RCA and XLR inputs for the CD. This is very useful because during the listening test, I was able to hear the differences between my old cables and the Dedalus having to stop the music or pause anything. In short, I was able to switch from the old cables to the new ones in real time without interruption. In the photo, you can see both cables connected.
The listening position is about three meters away from the speakers. My ear is at the height of the tweeter. The position of the system is not ideal: the speakers should be further away from the back wall, and the left speaker should also be further away from the side window... but you do what you can. Under these conditions, I did my listening tests.

What were your
listening impressions?

Listening impressions. I wanted to wait before sharing my impressions. I wanted to wait to see if the differences were real or just due to the excitement of a new purchase. It's not easy to be impartial. It's not easy because I'm not comparing a good Ricable cable Ricable a "bad" cable that costs a few euros. It's not easy, but there's no doubt that the differences are noticeable. And now I'll try to describe them.
I noticed a significant (and I repeat: significant) increase in detail in three different aspects: high-frequency detail, bass depth, and channel separation.
The highs are more detailed and slightly more noticeable. Listening to John Coltrane's Ballads, the cymbals are more distinct. But even when switching to Bruce Springsteen's folk rock (Nebraska) or Johnny Cash's country, or what I call Depeche Mode's "electronic" music, or even Dire Straits, you can clearly hear the more defined, more extended highs, as well as being slightly more prominent. Jazz music undoubtedly benefits from these Dedalus not only John Coltrane, but also Lee Morgan, Duke Ellington, and the like).
The second aspect where I noticed a significant improvement is the bass. The bass is clearly deeper. It is also more detailed, but above all, it goes lower. In addition to being deeper, I noticed that it is slightly clearer. I don't know whether to use the word "controlled." I would say that in the case of my system, the correct term is "clear and deep." This is quite clear when listening to The Glide and Pepè Linque by Oregon. But also when listening to Mina in Sorelle Lumière and, again, electronic music.
Finally, the third aspect where I noticed a "significant" improvement is channel separation: the instruments are more distinguishable, and it is easier to distinguish what is coming from the right and left. I think this is what many describe as greater "three-dimensionality of the sound stage"... big words to describe that there is actually additional detail in what you hear, which represents greater fidelity in the reproduction of what was originally recorded. This greater separation between channels is evident in all the tracks I listened to, but especially in music rich in instruments or electronics.
As for the vocals, however, I didn't notice any major differences. Just a slight increase in clarity, barely perceptible. Tracy Chapman's voice is excellent, but there is little difference between my old cables and the new ones. Mina's and Bruce's voices behave in the same way: they improve, yes, but without a big difference. Perhaps this is because the speakers already did a good job in this frequency spectrum, or perhaps because you need a higher-end system to notice certain differences. In my system, the differences in the vocals can be heard, but I repeat, the biggest differences are in the highs, lows, and channel separation.

Your conclusions.

In conclusion, I can say that I am very satisfied with my purchase. I consider it another "brick" added to improve the characteristics of my system. A system that, in turn, will be improved with better speakers and, who knows, maybe a power amplifier. But the Dedalus DX1 cables make a big difference. They significantly improve the sound quality, which I already considered very good before this purchase. They give me a more detailed and clearer sound, improve the high frequencies, and extend the bass. The Dedalus cables Dedalus very well made and look like they are built to last, to be my definitive cables. Buying them second-hand, at half the price of new ones, was a real bargain for me.
I recommend the Dedalus cables, but I also recommend Ricable without hesitation. I welcome cables that are seriously manufactured by serious people.
