The following review of Dedalus Signal and Speaker cables is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to lead to continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. Last but not least, those who join the program receive a certificate at home, with the purpose of certifying how the customer has become to all intents and purposes part of the " Ricable" family.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned his impressions, in a completely free. We would like to thank Andrea for her time.

What made you choose Ricable?

The need to try good cables for my entry level system, to replace the stripped wire, led me to choose Ricable, an Italian company known on the net. The Primus series was my initial choice. Then, taking the system to a higher quality level, I thought the Magnus series would be more appropriate. But thanks to the fantastic "Upgrade" initiative of Ricable, I was able to purchase the even higher series, Dedalus, which practically cost me the same as Magnus, thanks to the fact that I was able to return my old Speaker Primus cables in trade-in, valued at the same price paid at the time of purchase. I purchased the INTERCONNECT cables again by the same method, returning the old ones and getting a good discount. The jumpers, however, I had purchased some time before.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics
of the product?

The construction and aesthetics of the product are impeccable. The packaging, which is very attractive, looks very good and gives ample indication of what kind of product you are dealing with. A product of the highest standard. And it is not just a matter of aesthetics, of course, because in picking up and touching the cables Dedalus one immediately gets the impression of handling a solid and well-made product. Materials of the highest quality, great precision in construction, in the assembly of connectors and conduits. Everything of the highest standard. In inserting the banana plugs there is some resistance at first. No big deal, just evidence of a stable and precise connection. I read on the site the construction specifications and the technologies applied. I can only confirm what Ricable reported, based on my very personal listening impressions.

How did you carry out the tests? What tracks did you use to test the cable?

I tested cables Speaker and INTERCONNECT Dedalus listening to songs I know perfectly well. I listen mostly to rock, blues, but am open to other genres as well. I have listened to Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits; several albums by AC/DC; Toby Arrives by Koch Marshall Trio; several albums by ZZ Top, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Guns N' Roses, Gov't Mule, Blackberry Smoke. I felt the sound scene broader and clearer, indeed crystal clear. Rich in detail and detail that, in some cases, I had never perceived before. Vocals present and crystal clear; guitars clear and well-defined; bass fast and precise. The real surprise, for me, was hearing the drum cymbals, which, with the old reference cables, seemed to take a back seat. With the Dedalus cables , however, even the percussion section reached resounding levels.

What were your
listening impressions?

I am not an audiophile, but I think I am clear about what I look for in quality listening. The difference between the Primus cables and the Dedalus was immediately easy to perceive. I did not employ any measuring instrument other than my ear. The sonic transparency and precise detail are what struck me most about these cables. The only "instrumental" evidence that can confirm what I think are the VU Meters of the Teac power amp, which, with the old cables, tended to be asynchronous, that is, one stayed lower than the other. Perhaps due to the fact that from the preamp I feed both the power amp and the active sub through a splitter. Probably, this was causing me a loss of current. But with Dedalus, the VU Meter issue was also resolved and, now, they both move in sync. The bass output from the sub is also very clear and precise. I no longer experience that "slightly muddy" feeling in the low frequencies.

Your conclusions.

By my own mindset, I am convinced that the type of cable greatly affects the final product of an acoustic signal, be it Hi-Fi or other (e.g., musical instrument/amplifier). Therefore, I say with certainty that without excellent conductors, such as Ricable Dedalus , even the best Hi-Fi components will never be able to express their full potential. I'm stating the obvious, but so be it.
