I purchased the Ricable Supreme HDMI MKII cables in both 0.5 and 1.0 lengths to use as I²S connections between my Eversolo A8, a Laiv µDDC, and my Laiv Harmony DAC (in my main system) and the 0.5 cable between the Laiv µDDC and Laiv µDAC in my desk system. I decided to purchase these after reading many positive recommendations online and in /reddit. I was not disappointed. The sound is excellent and a huge step up from the HDMI cables I was using before.
and aesthetics of the product?
The construction is fantastic on these cables and they also look great. I like the silver and blue combination. The connectors are extremely well made and the braiding of the cables is also very tough and should withstand a lifetime of use. The connectors plug in with a good fit which is really important with the 0.5 cable which does not have a lot of bend in the short length.
I tested the cables by first burning them in for a couple of days and then performed a before and after test of my old HDMI cables versus the Ricables. The difference is noticeable, especially in soundstage width and depth. I also tested these cables against other types of digital connections from the Eversolo A8 to the Laiv µDDC and again, the I²S connection with the Ricable 1.0 m cable was a vast improvement. Same thing on the desktop system between the Laiv µDDC and the Laiv µDAC.
listening impressions?
I continued to play the system for a few days with all different types of music and at different volume levels. The detail is greatly enhanced without becoming brittle or fatiguing on long listening sessions. I did notice that the soundstage became even larger with another thirty hours of burning in. I was especially impressed at how lower level listening improved with more detail and not having to drive the speakers harder. I used these cables in my main system as well as my desktop system. The cables made a big difference in both systems with quality DACs and digital music.
Your conclusions.
These cables are extremely well made, are aesthetically pleasing, and vastly improve the sound over my previous HDMI cables when using them for the I²S connections between my streamer, my Laiv µDDC and my Laiv Harmony DAC and between the Laiv µDDC and µDAC. The sound stage is greatly improved over a what was already a very impressive soundstage with the Laiv equipment. The shipping was very fast from Italy to the US and there were no delays or problems. All of this at a very reasonable price. I ordered more cables for a second system.
What do you like?
– Increased soundstage and more detailed lower-level listening
– Very sturdy construction and a great tight fit for the connectors
– These are an excellent value for the cost

– The website could be more friendly for US/English shoppers. Especially the notifications that are sent when you place and order and they ship

Ho acquistato i cavi Ricable Supreme HDMI MKII in lunghezza 0,5 e 1,0 da utilizzare come connessioni I²S tra il mio Eversolo A8, un Laiv µDDC e il mio DAC Laiv Harmony (nel mio impianto principale) e il cavo da 0,5 tra il Laiv µDDC e il Laiv µDAC nel mio impianto da scrivania. Ho deciso di acquistarli dopo aver letto molte recensioni positive online e su /reddit. Non sono rimasto deluso. Il suono è eccellente e rappresenta un enorme passo avanti rispetto ai cavi HDMI che usavo prima.
e dell’estetica del prodotto?
La costruzione di questi cavi è fantastica e anche l’aspetto è fantastico. Mi piace la combinazione argento e blu. I connettori sono estremamente ben fatti e anche la trecciatura dei cavi è molto resistente e dovrebbe resistere a una vita di utilizzo. I connettori si inseriscono perfettamente, il che è davvero importante con il cavo da 0,5 mm che non presenta molte curve nonostante la lunghezza ridotta.
Ho testato i cavi prima rodandoli per un paio di giorni e poi ho eseguito un test prima e dopo dei miei vecchi cavi HDMI rispetto ai Ricable. La differenza è evidente, soprattutto in termini di ampiezza e profondità del palcoscenico sonoro. Ho anche testato questi cavi con altri tipi di connessioni digitali, dall’Eversolo A8 al Laiv µDDC, e ancora una volta, la connessione I²S con il cavo Ricable da 1 m ha mostrato un netto miglioramento. Lo stesso vale per il sistema desktop, tra il Laiv µDDC e il Laiv µDAC.
impressioni d’ascolto?
Ho continuato ad ascoltare il sistema per alcuni giorni con diversi generi musicali e a diversi livelli di volume. Il dettaglio è notevolmente migliorato, senza diventare fragile o affaticante durante lunghe sessioni di ascolto. Ho notato che il palcoscenico sonoro è diventato ancora più ampio con altre trenta ore di rodaggio. Sono rimasto particolarmente colpito da come l’ascolto a bassi volumi sia migliorato, con un maggiore dettaglio e senza dover pilotare i diffusori con maggiore intensità. Ho usato questi cavi sia nel mio sistema principale che in quello da tavolo. I cavi hanno fatto una grande differenza in entrambi i sistemi, con DAC di qualità e musica digitale.
Le tue conclusioni.
Questi cavi sono estremamente ben fatti, esteticamente gradevoli e migliorano notevolmente il suono rispetto ai miei precedenti cavi HDMI quando li uso per le connessioni I²S tra il mio streamer, il mio Laiv µDDC e il mio DAC Laiv Harmony e tra il Laiv µDDC e il µDAC. Il palcoscenico sonoro è notevolmente migliorato rispetto a quello che era già un palcoscenico sonoro impressionante con le apparecchiature Laiv. La spedizione è stata rapidissima dall’Italia agli Stati Uniti e non ci sono stati ritardi o problemi. Tutto questo a un prezzo molto ragionevole. Ho ordinato altri cavi per un secondo sistema.
