The desire to upgrade my system, and the excellent experience I had when I purchased RCA cables—also Ricable Magnus Ricable . All my cabling consists of Ricable products: Magnus series RCA cables, a custom-assembled power cable made with Ricable cables, a Magnus Ricable USB cable Ricable Magnusthe only thing missing was the Speaker cable Speaker connect the speakers.
and aesthetics of the product?
Like all Ricable products, the build quality and aesthetics are excellent. Despite its generous size, the Magnus MKII retains a fair amount of flexibility; the banana plugs are both attractive and practical; the packaging is appealing; and the Italian craftsmanship comes with a lifetime warranty. You can tell just by touching it that the materials used are of the highest quality.
This cable replaced a Tellurium Q Blue cable. I conducted several tests using my favorite tracks. I almost always listen to vinyl; I prefer it, and I use digital mainly to preview music before buying vinyl.
The tracks I use vary widely, from classical music (which I usually listen to in the morning), to rock in the afternoon, and jazz in the evening. I have a dedicated, acoustically treated room with a power supply independent of the main household circuit, so this setup allows me to hear any differences much more clearly without external influences. I usually use the Rega RP8 with an MC cartridge for listening to important and new vinyl records, while for used vinyl from flea markets I use the Technics with an MM cartridge; my Aria phono preamp allows me to use two turntables.
listening impressions?
To evaluate this cable, I mainly used high-impact rock tracks; I wanted to assess the control and definition of the low frequencies compared to the cable I was using, since the low frequencies are the weak point of my system—given that I have a tube amplifier—it’s important to balance the components so as not to emphasize or bloat the bass. To be honest, I had a hard time noticing differences. Switching cables while the tube amp was turned off (which takes a little time) didn’t allow me to perceive and process everything quickly, but I was still able to detect an improvement. The bass was already quite full-bodied and precise; now I’ve taken another small step forward, and this precision has helped me further enhance the already excellent clarity in the midrange; As for the high frequencies, I didn’t notice any differences compared to the previous cable.
Your conclusions.
All in all, I already had a full set of Ricable cables; the only thing missing was the Speaker cable Speaker Since I’d already appreciated the quality of the Magnus series cables, I decided to go ahead with this upgrade as well.
An important point needs to be made about the internal speaker cables: they’re almost always of very low quality, even in expensive speakers. This creates a paradox—the internal connections are often made with cheap, low-quality cables, while expensive, high-quality cables are connected to the terminals, thus creating a bottleneck at the source.
I had all the poor-quality woofer cables replaced with ones of the appropriate gauge and the tweeter cables with thinner ones, and the sound changed radically—justifying the purchase of these excellent Ricable cables.
I’d like to offer Ricable a suggestion: why not create a dedicated line of cables designed to replace the stock speaker cables? A DIY option, or perhaps you could handle the replacement yourselves by offering dedicated kits (bonus points for this idea… just kidding, of course).
