The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned his impressions, in a completely free. We thank Salvo for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

From online research and encouraged by the positive reviews of other users, I initially purchased the Speaker cables also from Ricable, but the Custom ones, i.e., the H6S, which I finished myself. Having had a very good result and convinced that, with those INTERCONNECT, it would have been better, having purchased them directly assembled from the manufacturer, I opted for the Magnus, which in my opinion align with the range of my system. Mostly, I had the opportunity to buy them, again on the site of Ricable, in the "used guaranteed" section and took advantage of it.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The product is beautifully and elegantly made. The cable is of good thickness, with a very pleasant finish to the touch. The terminations are distinctive, with a screw lock, which allows a good connection with electronics. It is very flexible and conveys a feeling of quality both to the touch and to the eye.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Musical genres range from jazz to country to rock, specifically Diana Krall, Katie Melua, Youn Sun Nah, Mark Knopfler, Pink Floyd. The test was done with the classic stick-and-go method. I first broke in the electronics, listened carefully to several songs well known to my ear, and repeated listening, especially to certain passages of some songs, where I tried to detect differences.

Salvo Review Magnus Signal
Magnus Signal
What were your
listening impressions?

I come from the previous cable which is a WireWorld Luna 8, which I must say was already a good solution. But from the comparison with the Ricable I found multiple differences. The first impression is that of having a superior "transparency" with the Ricable. That is, the sound is much "clearer" and more detailed, with a more distinct top end, but without having any kind of harshness.
I had the impression described in a review read some time before, for another cable Ricable, which said that, it is as if I had a painting on which there was a veil of opacity, which the cable Ricable removed.
The midrange, in reference to the voices, is more "centered" and less harsh in the treble. The low frequencies are where I had the least change, but still in some tracks, I perceive more control.

Your conclusions.

As all audiophiles well know, on cables there are extremists of both factions, the cable-skeptics and the "cavophiles." I with my little experience have formed the idea, that a cable certainly will not be able to make a bad-sounding system sound good. But related to the cost of the electronics, and placed in contexts where every detail makes a difference, they can improve the little that makes a setup better.
In conclusion, a well-crafted cable with excellent performance. I recommend the purchase of the cables Ricable, which boast the much flaunted and proud Made in Italy. Finally, I want to emphasize the helpfulness of the customer service and courtesy in recommending the right solution.

What made you choose Ricable?

Having an entry level system to which I had never replaced anything and with "makeshift" cables I simply wanted to increase the quality. After a little web search I happened upon your official page and with a parallel search for reviews I chose your products. I contacted your customer service via WhatsApp who promptly and kindly answered my also quite idiotic questions, but I have no expertise in the matter and they recommended in addition to the amplifier speaker cable also the CD player speaker cable. Unfortunately, my turntable does not allow cable replacement!

Review Primus Matthew B
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The packages are beautiful. The cables, well, aesthetically stunning, little to say. Compared to what I had before, there is no comparison. They are ten times bigger. The white and green are a great choice and look very good in my system. You can see from the photos that the custom furniture I had made provides two niches in which to put the amplifiers "at rest" however for better listening I advance them and put them closer to the listener so the cables show and look very nice.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Because the wires are banana plugs, I had to remove the speaker caps and also the caps on the amplifier and CD player. Here again your WhatsApp service was very prompt, careful and kind in showing me the best way to do it. Because with my inexperience I really didn't know how to do it, I didn't even know it could be done. It took me a few seconds to insert them because they are quite important as bananas but the whole thing went well. And, yes, I listened to a couple of songs with my turntable and especially with the CD player with the new cable and compared to before there is no comparison.

Review Primus Matthew B
Review Primus Matthew B
What were your
listening impressions?

As a first step, I listened to a couple of turntables. One of jazz and one of metal, which are the genres that I thought would best render the new sound. Specifically a Megadeth track came out with much deeper bass and much more prominent drums. Of jazz, I listened to Alice Coltrane. I listened to Illuminations and Carlos Santana's guitar acquired a crystal clear sound and the a cappella vocals much clearer. As I wrote further up there is no comparison: the speakers sound new, but it is really the new cable. I am very happy because now having also changed the furniture to better aesthetically enhance the whole Hi-Fi system is really another world. The only flaw is that since I don't have a turntable to which the cable can be changed, either I change the turntable or I think it is the weak link in the whole system.

Your conclusions.

For those of you reading, I would absolutely recommend Ricable. From the support via WhatsApp that was absolutely free and made it clear to me step by step what was best for my situation, to the product itself that arrived very quickly via courier (like two days after ordering), to the wonderful sound production that I can now finally enjoy. I also have to keep the volume low such is the crystal clear power I now have. My review is overwhelmingly positive.

The following review of Primus Signal, Speaker MKII and Power cables is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to bring about continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Luigi for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I was looking for a complete kit for the player-ampli-speaker chain that was good value for money and could replace my very old and anonymous cables. So I read many reviews including those of well-known and emblazoned cables. Then I came across Ricable products and was intrigued by the many positive reviews and competitive cost.
So I decided to try the entry level, Primus series, if it went bad I could recycle them on the second system I use for the house in the hills.

Review Luigi Primus Series
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

As soon as I opened the packages, I was very impressed by the pleasant, tasteful aesthetics of the cables and the handling, which gave a soft feel despite the ruggedness. In short, these are cables that immediately met with my favor from both an exterior and manual standpoint. I consider the product among those most in tune with my aesthetic taste.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

For the listening test, I used 3 CDs that I consider true acoustic quality benchmarks for evaluating the Hi-Fi components I listen to and select:

  1. This One's for Blanton!, Pablo Records 1975 ed. Gold, AAD - is the gold edition of the record recorded in 1975 by Duke Ellington on piano with Ray Brown on double bass;
  2. Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong for Lovers, The Verve Music 2005 - wonderful recording of the Verve engineers, Armstrong's and Fitzgerald's voices over the musical fabric created by the magic of Oscar Peterson (piano), Ray Brown (double bass), Herb Hellis (guitar), Buddy Rich (drums) and others;
  3. Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Karajan, Decca Legends, ADD - is a gem of a 1959 recording with perfect equalization, remastered 96 kHz 24 bit tape for Decca's Legends series.

The first disc allows us to analyze the presence, amplitude and naturalness in the reproduction of two fundamental instruments such as piano and acoustic double bass covering the low and mid frequency spectrum.
The second disc adds the full midrange of the voice, over an intense rhythmic base and the low and high frequency spectrum of wind instruments, guitar, etc.
The third disc completes the listening with the dynamics of crescendos, forte, fortissimo, and incalzare of instruments, covering the entire audio frequency spectrum.

Review Luigi Primus Series
Review Luigi Primus Series
What were your
listening impressions?

I chose the first track from the gold Decca CD, Do Nothing till You Hear from Me; the incipit is made up of a few bars and responses between piano and double bass which is followed by tight phrasing between the two who never give each other a break. Well, the first thing I notice is the cleanliness, the clarity of the piano and the robust tone, the vigor of the double bass. The separation of the instruments is perfect and their texture precise, millimetric. The breadth of the piano's seven octaves, Duke uses them all, and the sound front is wide and clear across all octaves. The soundstage is slightly limited, but it is only two instruments. The first rehearsal is excellent.
For the second track I choose Cheek to Che ek from the Verve CD to probe the midrange of the vocals well. Satchmo's vocals are superb, Peterson's piano a bit muffled and the instruments in the background, but that's just the way the recording is. The voices are always in the foreground beautifully toned and soft, never edgy, the instrumental fabric precise and full. The midrange is excellent.
Then, with some reverential awe, I venture to put on the incipit of the work that accompanied Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey. On the C of the organ and double basses, natural harmonics develop that the trumpets bring to the C major chord, sharp precise and clear. The timpani create a particularly intense and tense atmosphere. The sound is precise and present, soft and intense. The scene would like a little more breadth, instead it remains a little narrow, but each instrument still finds its place and separation, even when the strings press in loudly, enhanced by the woodwinds and timpani, before introducing the song of the clarinet accompanied by the violins. The whole scene is precise and clear, suffering only from a little more width as already noted with Ellington and Brown's two instruments.

Your conclusions.

Satisfied with the purchase made, mainly because of the clean sound, the precision of the instruments and the homogeneity of the frequency response, quite linear in the mid-high range, a little less so in the low range. Not completely satisfied with the sound width. I need to better understand whether a possible upgrade on the "cables" component is able to expand the soundstage and the sound amplitude more, or whether I need to concern other components of the Hi-Fi chain.

What made you choose Ricable?

I have read some flattering reviews. I needed a cable to be considered definitive as a replacement for the albeit good Actinote MB83 purchased in 2004, part of my old system that I have completely replaced. An evolutionary upgrade to complete (I hope) my system that has been completely replaced in recent years. This cable represented the last surviving component.

Review Invictus Signal Maurizio
Invictus Signal Context
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The cable presents itself well. Solid construction with optimal rigidity and fine detail aesthetics. The connections are of excellent quality with intuitive signal direction indication. The excellently made, elegant outer jacket with a slightly retro feel that I like. Although generally not visible, in my opinion aesthetics always have their value.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Replacing my old RCA cables with Invictus, I began listening with jazz tunes both instrumental only and also sung, then with classical and baroque music, pop, finishing then with rock (the real one from the 1970s and 1980s). All of which I was familiar with the musicality of through my system. Hours of careful listening taking advantage of those moments when I was alone in the house.

Review Invictus Signal Maurizio
Invictus Signal Context
What were your
listening impressions?

Right away I noticed a greater soundstage, with the mid-high end more defined and detailed and the bass extremely controlled and balanced. It seems to have eliminated that bottleneck that I only imagined with the old cables. I still kept the Van den Hul The Mountain RCA cables connected between the McIntosh preamp and power amp. Vocals, especially female vocals , are more realistic. Drum brushes more defined and clear, in general a richness and completeness of detail that I did not notice before. All instruments, regardless of musical genre, are more in focus and well placed in the soundstage. Zero listening fatigue.

Your conclusions.

I must admit that choosing these cables was like a leap of faith, based on excellent reviews and after directly noting the seriousness and professionalism of this company. Definitely favorable value for money given the comparative results. My old cables I think I remember paying about 500 euros for them, back in 2004. A jump finished beautifully, a definitive choice for me to complete a process of upgrading my system. Highly recommended!

What made you choose Ricable?

Wanting to replace my old cables, and having read positive reviews about the Primus series, I decided to try the Primus RCA to connect the phono preamp to the amplifier. So I logged onto the Ricable website, selected the Primus RCA cable, and after looking at the specifications and seeing that the price was within budget, I decided to buy it.

Gilberto Primus Signal Review
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The Primus RCA cable is delivered in an elegant box. Aesthetically the cables are pleasant to look at, the outer braiding is a nice grey-white colour and they are flexible but not soft. The connectors are gold-plated and make a good grip on the RCA sockets of both the amplifier and the phono preamplifier.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The comparison was made with my old Monster Cable Interlink 100 cables. For the comparison I used the following rock music LPs: A Momentary Lapse of Reason, 45 RPM, Pink Floyd. And the following jazz LPs: Time Out, The Dave Brubeck Quartet; A Love Supreme, John Coltrane.

Gilberto Primus Signal Review
What were your
listening impressions?

For comparison, I listened to the same track first with Monster Cable and then with Primus. I repeated the test, alternating cables, for the following tracks:

  • Pink Floyd: The Dogs of War and Round and Around from A Momentary Lapse of Reason
  • John Coltrane: Resolution and Pursuance from A Love Supreme

What can I say, the Primus won on all fronts: more transparent, neutral and musical, the sound more defined and wide. For its price it surpasses the others at less than 100 euros after several comparative tests. There is no doubt about it: my system has gained.

Your conclusions.

Satisfied with the purchase, in fact, I also bought Primus Coaxial to connect the CD to the DAC of the Denon amplifier and I already have plans to replace the Speaker cables, again with the Primus line. Excellent and well sounding cables and last but not least made in Italy. Highly recommended for all mid-level systems.

What made you choose Ricable?

I have known the brand Ricable for a long time, because years ago I had the opportunity to buy two HDMI cables, which I still use today and appreciate with great admiration for the construction level and for the overall performance both audio and video. I had never had the chance to test in person the Hi-Fi cables made by this company, and since the occasion arose, I wanted to do it, also because I was really very curious.
As an old pioneer of high fidelity (since the seventies), I have tried many brands of cables, more or less emblazoned, and after many direct comparisons I can say, with certainty, that it is absolutely not the price that makes the intrinsic quality of each of them.

Invictus Signal Raphael
Invictus Signal Context
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The three-metre, RCA-terminated cable Invictus INTERCONNECT that I purchased is a beautiful artefact, with attention to every detail. The packaging, in which it is sent to you, is very important, and inside there is a padding that protects it from any shock. In substance, a lot of attention has been paid to the details that really make the difference, such as: sock, connectors, soldering, gilding. The cosmetics have also been taken into account, because the cable really does look impressive.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

So, I have immediately connected it to the digital player, and after having let it run in for about forty hours, as it is right, I have started to listen to it, with attention, putting it directly in comparison with cables of all importance, and of which I know the timbric very well. The comparison has been made with the cables in my possession, Transparent Plus, Ultra, YBA Diamond, Mandrake in silver (famous cable in the nineties), cables that I appreciate very much for the soft sound, the dynamic contrast, the width of the imaginary soundstage, the depth of the image.

Invictus Signal Raphael
Invictus Signal Raphael
What were your

For the test I used the most varied musical material possible to bring out all the features of the component under test, namely:

  • Baroque
    • Vivaldi'sFour Seasons, Archiv disc
    • Händel, Music on Water
    • Händel, Concerti grossi
  • Pop, rock, fusion
    • Peter Gabriel, Up
    • Pink Floyd, The Endless River
    • Dire Straits, Dire Straits
    • Al Jarreau, Tenderness
    • Dead Can Dance, Into the Labyrinth
    • Chick Corea, Plays
    • Pat Metheny, The Road to You
    • Genesis, Seconds Out
    • Dave Grusin, Cinemagic
    • Steely Dan, Gaucho
    • Karen Souza, Essentials
    • Tracy Chapman
  • Italian music
    • Mina, Fiorella Mannoia, Lucio Dalla , Francesco De Gregori, Fabrizio De André

Your conclusions.

Well... theInvictus, after a long run-in period, has proved to have some remarkable features, such as:

  • timbre balance: each frequency has its own position, without any prevarication;
  • transfer of dynamics: it seems that the signal has fewer obstacles and arrives with more energy and speed;
  • damping: faster transients are damped, and well articulated;
  • silkiness: the mid-high range has a texture that never becomes fatiguing, even during long listening sessions;
  • image width: the speakers disappear, the greater the overall realism;
  • depth: this dimension, too, has expanded;
  • noise abatement: benefits from increased micro and macro contrast.

What made you choose Ricable?

I needed two 1m long RCA cables. I was looking for a good compromise for my mediocre little system without spending a fortune. Given the thick jungle that exists in this sector, I did some research on the web with acquaintances and enthusiasts and, after a careful search, I chose Ricable Magnus .

Magnus Signal Vincenzo

At first glance, I liked the packaging alone. Then inside the legendary Magnus wrapped and held in place by Velcro... simply fantastic. Let's talk about the pins: once inserted and screwed they are still! I really liked the quality of the outer cover. Then I had a problem with the courier: I immediately contacted Ricable and they solved the problem in five minutes. Absolute helpfulness.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I wanted to compare them with other cables, but I couldn't because I have the power amps in a closed cabinet, so it is very complicated to unplug and re-plug them. So I just listened to my favourite tracks like the legendary Rachelle Ferrell, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd.

I listened to my usual albums I described above. Especially in the mid-to-highs, much more stage presence and slightly clearer tones. Not to mention Mark Knopfler's voice or guitar... It's a real treat. I don't know if it's suggestion, but I think I've made a quantum leap with my system and probably, little by little, if I have the chance, I'll change all the cables of my system starting from the cables Speaker up to the power cables.

What made you choose Ricable?

I've been using mid-level cables for years, thinking that they were not "indispensable/important" in the search for a good listening sound. I read a lot of reviews and after a couple of them on the products Ricable I was convinced to take the step for some "important" purchases.
After my first purchase, I realised that cables are one of the most important components in a hi-fi system. The setup can be minimalist or lavish, it can be made with just a set of speakers and a networked smart integrated amplifier. What is certain is that all loudspeakers must be connected to the amplifier, and consequently a good amplifier must be connected to a CD player or platter, by good quality cables, able to transfer not only the pure electrical signal and power.
What a good Hi-Fi cable actually does is carry the analogue music signal, made up of harmonics and timing, between the various components and then to the speakers. Choosing the right cables is absolutely fundamental, just as not having good cables leads to a waste of the rest of the investment already made. Let's avoid spending thousands of euros on sophisticated and beautiful equipment and then connecting them with a random or low quality cable.

Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe
Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The Dedalus Signal is a really nice cable without spending a lot of money. I switched to a Roksan K3 amplifier about ten months ago and I must say that the differences with this new cable can be heard from the first use, let's see what happens after the break-in period. The cable connects a Roksan K3 amp to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. With jazz music it gives admirable detail and the wide soundstage given by this amp and cable allows the instruments plenty of room to breathe with detail retrieval that is nothing short of excellent. Voices are also full of texture and life.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

At the moment I'm still in a state/period of "break-in" and, maybe it's due to the fact that I finally have a new cable, but, after several years, I've already noticed an excellent improvement in the sound range, especially in the treble. Voices are very well defined and instruments are precise both in detail and in the overall music.

Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe

What were your
listening impressions?

The cable connects a Roksan K3 amplifier to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. Ok, maybe we are not at a high level in terms of Hi-Fi components, but the added value of the cable can be heard. Especially with jazz music, voices and wind instruments are well defined. Rock music is well defined and in particular in some passages of Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin songs you can hear the artist's hands on the guitar strings or the voice is well defined.

Your conclusions.

Nothing to complain about the quality of the cables Ricable. Not to mention the shipping service which is always efficient and fast in delivery. I think I'm just at the beginning and as soon as possible I will also take the step of buying a Dedalus Power , like Netzkabel. To praise the attention to detail in the construction and the definition reached by this manufacturer that makes high quality cables.

What made you choose Ricable?

I had the opportunity to appreciate the build and sound quality (albeit of the Primus series) on two different occasions. Already the entry level series returned an impressive result and a tangible difference with the previous wiring. Comparing it to the previous set-up, the result strongly encouraged me to try the Dedalus series.

Dedalus Ricable Review Francesco Saverio
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Just say: Made in Italy. Exceptional construction and packaging. Possibility of customisation at the highest levels. Aesthetically they are a real BOMB. In every detail you can appreciate the level of craftsmanship. From the materials to the serigraphy, up to the cable ties. Weight and sturdiness at the highest levels. Connectors comfortable to hold and masterful in tightening.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The audio test returned proverbial precision and an absolutely crystal-clear, three-dimensional sound image. The mid-high range is reproduced to the maximum of its possibilities. The bass is restrained, never redundant but at the same time musical. Sincere" voices, precise and well positioned on the musical stage. On the strings, the timbre recalls the construction material of the instruments' loudspeakers. High range present, crystalline and never (never!) tiring.

Dedalus Ricable Review Francesco Saverio
Mark Knopfler Dire Straits
What were your
listening impressions?

My listening references are: Michel Godard with Monteverdi: A Trace of Grace; Dire Straits with Love over Gold; Patricia Barber with Companion; Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Nils Lofgren and so on. Right from the start, on the wind instruments I found more airiness and spatiality; correct timbre and impeccable positioning of the musical components; the voices crystalline and elegant, central and with an emulative sound image of the stage. Bass is present, strong and never fatiguing. Overall the soundstage is more precise and three-dimensional. The overall image stands as a new listening reference.

Your conclusions.

Anyone who does not believe that attention to wiring marks the difference between a 'before' and an 'after' should seriously rethink their views. This series, sister to the top of the range, fully expresses the potential of impressive construction and a focus on sound rather than mere current flow. In a nutshell, my already high-performing system revealed itself in all its potential!

What made you choose Ricable?

The need to try some good cables for my entry level system, to replace the stripped wire, led me to choose Ricable, an Italian company known on the net. The Primus series was my initial choice. Then, bringing the system to a higher quality level, I thought that the Magnus series would have been more appropriate. But thanks to the fantastic "Upgrade" initiative of Ricable, I was able to buy the even higher series, Dedalus, which cost me practically the same as Magnus, thanks to the fact that I was able to return my old Speaker Primus cables in exchange, valued at the same price paid at the time of purchase. I bought the INTERCONNECT cables using the same method, returning the old ones and getting a good discount. I had bought the jumpers some time before.

Andrea Review Dedalus
Andrea Review Dedalus
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The construction and aesthetics of the product are impeccable. The very attractive packaging is very well presented and makes it clear what kind of product you are dealing with. A product of the highest level. And it's not only a matter of aesthetics, obviously, because when you pick up and touch the cables Dedalus you immediately have the impression of handling a solid and well-made product. Materials of the highest quality, great precision in the construction, in the assembly of connectors and sheaths. Everything is of the highest level. When inserting the banana plugs there is some resistance at first. No big deal, just proof of a stable and precise connection. I have read on the website the construction specifications and the technologies applied. I can only confirm what Ricable says, based on my very personal listening impressions.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I tested the cables Speaker and INTERCONNECT Dedalus by listening to songs that I know perfectly well. I listen mainly to rock, blues, but am open to other genres as well. I listened to Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits; several AC/DC albums; Toby Arrives by Koch Marshall Trio; several albums by ZZ Top, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Guns N' Roses, Gov't Mule, Blackberry Smoke. I felt the soundstage wider and clearer, indeed crystal clear. Rich in details and particulars that, in some cases, I had never perceived before. Vocals present and crystalline; guitars clear and well defined; bass fast and precise. The real surprise, for me, was listening to the cymbals of the drums that, with the old reference cables, seemed to be in the background. With the cables Dedalus, instead, also the percussion section has reached amazing levels.

Andrea Review Dedalus
Andrea Review Dedalus
What were your
listening impressions?

I am not an audiophile, but I think I have a clear idea of what I am looking for in quality listening. The difference between the Primus cables and Dedalus was immediately obvious. I didn't use any measuring device other than my ear. The sonic transparency and precise detail is what struck me most about these cables. The only "instrumental" test able to confirm what I think are the VU Meters of the Teac power amp that, with the old cables, tended to be asynchronous, that is one remained lower than the other. Maybe due to the fact that from the preamp I feed both the power amp and the active sub, through a splitter. This probably caused a loss of current. But with Dedalus, the VU meter issue was also solved and now they both run in sync. The bass output from the sub is also very clear and precise. I don't get that 'slightly muddy' feeling in the bass anymore.

Your conclusions.

In my mind, I am convinced that the type of cable has a huge influence on the final product of an acoustic signal, be it Hi-Fi or other (e.g. musical instrument/amplifier). Therefore, I say with certainty that without good conductors, such as Ricable Dedalus , even the best Hi-Fi components will never be able to express their full potential. I'm saying something obvious, but that's the way it is.

What made you choose Ricable?

I have known Ricable for years as the owner of an HDMI cable that is still perfect today. After listening to a system of a friend who had replaced the cables, I was convinced to change my cables INTERCONNECT to get something more. The reviews on Ricable are always great.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The cable is supplied in a strong and well-maintained cardboard box, the cable has a certain diameter but remains quite soft both to the touch thanks to the fabric sheath that covers it and in handling, it bends quite easily. The connectors are solid but a little hard to fix.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The test took place on the same tracks of the same SACD before and after the replacement of the cables. The previous cables were OFC copper cables with a generous cross-section, in my possession for about 8, 9 years with which I listened to everything and in my humble opinion had always done their job well.

What were your
listening impressions?

The test was on the same tracks from the same SACD before and after the cables were replaced. As soon as the cables were replaced, I heard a greater continuity between the mid and high tones, therefore a greater persistence of the sounds and a longer lasting and fuller bass. It almost seems as if the sound becomes three-dimensional! After a period of 'running in' the sound did not change considerably. The listening test was done both live and with headphones, in the second case the improvements are more perceptible.

Your conclusions.

I would never have imagined such a dramatic change for just replacing the RCA cables. Highly recommended for a top level upgrade! The cables really make a difference and the money spent is almost an investment. Gradually you should replace all connections to get the best out of your system.

What made you choose Ricable?

As I wasn't very well informed about the audio market, I chose Ricable because I had heard very good things about it after reading up on various forums and social networks. So I chose Ricable because it seemed to me a very reliable and quality brand. Moreover, it's an Italian product and therefore, especially at this time, better so.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Excellent product, the cable is very sturdy, it is well made and is also very nice to look at. Compared to the previous RCA cable Monster Cable Interlink Junior there is really a lot of difference in this respect ... you can see that we are on another level. The connectors are also very nice and sturdy. All perfect, I'm really satisfied with the purchase.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I did the test by listening to various CD tracks with the Marantz CD6007 player and then comparing the new Ricable Primus Signal cable with the previous RCA Monster Cable Interlink Junior cable. I tried to range through the musical genres, rock, hard rock, metal, but also blues and jazz. Unfortunately, I am not an audiophile expert, but I think that the test I carried out was positive in favour of the cable Ricable Primus Signal.

I am not an audiophile expert, but I have listened to various tracks that I know very well and compared to the previous Monster Cable Interlink Junior RCA cable, the new RCA cable Ricable Primus Signal, besides being very nice to look at, seemed to me quite neutral, but it also seemed to me that, compared to the old cable of cheaper price, it improved the sound giving more fullness and body. Performance at the highest levels for the typology of my system. I am really satisfied with the purchase and the listening with the new cable Ricable.

Your conclusions.

Excellent RCA cable. Even if it is the entry level Ricable, it is a very well made and quality cable. I recommend it to those who have a good Hi-Fi system and want to replace the old RCA cable without spending astronomical amounts of money (as I did) or to those who are about to buy a new system. What made you choose Ricable?

Consulting various proposals on the internet and reading the specifications of the various cables with myriad offers of all prices and materials, in the jungle of the network you risk creating only great confusion, you can find cables from twenty euros to thousands of euros and then you have to find a fixed point. My fixed point was Ricable, a serious company and above all Italian. I chose Ricable because it convinced me the most and because it is Italian.

Impeccable construction, nothing left to chance; the construction detail indicates that the materials used are of the highest level, from the conductors to the insulators. Aesthetically it already gives the feeling of a highly professional product. Even the packaging leaves nothing to chance, the delivery times are very fast and the packaging is well made and shock-proof.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Disconnected the cables carrying the signal from the Cambridge Audio Magic Plus DAC to the FEZZ Audio Titania amplifier and reconnected them with the cables Ricable Magnus and tried them with reference CDs that I know well, in order to detect the differences in the best way. All the frequencies are well reproduced with an exciting sound detail, you can also hear things that I had never heard before.

Listening to my reference CDs before and after replacing the INTERCONNECT cables with the new cables Ricable Magnus , I immediately noticed more detail throughout the audio range and an additional brilliance to the sound. Signal separation between channels was also much more pronounced. I heard sonic details, such as brushes rubbing against the drum or bells, that I hadn't noticed before. Of course, if there are engraving errors or smudges, you can hear those too. I am very satisfied with this fine product.

Your conclusions.

I would recommend Ricable cables to anyone who wants to improve the sound characteristics of their hi-fi system, even to sceptics who don't believe that cables can be a plus. Of course, the differences can only be heard if you have a good Hi-Fi system. In other words, the cost of cables must be justified by a set of good components upstream. Spending hundreds of euros on cables with electronics that cost less than the cables themselves is perfectly pointless and silly.

I chose it in the first place because it is a handmade Italian product. I got to know the company through internet channels like YouTube and Audiofilando. I needed a high performance cable to replace a very thin Chinese cable that was going to be the connection between the headphone amplifier and my Grado SR-80. Once I was informed, I decided to buy it directly from the manufacturer's website, which even offers a lifetime guarantee. I keep it jealously in its case. I call it 'my python' because I wrap it around myself to unroll it!

Beautiful to the eye and to the touch it provides a nice feel. The construction is excellent, the cable is thick and the screen-printed connectors Ricable are beautiful and gold-plated. The insulation sleeve produces a beautiful feeling of high craftsmanship with its characteristic grey-white colouring and checkered pattern! When I insert the headphone jacks, the click that is produced is solid and immediate, providing a great feeling of contact.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I connected this cable to a Rega Ear first series headphone amp. I use it for evening listening and when I have time also in the early afternoon. I use it to have an intimate relationship with newly purchased records or for use with Tidal connected to the Onkyo NS-6170 network player! I finally feel the music I love, know and the music that I have yet to get to know well have their own place beyond my head, it's a new sensation and difficult to describe, but one that makes the musical stage that this product offers truly unique.

I would recommend this cable to everyone, this company that represents an excellence of our Italy and all its products that allow access to many cables for all budgets and for all needs. What made you choose Ricable?

I needed to get a two metre INTERCONNECT RCA cable to connect my digital source (CD player) to the integrated amplifier. My previous self-made cable was much shorter as the player was originally located right next to the integrated amp. The new arrangement of the electronics allowed me to move my turntable away from the left speaker and avoid possible acoustic feedback. I chose Ricable out of curiosity. I had seen pictures on a forum, read the specs on the website and seen some reviews. I was attracted by the fact that it was an entirely Made In Italy product and that it offered such ample guarantees of quality.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The first impact was very positive. The packaging is excellent, the product looks very good despite being classified as the Italian company's entry level. Packaging and logo are a business card that really works. On an aesthetic level, the cables have an elegant and flexible outer sheath, the terminations are well done, the contacts are firm and secure. They really make a good impression and this time I don't feel the need to hide the cables behind my electronics, on the contrary...

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I tested the cables with my own test discs, including Dire Straits' Love over Gold, Diana Krall's The Girl in the Other Room, Dylan's Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid on Japanese Blu-spec CD, Rickie Lee Jones' self-titled MQA CD from Japan and finally Blind Faith's self-titled, quality edition from the rising sun.

What were your
listening impressions?

The self-built cable didn't do too badly but was always a temporary solution. With these RCA cables the soundstage is definitely wider and richer, the sounds are realistic, the bass never overpowering. Everything is very measured, never over the top. The musical signal arrives without any kind of smearing, it is pleasant and can be listened to without any difficulty. In short, everything flows very naturally. So this new link in the chain lets everything through and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Your conclusions.

Despite being an "entry level", I am satisfied with both the build quality and the sound output. I hope to have the chance to buy other types of cables Ricable in the near future, I'm thinking of both power supply and cables Speaker . The company is Italian, dynamic and is also "nice" in terms of digital marketing, intelligent and never invasive. In my opinion it works! Congratulations indeed!

The high-quality RCA audio cable in Hi-Fi optics

The term "RCA audio cable" in Hi-Fi usually refers to stereo cables INTERCONNECT with RCA connectors. It is the connector that gives the whole cable its name. But if you look closely, digital coaxial cables, for example, and turntable cables are also fitted with RCA connectors. In short, it is the type of connector that gives the cable its title, regardless of its function and construction. Potentially, however, any type of connection could take advantage of the RCA connector, even a power connection. But then: why have RCA connectors continued to be used for signal transmission for so long? Is it possible that the technology has not improved in any way? Before we take a snapshot of the current situation, let's take a step back and see where the RCA connector came from.

When was the RCA connector born?

The RCA connector became a standard in the 1940s and was named after the company that designed it: the Radio Corporation of America. This was a US electronics company, founded in 1919 by General Electric; the brand is now owned by Sony and Technicolor. RCA's origins as a company go back as far as a reorganisation of the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company of America, founded in 1899 as a subsidiary of the Wireless Telegraph and Signal Company of London, a company with the aim of promoting Guglielmo Marconi's radio inventions.

No later than 1937, RCA introduced this prototype as an internal connector in its radiophonographs. The amplifier chassis had female connectors that accepted males from the radio and phonograph. Originally, the design was intended to support "unplugging" of sources during maintenance troubleshooting.

rca radio corporation of america logo

Around 1938, RCA moved the female connector to the rear panel of many of its AM radio models to allow customers an intuitive way to connect an external phonograph or television later. This is how, little by little, the RCA connection gained more and more space until it became a real standard for transmitting INTERCONNECT audio and video, sometimes even in the professional world.

RCA audio cable in Hi-Fi: how does it work?

Even if you are not an expert in audio and video connections, or even if you don't frequent Hi-Fi environments, it is very unlikely that you have never dealt with an RCA connection. The RCA audio cable in Hi-Fi is usually male/male, but there are also different variants (think of an ordinary extension cable, which must necessarily have a female side as well). In the wiring of a Hi-Fi system, RCA cables are not only male/male but also required in pairs. This means that they are often found in a stereo configuration, i.e. with two single mono cables coupled together, and serve as the connection, in most cases, between source and amplifier. RCA connectors boast a veritable colour-coded legend to encode their function and simplify wiring. Still talking about the most common use in Hi-Fi, which requires the audio RCA cable to be absolutely shielded, we can say that the connectors are white for the left channel and red for the right one. This, however, is strictly at the discretion of the manufacturer. The RCA connector is cylindrical in shape and has two contacts. In the male, the first contact is a central metal pin (positive pole); around it is a metal ring (ground ring) which acts as the second contact, i.e. the negative pole.

RCA connectors

RCA connector: why does it endure in Hi-Fi audio?

We wrote at the beginning of this article that the RCA connector is one of the most "solid" ones, able to resist to fashions and to the passing of time. The reason is quite simple, and is functional both on the performance side and on the user side: the RCA connector has done and continues to do its job. The limits of this connection only emerge when dealing with high voltage and current peaks.

But at low voltages and currents, the RCA connection does its job very well without the advancement of science and technology being able to come up with different standards for which the game is worth the candle. On the user side, the system 'with the plug' works in turn and is extremely user friendly.

RCA in Hi-Fi today (and beyond)

Today, the RCA connection is used in the electronics industry mainly in audio. In Hi-Fi, the best RCA audio cables, in order to be of high quality, must not present any magic, but a lot of concreteness. We are referring to a technically conscious construction and high-quality materials in terms of conductors, connectors, shielding (which is essential in a cable INTERCONNECT) and all other components. Not so many years ago, this connection was also used in the video field thanks to the composite video triplet in combination with the stereo audio coupling. Think VCRs, DVD players, and game consoles. However, RCA connectors in video, due to poor impedance matching, have been superseded by HDMI digital connectors. Returning to high fidelity audio, RCA cables are still among the most popular along with power cables and Speaker cables. This is why Ricable offers them in all its main series: Primus, Magnus, Dedalus and Invictus, in order to meet everyone's needs.

Giving me the impression of a serious company and reading the various positive reviews here and there, I decided to buy the Netzkabel amplifier. Aesthetically beautiful to look at, they certainly give (besides the main motivation: an acoustic improvement) an importance to the system. Good attention to detail. Cable with good flexibility. RCA connectors fit perfectly without any problem, and there's also a clamping device that ensures optimum contact.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

It is always difficult to test upgrades, especially for cables where you don't always hear a huge difference. Then there's the wait to replace the cable. I listened to a live show with the old cables (they were already well-made, not the classic small black ones), and then replaced the cables and listened to the same track again.

What were your
listening impressions?

For the test I listened to the track Money from David Gilmour's live album Live at Pompeii, as I find the recording of this album perfect with an extraordinary acoustic. Afterwards (only with cables Ricable) I listened to Fausto Mesolella's Live at Alcatraz and Sting's live album . ..All This Time. I usually try to listen to live records... when you listen to a live album and think you are there at the concert... then you are there! I noticed a warmer sound and more evident bass... Above all, without moving the speakers so as to form an equilateral triangle with the listener (the best method for good listening), I could perfectly hear the singer at the centre of the stage, as if he were in front of me. The sound spreads better in the room.

Your conclusions.

Satisfied, I got a good result; of course they are slight variations but you can hear them; with many small variations you get a better and better sound. Always take into account the system you have. But as they did with me, they will be able to suggest the best cable. Of all the upgrades (talking about cables) this is the one where I felt the difference...

What made you choose Ricable?

It is well known that cable quality is fundamental in a Hi-Fi system; any system, even a Hi-End one, without quality cables, cannot express its real potential. It's like having a super sports car with bad tyres. With this in mind, I decided to invest some money in quality cables. I searched the internet for the various products available on the market and read a few reviews. In my search I found Ricable which, being an Italian brand, immediately got my attention. I carefully read the various features of all their products, from Hi-End to entry level, and in the end I decided to trust them; let's say that the first purchase was a leap in the dark.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The first thing that struck me once I unwrapped the package was the beautiful box containing the cables, very well cared for, both in terms of graphics and material, in short it is not the usual cardboard box made at a discount. As for the cables, what can I say, they are beautiful to look at and as soon as you take them in your hands you immediately understand the level of construction quality. The connectors are a spectacle, they have an exceptional tightening system, in fact they are equipped with an external shell that before the insertion of the connector has to be unscrewed and then screwed again to tighten the ground rings, really well made.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Once all the cables were in place and all the necessary connections made, I started my listening test with tracks with a high level recording and that I know perfectly, such as Private Investigations by Dire Straits; I then continued my listening test with tracks that made me appreciate the quality of the bass, such as The Sea by ARY.

What were your
listening impressions?

I must say that I am not an expert and refined audiophile, and I don't think I am up to making a high level review. The only thing I can do is to report what I have perceived with respect to when my system was playing with the cables that are supplied when I bought the various components. The thing that struck me more and that I perceived better was the so-called sound staging, in the sense that now I can better locate from where that instrument or that voice is reproduced, I don't know how to explain, I would say that the scene is more centered.

Your conclusions.

I am very satisfied with my investment. When I bought the cables Ricable, as I have already said, it was a leap in the dark and honestly I was a bit afraid of having spent money in vain, but after listening I breathed a sigh of relief, so much so that soon I will complete my "cable park" by buying the power cables, which are now the only accessories Ricable that I lack.

What made you choose Ricable?

Well, what can I say... I was looking for a second RCA cable and came across the description of the cable on the world's largest online sales site... intrigued, I wanted to see where these cables were made. To my surprise, I discovered that they are made twenty minutes from my house! Exchanging views with a colleague of mine, he confirmed that these were very good products.

Primus Signal Andrea Ricable Review
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

As soon as I opened the parcel from the courier, I saw the quality of the box and said to myself: 'Boy, this is a serious product!'. When I opened the box, the initial feeling became reality. The fact that I found a sheet of paper inside certifying the lifetime warranty just adds to the level of the product.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I'm definitely not a starry-eyed audiophile, so my simple test was to connect the current source to my amp, pop in a CD and enjoy. I promise to extend the test session in the next few days. I didn't do a test by plugging in the old cable again, so I couldn't make an immediate comparison.

Primus Signal Andrea Ricable Review
What were your
listening impressions?

Frankly, I have to thank you, because this evening I, my amp, my speakers and (now I can say it) my cable have had a really nice evening, listening to music. I must say that the amp seems to have put the "turbo"; the sound seems more open to me (I don't know how much is psychological conditioning and if it really is so), but the most important thing is my satisfaction, that tonight for a couple of hours has reached the TOP.

Your conclusions.

This evening, talking with a friend of mine, I was expressing my perplexity, saying: "Was I right to spend that money for a cable? I have to say that while surfing your site I saw some products with a certain economic value, difficult to be interpreted by who is approaching this world (I also understand that it is not easy to explain what is behind the realization of certain products). Then I answered myself: absolutely yes! As already written above, the added value of the lifetime warranty is remarkable!

What made you choose Ricable?

For six years now I have been passionate about the world of Hi-Fi and, in small steps, I am creating a system that fully satisfies me. I do a lot of research and have often heard of Ricable. With Black Friday 2020 I finally decided to buy my first product Ricable and I am really happy about it.

Primus Signal Daniele Ricable Review
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The most impressive feature of this cable is its softness. In spite of the large section it is manageable, it is really well made. You can see the craftsmanship and I really liked the packaging: no frills and very little plastic. Just opening the box gives you the idea of a cable made especially for you.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

In order to evaluate this cable, after a few hours of listening, I decided to listen to a piece of music very dear to me that I find complex and able to put a system to the test. The cable made the piece, A Million Dreams, even more beautiful, deep and moving. Also Alexis Ffrench's piano pieces have benefited from the precision and space given by this cable.

Primus Signal Daniele Ricable Review
What were your
listening impressions?

I tried this cable with almost all genres. I think that it gives its best in the piano and violin pieces. Clean, precise and with a focus that with the previous cable, a QED, I had not found. Listening to a classical piece of music you feel you know exactly where each instrument is in the musical scene. Also, in pieces where the lead vocal is predominant, it makes you feel like the singer is right in front of you.

Your conclusions.

All I can say about this cable is that it is money well spent, and if this is the result with the entry level model, I don't dare to imagine what it is like with higher level cables. I hope to try the mains cables in the future. They sound fantastic and will soon be part of my system!

What made you choose Ricable?

The reasons were related to the fact that I was looking for a suitable INTERCONNECT cable for my new turntable. Not that it lacked one, but I wasn't happy with it. So I started looking on the various cable sites... I came across Ricable and went to the site. Very well done: tidy, precise, clear, I asked via chat for advice (being a neophyte in the high fidelity sector), and I found high professionalism, competence and honesty. Consequently I bought the cable.

What do you think about the construction

From the packaging to the finishing touches, there is no criticism to be made. The cables arrive rolled up just enough to avoid deterioration and are joined together with Velcro strips. The construction is impeccable: there are no defects. Everything is perfect, it seems to receive a necklace of pearls, so much so that I kept all the boxes!

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I have had the opportunity to "test" the cables comparing them with those supplied with the system. There is no comparison: the differences are there and you can hear them even if I don't have yet such a fine hearing to detect all the nuances. As I have already written, I am taking my first steps in high fidelity. The performance compared to the standards is unequivocally superior.

Review Primus Matteo Raffaello
Review Primus Matteo Raffaello
What were your
listening impressions?

I did several tests: initially connecting the system with the supplied cables (for those INTERCONNECT, a pair I borrowed). I played the first tracks through liquid music, selecting the same ones that I also have in vinyl format. So Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Mozart, Tracy Chapman, Miles Davis. Now I connect the system with the cables Ricable and it's a different story: no background noise, no hiss, no interference, a much cleaner and warmer sound. I repeated the experiment with the vinyl and it was really exciting!

Your conclusions.

In conclusion, I have been very pleased with the products Ricable. Both for the quality of the products as well as the cost of their products. The guys are very professional and serious, the shipments are very fast (24-36 hours), and if I had to upgrade I will surely come back to them. Also one thing not to forget is that on their products there is a lifetime warranty, and the possibility to return the cable if one wanted to upgrade (the value of the used cable is deducted from the new one).

What made you choose Ricable?

Reviews on the internet, then real tests done at home by buying one at a time the various cables Ricable, both power and INTERCONNECT. The cables I have are Dedalus, both mains and interconnects, and Magnus, also both mains and interconnects. The cables INTERCONNECT are all RCA, except for an XLR cable connecting the Cambridge Audio CXN.

Review Dedalus Magnus Raffaele
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Perfectly packaged and very elegant, robust but very flexible cables, both the power and RCA cables, attractive aesthetics, very well made connectors with a secure grip. The cables are very thick but not scary, they bend well and can be inserted into every little nook and cranny without problems.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I had already done a reviewbut the system was not fully wired Ricable and was not the same as now. I changed the Audio Research tube amp from VT60 to VS110 and added another amp, Mark Levinson No 29, previously connected with its original XLR cable on the Carmac preamp side, now replaced with Dedalus RCA cable and Carmac adaptors.

dedalus power proportions 3:2
Review Dedalus Magnus Raffaele
What were your
listening impressions?

Now that the whole system is wired Ricable, the sound is much warmer, very deep bass and, as I said then, the thing that struck me the most is the silence, the absence of any harmonic useless for the sound, detail at the maximum levels, soundstage that has been raised frighteningly (I think, however, also thanks to the two new amps). The Mark Levinson, connected with its cable, was very detailed, almost cold. Changing cable with the Dedalus has added a warmth to the sound, almost valve-like, that wraps you even at the highest volumes. The VS110 amp is a pleasure to listen to, and replacing the Netzkabel has given it a much deeper and more controlled bass. Dynamics are excellent, as if the power cords Ricable bring more power, I don't know but it feels that way.

Your conclusions.

I'm very satisfied with the cabling Ricable, I've never tried more expensive cables, but in my opinion they are at the top (they don't cost little, to wire everything I went out of my pocket to get another amp), but they are worth all the money spent and much, much more. I must also thank the owner for his immense availability.

It was not easy to decide but what I read, the opinions of those who had chosen Ricable were really comforting. I also asked the opinion of my trusted shop making comparisons with many cables available on the market, but I won't hide the fact that many times I was frightened by the purchase price. Ricable was the right alternative.

The packaging says it all about the quality of the product, and opening the boxes inside was a very interesting sight indeed. Immediately one notices an evident careful and painstaking use of materials that denote solidity, flexibility and a very special clamping force.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

My listening test was with the Dire Straits SACD, Brothers in Arms, and the Herbie Hancock SACD, Gershwin's World. I listened in both stereo and 5.1 multichannel mode. I listen to music at 360 degrees, choosing what to listen to according to the moment and the mood. I can just as easily relax to a piece of classical music as I can enthuse to a piece of hard rock or metal.

What were your
listening impressions?

By Herbie Hancock I go to track no. 8: It Ain't Necessarily So (Interlude). Very short, only 1:24, but where piano, double bass and trumpet chase each other in a furious race. Absolute clarity. Precise detail of every single instrument and the double bass absolutely firm in its place without overpowering. Stupendous! I continue with track n. 9: Cotton Tail, never heard a piano so dynamic and precise, the cymbals magnificently clear and bright. State of the art definition. After jazz, it's time for rock, with Dire Straits. Track no. 5: Why Worry, here the spatiality of the instruments is very wide, the arpeggio of the guitar is very detailed, as well as the small percussions that colour the track. Mark Knopfler's deep voice comes out so clear and detailed that I have the impression of having him in my room in the flesh. Spectacular. Track no. 6: Ride Across The River, in my opinion this track can challenge any hi-fi system. Endowed with an amazing dynamic, the whole sound spectrum is returned without fatigue and with great detail. Remarkable.

Your conclusions.

Procedo all’istallazione, mi accomodo sul divano e avvio l’ascolto.
Grazie Ricable.

What made you choose Ricable?

I was setting up a good level chain with speakers that I have owned for a long time and know well. I considered not replacing them now to appreciate the new level of the amplifier and source. I also initially left the cables I had built years ago unchanged. I was very pleased with the new system, but realised that the weak point was the cables Speaker (in particular) and INTERCONNECT. Hence the decision to upgrade. I did some research and heard good things about Ricable in both written and video reviews. At this point I decided to purchase the two products.

Review Marco 2 2
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The products are very well finished with high quality bananas. The very soft sleeves adequately protect the actual cable and the feeling that the whole thing is built with a high level of attention to detail is tangible. The packaging of the cables also confirms this feeling. Last but not least, they arrived two days after ordering. This is not fundamental, but also confirms the feeling of care for the customer as well as for the product.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Before plugging in the cables I listened to my test playlist that I use to test electronics, amplifiers and speakers to commit the before to memory. Björk, Soulsavers, Trentemøller, Manu Chao, Led Zeppelin, Sia and others played for about an hour. Then I plugged in the new cables and repeated listening to the same playlist.

Review Marco 2
What were your
listening impressions?

The change has been radical. The songs heard came from Qobuz with audio quality at least as good as CD and in several cases in high resolution. The level of detail and precison found in some cases made me think I was not listening to the same recording. Certainly the previous cables were not at the same level, but the amount of musical information reaching the ear is enormously greater. The most obvious case I encountered was with Marooned by Pink Floyd. And I'm talking about the entry level series. Now I will enjoy this good result for a while and then I can think about changing speakers.

Your conclusions.

What can I say? The cables alone cannot work miracles, but in a good technical chain they can make the best of what one has, and the listening experience, in my case, has benefited a lot. As always, I suggest to start step by step, because even the basic series is of an excellent level. Then there is always the possibility to grow.

and aesthetics of the product?

The cables Ricable have a high level of finish, really well made. They are very robust to the touch but have excellent flexibility.

Attilio Ricable Review
How did you test for differences?

The audio part of my system consists of a Denon AVC-X6700H, Sonus Faber Minima Amator speakers, Audio Pro SubZero subwoofer, S.M.S.L M400 DAC, iMac with ROON application (Qobuz), Pioneer 96 kHz CD player. The test to appreciate the listening differences was done by connecting and disconnecting my old commercial cables and listening to the same tracks several times.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

To assess the audio qualities of these cables I listened to pieces by Golden Duck Orchestra, Supertramp, Pink Floyd and Morrissey. The difference, and a notable one at that, was immediately appreciated. Even if they have not yet completed an adequate break-in period, the sound is very clean and transparent on the whole range of frequencies, especially the highest ones. Excellent cables.

Any differences from reference cables.
Did you find any?

I would say that the differences with my old cables were obvious from the first note. Clean and transparent sound with excellent dynamics.

What made you choose Ricable?

I decided to renew my whole Hi-Fi system. I needed something new, and to improve the quality. Also the accessories. Many things are new to me. Then someone mentions cables. We talk about it. But in the shop there is little knowledge. I know more by accessing the internet, and comparing myself on social networks. Many brands and models but I was struck by Ricable, for the images of its products and because it is an Italian company. The online support is also good.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Very fast in handling the order and shipping. Beautiful packaging and appreciated the care taken in packaging. I feel I can say that there is attention to the environment in the choice of packaging materials. Beautiful and well-kept cables. I like the protective sleeves, and not least the connectors with the factory logo in red and black to distinguish polarity.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

This is the most difficult part. I listened to the same tracks several times, both from the CD player and via Bluetooth, swapping cables several times. I drew my own conclusions. To be sure, I involved a family member in the tests without his knowledge. We came to the same conclusions, which I am very pleased about.

Lorenzo Primus Signal Speaker Review
What were your
listening impressions?

Starting with the fact that I had supermarket cables, the Primus Signal was not difficult. I dusted off several CDs: Queen, Sting, Tracy Chapman, Fabrizio De André and some classical music. Then via Bluetooth I tapped into liquid music, looking for live versions. Depending on the various tracks, I tried to concentrate on the voices and instruments. I noticed without much effort a better sound quality and a cleaner sound. For the Primus Speaker cables, which replaced normal OFC copper cables, after the first hours of break-in (a practice that not everyone shares), the enhancement of voices and a reduction in the mid-high range was evident. The effect faded and was more pleasant when the cables were lifted off the floor. It's nice to discover new little details from my tracks that I didn't hear before.

Your conclusions.

Did I make a good purchase? Of course you did. Could I have spent more on the Magnus series? You certainly could. Never say never. To those who told me to "not spend money on stupid cables", well, I'm sorry: you were wrong. I wanted more quality, that's all. It's a good experience. It gave me a pleasant feeling. I am satisfied. I recommend these cables as a first step to good listening.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

It starts well from the product packaging which is attractive and well cared for. The products are well constructed and very solid. The various mechanical contacts are well secured and guarantee an excellent connection to the electronics. The various cables are also very flexible, facilitating installation in tight spaces. Aesthetically, I find them really beautiful.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I started listening with the classic low-quality serial cables that are sold with the electronics. In sequence I went from Ricable Ultimate Signal, Ricable Magnus Signal and finally the Ricable Dedalus Signal. For the various cable changes I based myself on listening to albums that I know well.

What were your
listening impressions?

I first noticed the changes when I switched from the basic cables to Ricable Ultimate Signal. The things that I noticed most in this transition were a better presence of detail and more order in the sound reproduction. Then I switched to Magnus Signal, and it was here that I started to notice the biggest differences. The thing that impressed me most was the reproduction of the midrange. Here I heard hidden details that I couldn't hear with the previous cables. Finally I moved on to Dedalus Signal. What can I say, amazing. Wide and well reconstructed musical scene. Detailed mids, never fatiguing highs and well defined and precise bass.

Your conclusions.

They are well-built products with an excellent quality/price ratio, and they are Made in Italy. Certainly, considering my personal experience, I feel like recommending this brand to others. Nowadays all my system is wired with Ricable cables (except for the USB cable connected to the DAC because it is not yet commercialized - the USB cables, in the meantime, have been commercialized Ed.)

Where to start when changing Hi-Fi cables

The idea of rewiring one's Hi-Fi system may come from many directions. We may be newbies who are indulging in high fidelity music for the first time. In this case it would be more correct to talk about wiring then, rather than rewiring. We can be old fashioned audiophiles who, after having put aside their passion for some time, are now recovering it and want to get back to working on their electronics. We can also be enthusiasts who have decided to finally offer an adequate support to the components of their own system, going beyond the cables we find in the large organised distribution. Without exaggerating; the key word, As we have already had occasion to sayis "balance". But the question we want to answer today is: where to start when changing Hi-Fi cables?

Which Hi-Fi cable should I change first?

The following indications about where to start when changing Hi-Fi cables apply as long as the system is equipped with a similar level of cabling at each connection. The situation is different if you have already purchased some good quality cables. In this case, the priority of intervention would undoubtedly go to those that are the weakest points, if it is true that it is the weakest link of a chain that measures its strength. Having said that, ideally there is no such thing as the first Hi-Fi cable to be replaced, in the sense that the best solution would be to change them all at the same time. This would also ensure continuity of technical and constructional philosophy in every connection between each electronics. Easier said than done, though. For budget reasons, or even for the choice of changing one part at a time to see the differences, this is, most of the time, not possible.

Chain

So, we have to take the bull by the horns and decide which cable to start with in order to rewire our Hi-Fi system. Obviously, we are aware that this is always a starting point and that we must never be satisfied with a single improvement. Let's imagine that we have to resurface ten kilometres of a road. To be honest, it won't make much difference if we decide to resurface the route starting at the end, or if we choose to resurface the fourth kilometre first, then the seventh, passing through the first and continuing randomly. It may take us a little longer, but the end result will be basically the same. For a question of signal directionality, as well as, perhaps, mental order, it would be preferable to start "from the beginning". The first Hi-Fi cable that we suggest to change, in order of importance, is just the INTERCONNECT. After all, we are talking about the cable that transfers the signal from the source to the amplifier in most systems, therefore of central importance.

dedalus signal

How to continue wiring your Hi-Fi system

The second step we recommend is to replace of the cable Speaker . All connections are important, especially in order not to create bottlenecks in what is the journey from the power socket to the transformation into sound perceived by the ear. However, we would like to say that, perhaps, some cables have a slightly more dominant role. We have written this about the cable INTERCONNECT, now we repeat it about the cable Speaker . This is the cable that carries the now amplified signal to the components that will, and are responsible for, broadcasting it. It is the last step before reaching our ears.

Changing power cables

We now come to the last of the main cables (signal, power, power supply) that we recommend you change: power cables. Maybe because these are not important? Absolutely not. We indicate them as the ones on the last step of the podium in the wiring of the Hi-Fi system for two reasons: because they are so many and because they do not directly intervene on the signal, but on the power supply of the electronics. The vast majority of Hi-Fi systems have one cable INTERCONNECT, one Speaker and at least a couple of mains cables. The higher you go, the more the Hi-Fi chain has electronics with separate functionality within it. This means that the number of mains cables we will need will increase. Not exactly the best starting point when considering where to start when changing Hi-Fi cables. In this regard, the first Netzkabel that we recommend changing is the power amp Speaker , whether integrated or not. Nothing will be like trying empirical tests, however: "run" the Netzkabel cable you have purchased and see for yourself where the benefits will be most apparent.

Conclusion and important clarifications

High fidelity is a passion that never gets boring, among other reasons, because of the infinite possibilities. In terms of electronics, but also in terms of system configuration, for example. We have already dealt with the discourse on the number of variables in. Then, personal tastes, songs... you name it. Even when it comes to where to start wiring up your hi-fi system, the discussion does not stop with this article. Some customers have told us that they have rewired the electrical system, as well as the cables inside, with surprising results. of speakerswith surprising results. Today's content is an excellent starting point that will satisfy the request of all those who have a very good Hi-Fi system, even if without esoteric pretensions. So we can only suggest you to have a look at our catalogue, to understand where to start filing up your connections!

How to choose the best Hi-Fi cable: the series Ricable

The functionality of a cable, even in a particular context like Hi-Fi, is there for all to see. A cable connects electronics together, and does so better or worse depending on the quality of the materials, construction and many other aspects. Whether it is a mains cable, Speaker or INTERCONNECT, with a good support that connects them, the electronics in our Hi-Fi system will themselves work better than with a poor or standard cable. One point we have made in more than one of our articles(repetita iuvant): a Hi-Fi cable will never improve the sound of your system. All it will do is deteriorate it as little as possible - which is no small thing, in fact, so much so that it is important to choose the best Hi-Fi cable for your electronic specifications. The cables Ricable, in this respect, are designed to give the listener as much neutrality as possible.

Invictus Speaker power cable Hi-Fi

Choosing the best Hi-Fi cable

Imagine having spent an arm and a leg on a top-notch amplifier and speakers, only to have a connection between them compromise the sound quality. It would have been better to have thirty-one instead of thirty, wouldn't it? An audiophile knows that the choice of electronics is not only the result of an economic effort, but also of time, if we consider how long it takes to document and carry out the relative tests. So here comes an often underestimated characteristic: balance.

Let's face it: the day is yet to come when we will recommend one of our top cables to an audiophile with a normal hi-fi system. An exceptional cable in a decent system would do no harm, of course, but the same system would probably not be so detectable that you would notice any difference between it and a lesser, albeit good, support. The opposite, however, could be far more detrimental - and that's what we've been saying. A poor cable in a respectable hi-fi system will demolish all the effort that has gone into setting it up.

Keyword: balance. How much to spend on Hi-Fi cables?

Balance, then, plays a key role. Perhaps even more so than the amount of money we spend on assembling our entire hi-fi system, cables and electronics. Imagine a racing car with a superb engine and a very un-aerodynamic chassis. Or, still on the subject of High Fidelity, a system with a fine amplifier and poor quality speakers. A lot of effort for nothing.

When it comes to Hi-Fi cables, the same applies. It is not optimal to have good cables Speaker and bad cables INTERCONNECT, for example, just as it is important that the value of the system goes hand in hand with the value of the cables used for it. This is an unwritten rule and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt, but a good cost ratio between cable and electronics should be 10-15% of list value. For example: a 1.000 euro amplifier should have cables worth 100-150 euro. We would like to point out once again that the list price should be taken as a reference, in the sense that if we go to the second-hand market and buy an amplifier for 1,000 euro. the original value of which was, however, 5,000 euros.we'd spend 500-750 euro on cables.

Four series of Hi-Fi cables, for every wallet

Taking all these considerations into account, the Ricable cable production is divided into four different series, in order to meet all requirements in terms of quality and price. The four series of Hi-Fi cables Ricable, with the exception of the HDMI cables, are as follows:

  • Primus for Entry Level systems (all Hi-Fi equipment should have at least one Primus harness)
  • Magnus for high-end Hi-Fi systems
  • Dedalus for Hi-End systems
  • Invictus for high-end Hi-End systems

Here we repeat a concept that has already been expressed: It is not a bad thing to wire your electronics with a higher level of cable. However, it may be that a lower level of product will produce the same result, because the electronics themselves can reveal no more than that.

Hi-Fi cable balance and synergy

A certain balance must be preserved not only in the relationship between cables and electronics, but also between the Hi-Fi cables themselves. The first thing we would recommend is a levelling of the cabling. Rather than getting a very good cable INTERCONNECT and a bad one Speaker , it is better to have both of them at a medium level. The best thing would be to have the most uniform wiring possible, with the same series and brand for all connections. You have to start somewhere, and to help you choose the best Hi-Fi cable, we recommend that you take a look at our full catalogue Ricable.

We use digital to make the analog world better

What is the DAC and how does it work?

What is a DAC? We may not realise it, but every day we use a digital-to-analogue converter, more or less consciously. A DAC (the acronym stands for " Digital (to) Analog Converter") receives signals in computer language of "0" and "1" and makes them compatible with a system, with a PC, with a smartphone in order to be perceivable by the human ear. This is thanks to the appropriate cables, which in most cases are coaxial and INTERCONNECT.

It can be integrated, portable or measure more than 40 cm in width, it has a considerable number of digital inputs and from one to several analogue line outputs and it is made up of two parts, both of which must be of good quality for the final result to be good. Usually in cheaper DACs the digital part is of very good quality because the costs are low, while the analogue part, which requires economic effort, is poor. It is in the latter that the main differences between a low end DAC and a high end one lie.

This does not affect vinyl or tape lovers, who are natively analogue. The commercial explosion of the DAC coincided with the spread of liquid music. The arrival of the CD player in the eighties did not convince audiophiles because of the poor DACs in these early models, which were unable to produce a sound that matched that of vinyl. Early players suffered from jitter (which we could define as a time lag between the transmitted and received signal). This is when manufacturers and buyers started to give special importance to this instrument, which became more and more important in its autonomous and non-integrated form and, with the passing of the years, also more affordable. Ultimately, to answer the initial question "What is a DAC?", we could answer as follows: the DAC replaces the source to decode the digital audio signal, performing this operation in an optimal way.

marantz dac what is it

What to know when buying a DAC

The DAC is not only important, but fundamental, if you want to get maximum performance from your system. Its two main characteristics are signal-to-noise ratio and THD(Total Harmonic Distortion).

The signal-to-noise ratio is often abbreviated to SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio). It is a numerical quantity that relates the power of the useful signal to the power of the noise in any information acquisition, processing or transmission system. In the field of Hi-Fi, the signal-to-noise ratio is one of the fundamental parameters, even if not the only one, for the evaluation of the performance of a system as far as the cleanliness of the sound is concerned.

There is also the SINAD, conceptually very similar to the SNR, which along with the noise also includes the distortion generated by the circuit; it gives a more precise evaluation of the degradation assumed by a signal due to the non-idealities of the equipment it passes through. It is no coincidence that a battery-powered DAC has been found to work much better than one powered by a power supply.

Harmonic distortion and sampling in the DAC

A measure of the harmonic distortion present in a signal is the ratio of the sum of the powers of all harmonic components to the power of the fundamental frequency. Distortion factor, a closely related term, is sometimes used as a synonym. In audio systems, lower distortion means that the components of a loudspeaker, amplifier, microphone or other device produce a more accurate reproduction of an audio recording.

When it comes to digital, you also have to be careful about sampling. Sampling is, to use a metaphor, taking a recording and taking many 'photos' of it at regular time intervals. These photos are taken on multiple levels; the more levels we have, the less time there is between photos, so the less quality is lost. The number of bits in a DAC is really an index of how many levels I have; the sampling frequency is an index of how fast the photos are taken (the minimum is 24 bits at 192 kHz). Beware, though: there is no incontrovertible technical data to define which device is better. They all suffer or enjoy the effects of non-measurable factors, which can be, for example, good design or poor component layout.

The Ricable cables for your DAC: coaxial and INTERCONNECT. USB coming soon

Thereare many ways to connect the DAC to the source or amplifier. Here are the ones used in most situations. In the first case there are digital coaxial cablesThese carry the digital audio signal before it is converted to analogue and then amplified. Although they have the same connectors as the INTERCONNECT RCA cables, they have an entirely different function.

invictus coaxial

The most common usage scenarios are the connection between a digital source such as a CD player or PC (with the aid of an interface) and a DAC. The series are the canonical ones Ricableseries: starting from the entry level Primusand then Magnus e Dedalus, and concluding with Invictus. Rather similar are the optical cables, but these are less musical and more suited to other areas of use. The last type of cable is the USB cable, especially when connecting a DAC to a PC. Ricable is working hard on an optimal solution for this and, after the research and development period, will bring a product to the market that will guarantee its customers a connection with all the credentials.

TheDAC and amplifier are connected by the Primus cables. cables INTERCONNECTwhich are used whenever an analogue signal, in Stereo mode and with an RCA connection, is passed from one device to another. Once again, the Ricable offering is differentiated into the series Primus, Magnus, Dedalus e Invictus.
