I've been using mid-level cables for years, thinking that they were not "indispensable/important" in the search for a good listening sound. I read a lot of reviews and after a couple of them on the products Ricable I was convinced to take the step for some "important" purchases.
After my first purchase, I realised that cables are one of the most important components in a hi-fi system. The setup can be minimalist or lavish, it can be made with just a set of speakers and a networked smart integrated amplifier. What is certain is that all loudspeakers must be connected to the amplifier, and consequently a good amplifier must be connected to a CD player or platter, by good quality cables, able to transfer not only the pure electrical signal and power.
What a good Hi-Fi cable actually does is carry the analogue music signal, made up of harmonics and timing, between the various components and then to the speakers. Choosing the right cables is absolutely fundamental, just as not having good cables leads to a waste of the rest of the investment already made. Let's avoid spending thousands of euros on sophisticated and beautiful equipment and then connecting them with a random or low quality cable.
and aesthetics of the product?
The Dedalus Signal is a really nice cable without spending a lot of money. I switched to a Roksan K3 amplifier about ten months ago and I must say that the differences with this new cable can be heard from the first use, let's see what happens after the break-in period. The cable connects a Roksan K3 amp to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. With jazz music it gives admirable detail and the wide soundstage given by this amp and cable allows the instruments plenty of room to breathe with detail retrieval that is nothing short of excellent. Voices are also full of texture and life.
At the moment I'm still in a state/period of "break-in" and, maybe it's due to the fact that I finally have a new cable, but, after several years, I've already noticed an excellent improvement in the sound range, especially in the treble. Voices are very well defined and instruments are precise both in detail and in the overall music.
listening impressions?
The cable connects a Roksan K3 amplifier to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. Ok, maybe we are not at a high level in terms of Hi-Fi components, but the added value of the cable can be heard. Especially with jazz music, voices and wind instruments are well defined. Rock music is well defined and in particular in some passages of Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin songs you can hear the artist's hands on the guitar strings or the voice is well defined.
Your conclusions.
Nothing to complain about the quality of the cables Ricable. Not to mention the shipping service which is always efficient and fast in delivery. I think I'm just at the beginning and as soon as possible I will also take the step of buying a Dedalus Power , like Netzkabel. To praise the attention to detail in the construction and the definition reached by this manufacturer that makes high quality cables.
