I was told about them by an enthusiast friend of mine who had bought the Primus and said he had noticed the difference from the previous cables. I was intrigued and immediately explored the Ricable website and was pleasantly impressed. I read all the descriptions of the cables in question, in particular the components, the thickness of the various materials and I was pleasantly impressed by the quality of the material used to make the final contacts (the plugs) that go into the speakers and, at the end, considering my stereo system, I opted for the Magnus cable which I thought was the most suitable for my type of system.
and aesthetics of the product?
I was looking for very flexible and of course very good quality cables, as one of them had to go from one wall to the other since one of the speakers was far from the amp and had to fit flush along the wall separating it from the system in question; well, I have to say that despite the length and size of the cable (1.5 cm diameter) I was able to connect the cable with ease following the contours of the wall. What's more, it gives a feeling of sturdiness and solidity.
To compare it with the previous cables I based my comparison on listening to both jazz, classical and pop/rock music (my favourite). I then tried to listen to these with the different listening filters in my CD player. I used both regular CDs and SACDs, both classical and rock.
listening impressions?
I started listening with a jazz classic that is very dear to me, Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. What can I say? Not that I couldn't hear it well before, but now I could almost be there. The sound was crisp and clear, even the sound of the brushes and the cymbals of the drums was crystal clear, not to mention the full-bodied but never intrusive or exuberant bass. I then moved on to Bach and the listening was smooth and crisp. Finally, I listened to Santana and Springsteen on SACD. I was delighted, I don't know what else to add.
Your conclusions.
The cable Magnus MKII has excellently satisfied all my most rosy expectations. It is really a revelation and then, if I have to say it all, I am very happy and proud to have in Italy an electronics factory at the same level of the foreigners and even better. I repeat: the performance is exceptional, but what won me over was the clarity of the sound that makes each instrument stand out from the other, managing even in the most "noisy" rock pieces TO DISTINGUISH CLEARLY.
