Review #25 - Cable Speaker Dedalus Speaker - Try a Ricable
The construction and manufacture of the cable are of a very good standard. The materials of good quality. The color choice is attractive. The connectors are solid and easily used to connect the speakers to the amplifier. The packaging sturdy and adequate. Nothing to report in this area.

The tests were conducted over several listening sessions. Some with frequent changes listening to the same tracks, while others lasted longer, even several days before replacing the cable with the reference. I wanted to use all the time I had to make sure I grasped the character of Dedalus.
For listening tests I used only very good recordings, both in analog and digital formats. Mainly female jazz vocals and jazz quartets as well as historical classical recordings. This is the music I normally listen to. Diana Krall, Patricia Barber, Sara K, but also Sade and Jacintha for vocals. Gerry Mulligan, Bill Evans, Miles Davis and Art Pepper for jazz. Historic RCA Living Stereo and Mercury recordings for classical.

Have you encountered any?
The inclusion of Dedalus is immediate from the very first moment. And this is not always a good start... The scene, the soundstage is very wide both laterally and in depth. The high range is very present, but clear and terse, cool, in short. Voices are rich in harmonics and in focus but lose in body and depth compared to the reference. They are made smaller than the reference. The low range is very controlled and especially fast. Extended and deep, but lacking in energy and warmth, too dry in the midbass, and this characteristic is what detracts from the reproduction. In prolonged sessions and at important levels, listening fatigue sets in.

In summary: cold high range, vocals without body ( but strangely rich in nickel and focused armo), low range without strength. A review that does not entice purchase. Reviewing a cable by listening to the best recordings available and not the music you listen to every day is the best way not to understand what a "good cable" is. But this is old news between audiophiles who listen to the system and musicphiles who listen to the music instead.
Hi Vincenzo, for transparency we publish all reviews, even the most critical ones. We are absolutely sure that there is no perfect product in the world that 100% of people like and fits well in every system, that is why we offer a Money Back Guarantee. Regarding the review method that takes into consideration only the best recordings, we agree with you, one should do a listening with multiple sources and various formats of music (vinyl, CD, liquid music, streamer, etc...), as well as various genres. Also, in this review you use isodynamic speakers, which are very particular and if asked, we would have recommended something else.
Thanks for the response, Question; for isodynamics what would you have recommended?
Good morning Vincenzo, certainly the Invictus.
