What made you choose Ricable?

I was already familiar with Ricable cables thanks to magazines, sites and various Hi-Fi forums. In addition, a dear friend with whom I share this passion purchased the entire Dedalus series, and having seen a marked improvement in his system, I was convinced to purchase first the Speaker Primus Speaker cables with the Dedalus jumpers and then the Magnus USB cable.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics
of the product?

Already from the packaging you can tell the quality and care the company puts into its products. Outer band to protect the box containing the cable tied by a sturdy band with beautiful display of proud Italian tricolor. The same is laid on a soft and protective spongy mat. Already from the heaviness one can tell that the product is of quality, the sock and connections make clear the manic attention that is put into each product.

How did you carry out the tests? What tracks did you use to test the cable?

Having recently entered the world of liquid music, the Magnus is my first USB cable and, knowing the quality of the products Ricable, I had no doubts about going for this cable. A subscriber to Tidal with Hi-Fi/Master resolution, I tested the product with the tracks and artists I know best and whose works I own on both vinyl and CD. Specifically Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, Dire Straits' Love over Gold, Emerson, Lake & Palmer's Trilogy, David Gilmour's Rattle That Lock, and something more robust in the heavy metal arena.

What were your
listening impressions?

What immediately leaps to the ear with Ricable products, and thus also with the Magnus USB, is the clear and precise soundstage that is revealed before us. Each instrument comes across as clear, separate, perfectly distinguishable, and with exciting depth. The instruments seem to envelop you in a soft, warm embrace. Perhaps just a little the low frequencies are overly dampened, but that is probably also a matter of personal taste. The ones that make you amazed are the high ranges that are softened, almost tamed, with an over-the-top class.

Your conclusions.

I believe that in terms of workmanship, sound picture and presence, the cable has lived up to all the expectations I had placed on it when choosing and purchasing it. In addition, the lifetime warranty and the pleasure of buying a once-in-a-lifetime one hundred percent made-in-Italy product definitely make it a purchase I highly recommend.

What did you enjoy?

- Invoice
- Soundboard
- Lifetime Warranty
- Made in Italy

What would you improve?

- Perhaps I would prefer the low ranges a little more accentuated
