I was already a customer Ricable having purchased some cables (a pair of Primus Speaker cables - 2 m - for the front speakers and a single Primus Speaker cable - 1 m - for the center channel) for my HT system, which shares the front speakers with the Stereo system.
My review of the Primus Speaker cables was overwhelmingly positive and I find that they still have a very high price/quality ratio.
Driven by the desire to dedicate even more "refined" cables to the Stereo system, I took advantage of the discount offered during Black Friday to purchase the new Magnus Speaker MKII.
and aesthetics of the product?
Construction and aesthetics of the Magnus Speaker MKII series are of a very good standard, the connections appear robust and the contact surfaces large.
The cable coverings give them excellent visual and tactile impact, and the weight and texture of the cable are no less.
Compared to the cables they are replacing (Dynavox Perfect Sound) the new Magnus Speaker MKII undoubtedly have a more refined look.
Compared to the Ricable cables I had already purchased (Primus Speaker) the new Magnus Speaker MKII have an even more refined appearance.
For a few years now I have had the opportunity to "experiment" with different solutions and different components in my system, in a room dedicated to listening, not very large, but which responds acoustically with minimal environmental corrections (the room is located in an attic, with a sloping, uneven ceiling (all info here: www.lelebrt.it).
Returning to the cables, my parameter of comparison were (in addition to the aforementioned Primus Speaker, dedicated to the HT section and therefore connected to another amplifier) my old Dynavox Perfect Sound cables, with a cable cross-section of 4 x 2.5 mm² (manufacturer's data). Replaced then with the new Magnus Speaker MKII.
listening impressions?
Compared to the old Dynavox Perfect Sound cables, the new Magnus Speaker MKII are more airy, detailed in the mid-high range, able to bring out nuances and details that previously escaped listening. Initially I found them drier - pass me that term - than the old cables in the low range, with serious notes seemingly less in evidence, but then more controlled, refined, precise. After proper break-in (and probably after the "re-education" of my ear, to a more refined sound) I find the controlled but still full-bodied bass of these new cables very pleasant, certainly not lacking in depth, indeed, when the Hz go down, the Magnus Speaker MKII return the right response.
Your conclusions.
As already anticipated, I bought these cables on the occasion of the Black Friday discounts, I do not know if I would have taken them without a discount, because for my pockets - I write this sincerely - the expense was significant. The fact remains that I found the right incentive to purchase in the discount and the possibility given by Ricable to try the cable at home (and eventually return it), so in my environment and with my components, no small thing.
Yes, as of today I would absolutely recommend these cables to friends who are as passionate about listening as I am, cables to be included in systems that are not necessarily expensive (in fact, I consider my system to be rather entry level). If it is good value for money, what you are looking for, the Magnus Speaker MKII really offer a lot for what they cost.
