Liquid music is now an integral part of the Hi-Fi world and, day by day, because of its peculiarities, it climbs more and more to the top of audiophiles' favorite sources. Equipping one's system with an excellent USB cable allows one to maximize the digital interconnection between the computer and the converter.
Dedalus USB is the Hi-End USB cable that stands halfway between the top of the range Invictus and Magnus. This strategic position in our production enjoys that typical balance found between a cable that does not mind the price and one that does the exact opposite. Made at the same time as Invictus it takes many of the latter's technologies as a dowry, but at the same time looks to the experience we had with Magnus to achieve the right middle ground. Dedalus offers optimal separation of conductors given by the power supply and integrates isolation systems directly derived from Invictus.
The sound output is very balanced, with excellent control over the entire audio range and a distinct naturalness that allows for deep listening, characterized by proper separation of elements. The soundstage is well centered and the listening is airy and fresh. Certainly the best result is obtained with lossless source files, however the overall improvement is also noticeable in PCM and, amazingly, even with compressed formats, such as MP3.
When it comes to USB cables, the "material" carried is the bit, that is, computer data. So although our cables are specifically for Audio, we performed precisely purely computer tests to understand the limit of our artifact. As with all digital cables, length is an enemy, and the USB 2.0 specification certifies signal transport with lengths between source and receiver devices not exceeding 5 m. The Dedalus USB goes far beyond these distances and could compete in some length records. We have made cables much longer than will ever be needed in Audio and performed connection tests with a Hi-Fi DAC with 96 kHz audio files and a very simple passive pen drive.
The result, a result of the inherent quality of Dedalus USB, is impressive. We were able to connect the DAC up to a distance of 30 meters, playing 96 kHz files. With passive peripheral, which has no auxiliary power and has to receive the necessary power to operate right from the cable, we got up to 25 meters connected to a direct USB port on the PC. If we consider that USB cables on the market, for distances greater than 5 meters, must be equipped with one or more boosters, we understand from these tests the extreme ability of Dedalus USB to transport computer data from one point to another.
Dedalus USB is entirely designed in Ricable, starting with the cable and ending with the connectors. But what does this wonderful cable look like? To have optimal electrical characteristics and at the same time efficient insulation, we designed an asymmetrical geometry with concentric conductors for data and parallel conductors for power. In this way we achieved the least influence of the power supply on the data. Of course, the highlight is the insulation with an R-TEC Polyethylene for data and a cylinder system called RCS (Ricable Cylinder System) that allows maximum insulation and reduces the effect of shields on electrical capacitance. Finally, we brought the multiple shields (5 in all) and a Noise Reduction (RNR System) to Silicon.
The goal, perfectly hit, was to make a USB cable with correct impedance, low capacitance, low resistance and perfect shielding. From these assumptions came a very complex manufacturing geometry that, thanks to its balance, allowed us to obtain resounding results for this product, which oozes craftsmanship even from the connector, designed to best insulate the contact parts and to support this spectacular cable.
This Hi-Fi cable is made strictly by hand, in an artisanal manner, so we can also produce it in custom length, exactly as you would like it for your system.

Very fast delivery,nice design of the USB cable Dedalus.Just plugged in the sound is a little muffled,but after an hour of listening,it sounds divine,great detail and a remarkable openness of the scene.I have not had any feedback with other USB cables(only standard cable),but I am sure you can not go wrong with this product,given the benefit I got.
