The following review of the Primus Speaker MKII cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to bring about continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank José Sánchez for his time.

Review Primus Speaker Jose

Review Primus Speaker Jose
¿Cuáles fueron sus
impresiones auditivas?

Tus conclusiones.

  • primero por el equipo online, que te asesora sobre las dudas que puedas tener del cable o las recomendaciones para elegir el cable que mejor se ajusta a tu equipo Hi-Fi;
  • Por la seriedad y la rapidez de la entrega;
  • por la calidad del material y la construcción de los cables;
  • por el sonido que emiten.

What made you choose Ricable?

Well, simply by surfing the internet and seeing your website, which I found very interesting, I did some online research on the brand and other users' opinions, which I found to be positive, both in terms of product evaluation and in terms of the seriousness of the brand, as well as the quality of the product, which is why I decided to buy cables for my speakers.

Review Primus Speaker Jose
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Both the packaging in which the product is shipped, and the construction of the cable, which seems sturdy, and with a very good quality finish and outstanding product aesthetics, of high-end cables where little else can be said, no, there is nothing to criticize about these speaker cables, all of which are very well cared for and treated.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The improvement was substantial, I changed some KabelDirekt brand cables that were connected stripped and the sound change really improved a lot. The test was done with a Denon PMA-800NE amplifier, and the sources were a Dual DTJ 301.1 USB turntable (with AT-VMN95E audio-technical needle), a Denon DCD-800NE CD player, and a Denon DNP-800NE network player.

Primus Speaker MKII
Review Primus Speaker Jose
What were your
listening impressions?

I noticed how the improvement of the mid and low frequencies in the speakers increased, with a clearer and sharper sound, and I used Counting Crows(August and Everything After) records with phono, Chris Stapleton(Traveller) and Dire Straits(Brothers in Arms). Presuntos Implicados(Ser De Agua) with the Denon DNP-800NE and listened to Gregory Porter(Liquid Spirit), Joan Chamorro(Lua Amarela), Frank Sinatra(Greatest Hits), and finally with the Denon DCD-800NE I listened to Jarabe de Palo(Depende and La Flaca) and Van Morrison(The Healing Game and Magic Time).

Your conclusions.

Yes, of course I would recommend it and especially for the following reasons:

  • first of all for the online team, which advises you on any doubts you may have about the cable or to choose the right cable for your Hi-Fi equipment;
  • For the seriousness and speed of delivery;
  • For the quality of the material and construction of the cables;
  • For the sound they make.

What made you choose Ricable?

When I was talking to Ruud van Omera in Vlaardingen (the Netherlands) about cables for my new set, he came up with Ricable. I had never heard of it, but Ruud indicated that they are high quality cables for a reasonable price. In the end, it turned out to be the icing on the cake. I have speaker cables and an extension cable for my headphones and I don't regret it for a second. They definitely add value to my set and my headphones. With other brands you pay much, much more for the same quality.

Review Primus Speaker Andrew
Review Extension Jack 3.5 Andrew
What do you think about the construction
and the aesthetics of the product?

Ruud showed me and I felt the speaker cables and I was immediately impressed. They look fantastic, make a solid impression and make you feel like you are using cables that are many times more expensive. The banana plugs are of good quality and the workmanship is really very good. The extension cable is also fantastic and feels very solid. The packaging has also been thought through and there you can also see the typical Italian craftsmanship.

How did you carry out the tests? What songs did you use to test the cable?

I bought the speaker cables without listening on the advice of Ruud and was therefore a bit of a gamble. When I had connected them to my new set at home, I let the whole set play for about 30 hours without listening properly. After these 30 hours I sat down and the combination as it is at home sounds really fantastic. All components come into their own and reinforce each other.
The extension cable for my headphones is really great. When I first got the Focal Elegia I only played with the supplied 1.20 m cable from Focal. When I put in the Ricable extension cable and started listening I was quite surprised. It was more depth and detail in the music. It sounded even more balanced.I am really happy with these purchases.

What were yours
listening impressions?

My taste in music is very diverse. From light jazz, soft pop, blues, soul, rock and everything that comes close to it. I particularly prefer the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s of the last century. I listened a lot to my set and also a lot with my headphones. Both with great pleasure, it really sounds great. In the beginning I listened a lot to You and Your Friend by the Dire Straits and WOW what sounds good. Lots of details, depth and the atmosphere was well displayed. In the beginning I listened a lot to the song Leipe Shit Ouwe! from Bl3nder. Bl3nder is a collaboration between the Bas van Lier trio and Def P. Swinging jazz and a rapper. It's a band from Amsterdam and it's in Dutch but go and listen 🙂 So good, it's not normal. This song contains a lot of bass that is played by a double bass, something that can be difficult for an installation, but it really sounds great.
Slowly I started to listen more and more to other music such as Marcus Miller, Al Jarreau and Steve Gadd. I was getting happier and happier. When I later turned on Roger Waters and Eva Cassidy, the smile on my face only got bigger. It is a modest set that I have but it is all right. I couldn't get better for the money I spent. Open, clear and neutral sound that fills my living room with a warm blanket of music. I'm very satisfied.

Your conclusions.

Of course there are many other cables on the market, but if you are looking for high quality cables for an affordable price that also look good, I can really recommend any Ricable. The price-quality ratio is really great. I would therefore like to thank Ruud van Omera for recommending Ricable. If I ever upgrade my set, I will definitely think of Ricable when it comes to cables.

The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Roberto for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I chose Ricable because of the reputation it has earned over the years, evidenced in dozens of online reviews and mentions in specialized forums. After seeing pictures of the product and reading about its technical features, I almost made up my mind. Breaking the final delay was the possibility of trying the product at home for sixty days and returning it if it did not meet expectations.

Review Primus Speaker Roberto M
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The construction is impeccable, both in terms of the materials used and the assembly. Immediately, the cable conveys a feeling of sturdiness. My cables are banana terminated, and the quality of these is exceptional. The grip inside the bushings is tenacious and secure. But Ricable cables are not only well made, they are also very aesthetically pleasing and help give our system that serious, professional look we so enjoy.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I took advantage of the dual outputs of my amplifier to connect the speakers simultaneously with Primus Speaker MKII and my old cables: SUPRA Ply 2.0. In this way I did not have to rely on memory for listening impressions, but simply by operating the switch between outputs A and B of the amplifier, I could have an immediate comparison. I tried a variety of musical programs, from jazz to rock/pop and classical music, using both high-end recordings and decidedly bad recordings.

Primus Speaker MKII
Review Primus Speaker Roberto M
What were your
listening impressions?

I must say, unfortunately, that the cables Ricable, although they won my total confidence, did not affect the final result in any way. The sound emitted by my speakers is absolutely indistinguishable in switching from A to B. The sound of the Ricable is as beautiful, clear, full-bodied and extended as was that of the cables in my possession. By this I do not mean to say that all cables are the same, but certainly the ones I chose have nothing different from the ones I already owned.

Your conclusions.

Now I am torn: on the one hand, I would like to use the right of withdrawal and thus return the product and get my money back, perhaps to try others with superior features, even though the cost of the next model is already out of the budget for me; on the other hand, to keep them, simply because they sound good, have impeccable construction, and are also darn good to look at!

What made you choose Ricable?

I am a firm believer in Italian companies, your site is well structured and you offer solutions such as trade-ins, lifetime product warranties and a wide assortment of very good quality though entry level products. I had been looking for cables that would satisfy me for some time and did not want to spend a fortune, fortunately your site popped up in my search.

Primus Speaker Cinzia
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Aesthetically, the product, although entry level, looks much higher end, the attention to detail can be felt right from the packaging, the cable constructed well with materials that are excellent both to the eye and to the touch, the connectors remain firmly in place once inserted, the cable is not too stiff and contours perfectly between amplifier and speakers with a very pleasing aesthetic.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I tested the cable with two different amplifiers and the same pair of speakers, compared them with other cables that I have, from well-known brands, I started listening several times to those two or three songs that I usually listen to to do this kind of testing, namely female vocals, song with well pronounced bass and one where there are many instruments playing together.

Primus Speaker Cinzia
Primus Speaker Cinzia
What were your
listening impressions?

Listening to it turned out to be really pleasant, unlike other cables in my possession that enhanced the high range or the low range. The Primus Speaker MKII seemed to me much more balanced over all ranges, a true full range. The thing that surprised me so much was the neutrality of the sound but at the same time hearing the music I think unmodified from the specifications in the recording room. Definitely a very good impression from the first listening and the difference with other cables quite marked, a cable that is good for all types of music and although I tried them with only two amplifiers, definitely for all electronics.

Your conclusions.

In conclusion I am happy that I wanted to believe in this Italian brand and I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase, I will recommend my friends to try the products Ricable. Great idea to structure the products on several price ranges and to be able to upgrade in the future, my idea is to try also cables INTERCONNECT, I think I will do it soon.

Having an entry level system, the supplied cables were not the best in quality, so I followed the advice of a friend of mine who has known you for some time and visited your site and was impressed by both the quantity of products and the various price ranges present. I therefore decided to purchase the components I wanted.

What do you think about the construction

The cables are very nice and the finish is respectable, you can see with pleasure that they are made with maniacal care and that they have nothing to envy to the most emblazoned and expensive brands, I am not surprised by the lifetime warranty. Additional note in no small part they are made in Italy!

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I like all genres of music, so both vinyl and CDs not to mention digital albums, I own a lot of music... as a litmus test I decided to listen to my music both on vinyl and from the PC that I know very well with the old cables after which I installed the new ones... needless to say I heard the difference immediately!

I'll start by saying that I immediately listened to my favorite vinyls and it immediately jumped to my ears a great amount of detail that was not noticeable before not to mention a very clean and dynamic sound, nothing to do with the rather flat and muffled one before... then I played from PC other albums that I have in excellent format and here too I was very satisfied with the result, it almost seems to listen to other songs! I am talking about both instrumental and electronic music in both listenings.

Your conclusions.

I am thrilled with my purchases and can do nothing but recommend Ricable to everyone because, in addition to the quality, both a novice listener and a veteran of Hi-Fi find the product that suits them, without spending astronomical sums you have truly respectable cables... rated 10 at Ricable!

What made you choose Ricable?

I am already a long time customer Ricable, having purchased cables INTERCONNECT, and speaker cables, although only Custom type. A few days ago a friend suggested that I do some power cable testing with his new Ricable Primus Power. Until now I had only tried rather cheap or DIY cables.

Primus Review Power Klaus
Primus Power
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Extremely well made, solid and flexible at the same time; gives a truly remarkable feeling of "serious" sturdiness. The connectors are just perfect for solidity of insertion and stability. They insert with a bit of pressure, but once inserted, you can feel that the grip is really remarkable and there is no risk of the cable coming loose without deliberate intervention.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

We had a very long session, both listening to very familiar tunes and letting music change freely in search of listening pleasure. Changing the cables was done over and over again just to check their effectiveness. At the end of the session we also did a double-blind test where the chosen listener indicated his or her impressions without knowing which cable was being used at that time.

Primus Review Power Klaus
What were your
listening impressions?

Guys-what can I say? The improvement has been more than noticeable. The aspect that seems most remarkable to me is the very sharp decrease of certain roughness in mid-high frequencies, which with the comparison cables (Ricable Custom, various DIY cables based on TNT design, both using braided mains cables and shielded 3×4 mm² cables) on certain instruments (violin, organ) were "pungent" and almost annoying. With the Primus everything becomes more musical and euphonious, with even greater detail on the highest frequencies. Not to mention that the soundstage increases its size by at least 30 percent, leaving all the instruments more still and greatly increasing the effect of "air" between the instruments themselves!
To conclude: in the "blind" test, the tester recognized without hesitation the presence or absence of the Primus in the listening chain!

Your conclusions.

The Netzkabel often has more influence on the final result than the cables Speaker . I really did not believe that this item could have this "weight" in improving the sound obtained. I am now waiting for my friend to bring me his Ricable Magnus , of which he speaks very highly of me, saying that in his opinion it is still clearly superior to the Primus.

What made you choose Ricable?

I discovered Ricable by accident at a friend's house and inquired about purchasing an entry level RCA at the beginning of building my last system. After two and a half years, thanks in part to the Ricable upgrade plan, I have the entire system wired with Invictus. The last purchase was a Invictus XLR to connect the Rose RS150 streamer to the McIntosh C53 preamp.

Review Invictus XLR Lorenzo

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Definitely the best product for value for money. The construction is impeccable and with top-notch materials. The XLR cables have a very comfortable and precise clamping system. The shielding is really top-notch, since I have been using Ricable cables I have not experienced any kind of interference INTERCONNECT.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I used a test record containing several songs from different genres of music to evaluate each parameter of the system. I know this record very well so that I can pick up every little change right away. The first listen for me is always important even if the cable is not broken in, but it gives the first impact. The XLR was at first impact already a very high level cable. After a hundred hours of use I must say that the three-dimensionality of the streamer's sound is record-breaking.

Invictus XLR_View04_F
Invictus XLR
What were your
listening impressions?

The Invictus cables are extremely transparent. They neither add nor detract from the character of the system. The system simply sounds as it should sound. I could say that the soundstage turns out to be deep and wide and the instruments well defined in space. But these are all characteristics to be attributed to the system and the recording. The XLR has the tremendous merit of allowing all this to be conveyed with great neutrality and transparency. You know when listening is so pleasant and natural that you no longer think about the system? Here, the Invictus cables manage to give the system this characteristic.

Your conclusions.

My system is fully wired Ricable Invictus . It was a spontaneous upgrade path by first purchasing the Dedalus and then, thanks to the upgrade program, upgrading to the Invictus. My system has gained in all parameters revealing its characteristics to the fullest. I highly recommend Ricable products that already from the Dedalus series , up to the most valuable Invictus, give very high performance in terms of neutrality and transparency.

Audiophiles received their chosen cable at home and had thirty days to perform as many tests as they deemed appropriate. At the end of this period, audiophiles could decide whether to keep the cable or return it at no cost.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which users returned their impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Olivier for his time.

  • Trois Dedalus XLR + Dedalus Speaker

  • Pink Floyd: Animals et Wish You Were Here
  • Miles Davis: Kind of Blue
  • Youn Sun Nah: Immersion
  • Norah Jones: Come Away with Me
  • Amy Winehouse: Back to Black

The construction and aesthetics of the cable. Was it solid and beautiful to look at?

Cable with an excellent presentation, perfect aesthetics, it is a very luxurious cable. The packaging is solid, the overall presentation reflects the quality, the cable is soft, flexible and very easy to install. The connections are solid and of good quality. It is a cable that lives up to its ambitions in presentation.

Dedalus XLR Olivier
How did you test the differences. Do youconnect and disconnect different cables, for example, or another method?

I paired these cables with Dedalus Speaker, compared to low-end XLR cables, basically, the coupling with the speaker Dedalus is perfect. In fact, I made subsequent tests with the Dedalus Speaker, namely:

  • Dedalus XLR + basic speaker cable
  • Two basic XLR + Dedalus Speaker
  • Three Dedalus XLR + Dedalus Speaker
  • Four XLR + speaker base cables

I did several listens with different styles.

Listening impressions. How did you perform the tests? Which tracks did you use to test the cable Ricable?

The combination with the Dedalus Speaker is fabulous, the timbres are clear and natural, the sound image gains in spatialisation, it feels like being at a live concert. Instruments are ideally positioned. From the extreme corners to the deep bass, everything is represented, nothing is missing. A very nice combination, I think I will continue to explore the Dedalus series.

Any differences from reference cables. Did you find any?

It's hard to compare it with another high-end XLR, I had first-class XLRs as a base, so the difference is noticeable. Everything is there, already the Dedalus Speaker had clearly improved listening in all areasbut with the Dedalus XLR the speakers develop their subtleties and precision. This combination is almost indispensable.

The following review of the cable Dedalus Power is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the programme devised by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophilesin order to bring about a continuous improvement of the products in the catalogue. Last but not least, those who take part in the programme receive a certificate at home, with the aim of certifying that the customer has become a full member of the ' Ricablefamily'.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned his or her impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Raffaele for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I've known you for a long time now, I have the whole system wired with your cables both INTERCONNECT and power cables but with the latest test I've done you never cease to amaze me, honestly sometimes I struggle to understand where the witchcraft is that allows the quality of your cables to be so evident. Anyway I got to know you through the internet. I would like to use your cables to connect power amps to speakers, but being very long and passing inside a bookcase would be very difficult and I imagine expensive to do.

Review Raphael Dedalus Power
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The cable is massive, the quality is immediately apparent at the touch, despite everything it is very flexible and the construction is well cared for at all levels. The quality of the packaging is remarkable in both robustness and aesthetics, nothing to say. Perhaps the only small flaw is the lack of phase indication on the power plug.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I had the system connected to the mains with a common power strip where all your cables connected. Then I bought a cheap, 150 euro, eight-output Schuko filtered power strip on the Internet and connected it to the mains via your Netzkabel Dedalus replacing the common power strip that everyone uses at home.

Review Raphael Dedalus Power
Review Raphael Dedalus Power
What were your
listening impressions?

After having connected everything, switched on and warmed up the system as usual, I start listening and immediately I notice a cleanliness in the voice and in the details, the sound scene was much more detailed and high, the spatiality increased, the bass range powerful and clear as never before. Obviously I have tried with various CD records, vinyl and DAT cassettes but the result was the same, I was a bit incredulous having the whole system already wired Ricable, but surely the power strip with normal cable was a bottleneck and did not allow the system to express itself at its best. Now everything is cleaner, every frequency has benefited and it is like listening to a different system... magic? I don't know, but the differences are evident I think even to a neophyte.

Your conclusions.

What can I say, once again you have amazed me with your products which, as I have already written to you, are not very cheap but once you have listened to them and tried them, they immediately make you forget the money you have spent and the fights with your wife for buying them. Absolutely to recommend to anyone and I congratulate you again on your work.

The current cable in place...

The current cable in place than I'm looking to upgrade is an Auralic USB cable sold with my old Auralic Vega today replaced by a Denafrips Iris + Pontus combo. This cable seem basic with a shield and ferrites on both sides. Arrive the Ricable Dedalus USB cable. The build quality and packaging is High-End, one of the best I have seen on the market and the best in this price range.
In the following I give my feedback of the Ricable Dedalus USB cable with some listening sessions. All results are not especially due to the cable because the synergy of the system and some compensation are complex. My comments has to be very relativized to my audio context and also to my own tastes which can differ from another person.

Review Nicolas Dedalus USB
Review Nicolas Dedalus USB

Track 1 - Requiem: first impression is a more physical palpability and stability of sources in soundstage. A kind of calmness gives the feeling the music flows slowly, it is a more romantic sound but also I have the feeling it misses me some life.

Track 7 - Non believer: again I can ear this romantic feeling, a little opacity perhaps due to a mid bass little emphasised? Comparing my Auralic USB cable, it misses some slam in the very low bass and also some dynamism. The voice of the singer lacks for me some transparency, she seems a little blurred. But in all cases the sound is very pleasant, very musical but perhaps not on the "master sound" philosophy.

Track 5 - Tourdion: I ear a better depth of soundstage but always this kind of softness which gives a globalised presentation of music when I prefer a more separated sound. But the sound is more musical, I listen to the whole track and some others because I take a lot of pleasure.

Track 1 - Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 1: a very pint point soundstage image with a better feeling of depth, I really like this but always this kind of softness, very pleasant, which give the desire for a long listen session. But it lacks for me a kind of directness, I would like the same musicality but with a more direct sound, to be more inside in the mastering studio.

Track 1 - Chord Left: I can follow each touch of piano more accurately and I ear a more things never eared before in the highs. A very good listening session, the Ricable is a good match with this kind of recording, I really like what I ear.

Track 1 - Hommage à Moondog: the music play very slow, it misses some involvement, the track is boring I think due to less dynamic.

The following review of the Primus Signal cable is the result of an initiative with the French Facebook group 'Audiophile francophone et haute-fidélité'. The initiative was created to collect feedback from audiophilesin order to bring about a continuous improvement of the products in the catalogue. The audiophiles received their chosen cable at home and had thirty days to perform as many tests as they deemed appropriate. At the end of this period, audiophiles could decide whether to keep the cable or return it at no cost.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Benoît for his time.

Review Primus Signal Benoit

  • d'un préampli DIY très optimisé et inspiré du preamp Elektor;
  • d'un lecteur CD professionnel Sony CDP-D11 utilisé en drive via sa sortie S/PDIF;
  • d’un DAC Rega;

Review Primus Signal Benoit

The construction and aesthetics of the cable. Was it solid and beautiful to look at?

With a nice, sturdy cardboard box, the packaging of the cable is very simple, so much so that on the box, in addition to the cable model and series, there is a serial number, a quality control test sticker and, inside the box, a lifetime warranty.
The visual appearance of the cable is pleasing to the eye and to the touch and although relatively thin (9 mm in diameter), this Primus Signal cable remains very flexible. As for the fabric braid protecting this cable, the mixture of white and grey is timeless and goes everywhere. The gold-plated RCA plugs with a Teflon-like insulation and a satinised aluminium body seem well made.

Review Primus Signal Benoit
How did you test the differences. Connecting and disconnecting different cables, for example, or another method?

For the test I used the relatively atypical sound system in my office, it consists of:

  • by a pair of 2-way active monitoring loudspeakers of the Samson Rubicon R8A type, which, although not without flaws, have the advantage of using a pleasant ribbon tweeter for high-level close listening 😉
  • by a highly optimised DIY preamplifier inspired by the Elektor preamplifier;
  • from a Sony CDP-D11 professional CD player used as a unit via its S/PDIF output;
  • by a Rega DAC;
  • the atypical side also stems from the fact that the connection between the balanced R8As and the unbalanced preamplifier is made via two line transformers, mainly to create galvanic isolation between the preamplifier and the loudspeakers, but this is also the solution I had found at the time to calm an unpleasant R8A tonic around 1 kHz.

As for the course of the test: the initial idea was to compare the Ricable Primus with a Sommer Cable Onyx and an Adam Hall 4 Star by connecting them alternately between the DAC and the preamplifier.

Listening impressions. How did you perform the tests? Which tracks did you use to test the cable Ricable?

As music choices I used CD albums:

  • Henri Salvador, Chambre avec vue
  • Trois Roues sous un Parapluie, Sous les Chapeaux de Roues
  • Stocks, Enregistré en Public

First comparative listening gave Ricable a very slight advantage but nothing really transcendent... Such a slight advantage that I wondered if it wasn't just an impression related to the test method...
So, taking into account the fact that the line transformers between my preamp and my speakers have their own sound colour intended to suppress an unpleasant tone from the R8A around 1 kHz, I replaced them with Primus cables, just to see: I expected more, but there's a big surprise!
In principle, without the transformers, I should have immediately found this unpleasantness when listening but, although very lively, listening was not tiring and the R8A's defect was relegated to oblivion. I then replaced the Primus with a set of Adam Hall 4 Star type RCA cables and there the unpleasant tone reappeared immediately...

Review Primus Signal Benoit
Any difference from the reference cables. Did you find any?

In conclusion, the Primus is a cable that, under the conditions of my test, offers a lot of listening smoothness. It is probably a cable that will work well with speakers that are a bit edgy (I am thinking in particular of some Klipsch) or when the amplifier/speaker combination is a bit too lively, even tiring!

The construction of this cable is as it appears. A very well presented cable, a high-end finish, the bananas are very well finished and seem solid. The cable is flexible, silky and very pleasant to the touch. A cable that oozes luxury. The presentation in the box is 'very Italian', which is no problem for taste. In the packaging you can see that it is an 'Italian' cable, perhaps a bit too much...

I tested the cable by disconnecting the reference cable which is an Ecosse CS 2.3, tried the two replaced cables and then only one. Several tests were carried out, in different sessions. The first impression was a bit negative, I felt a cold and dry cable, but after a few hours this cable developed its potential. A break-in was necessary before appreciating the high qualities of this cable.

I have performed tests on different types of tracks. I use an Audio-GD DAC with Bluesound streamer and Qobuz. In digital listening I listen more to jazz, rock, French variety, 80s ... I also use vinyl with a selection:

Any differences from reference cables. Did you find any?

Compared to the Ecosse we have a cable that develops more bass, especially on the vinyl side, but also more detailed and precise treble. Sometimes the bass is a bit too far back (not on the same plane) especially in digital listening. It is more on the vinyl side that makes the difference with more specialisation. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to much, but listening to the Ricable Dedalus Speaker, after hours of break-in, I found it airy, detailed, with warm mids accompanied by tight bass. The price is justified in this cable category. It is a cable to listen to, to appreciate and definitely to keep. It would be good to accompany it with others from the same series and be able to judge the associations.

I wanted to try this new cable...

I wanted to try this new cable from Ricable, the RCA Invictus Signal, because I have in my possession the USB cable Magnus which impressed me with its music transmission quality.
The Invictus Signal cable arrived in a luxurious package, providing optimal protection for shipping. Once unpacked, the cable has a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing design, the finish is flexible, and the connection plugs are of high quality and equipped with a perfect latching system to avoid sudden disconnections.
It has a certain weight given all its elements, but remains flexible. It is easy to guess that we are in the presence of a 'top of the range' cable, listening will certainly confirm this.

Invictus Signal Erick

The Invictus Signal RCA cable is placed between the Audia Flight CD player/DAC and the Rogue Audio RP-5 preamplifier.

On first listening, I immediately realise that I am in the presence of an exceptional cable. The quality is there and without break-in. Compared to the one I have had for 4 years now, almost no difference between the two even though the latter is also 'high-end' but two and a half times the price of theInvictus. So I decide to leave it on overnight plus the next day to push the comparison.

Invictus Signal Erick

I was pleasantly surprised by the qualitative progression of the restitution of theInvictus. It reproduces with great finesse the most precise timbres, a luminous magnet, the treble that rises higher, which makes voices present, vibrant, to the point of better feeling the energy that the singer gives off, without forgetting the more serious tense and fast ones that don't just descend lower, they are more percussive, more present, vibrant without cluttering up the whole spectrum, they give the impression of coming from further away. All this gives a more realistic scene that not only gains depth but dynamics, such that everything becomes palpable.

This Invictus RCA cable not only divinely conveys music but also all the emotions that come with it... this cable conveys life. Kudos to the Ricable team and... thank you for pushing the musical experience even further.

For listening I used:

The following review of the Invictus Speaker Reference cable is the result of an initiative born with the collaboration of the French Facebook group 'Audiophile francophone et haute-fidélité'. The initiative was created to collect feedback from audiophilesin order to bring about a continuous improvement of the products in the catalogue.
We thank Ludovic for his time.

Review Ludovic Invictus Speaker
Review Ludovic Invictus Speaker

Simple construction with a good look...

Simple construction with good looks. The construction is more than serious, the cable has a fairly large diameter. The banana cable connection system with bayonet guarantees a good fastening.
Although on my Vimberg speakers a slightly thicker banana plug diameter would have been ideal. But overall it holds and we are serious about the construction of the cable, on this point it is a 4.5/5.
As far as sound reproduction is concerned, a treble and midrange that goes very high but very neutral and ultra-precise make the vocals magic in both classic pop rock and hip hop.
The bass goes down very well and is also very detailed, I just notice that on the piano it is slightly set back compared to the high mids, nothing wrong with that but at first it unsettled me a little, certainly too used to the performance of my Wireworlds which go less far, but which put the bass a little further forward.

Review Ludovic Invictus Speaker
Review Ludovic Invictus Speaker

Note that this phenomenon appears on esoteric DAC digital sources and esoteric SACD CDs but disappears completely on analogue sources, on MKII turntables the bass takes its place.
I have done several tests and cannot explain this phenomenon.
Again, I just think that my Wireworld tends to project the bass a bit or play it differently. The soundstage is very cohesive. The spatialisation is very good and the positioning of the various instruments very precise, more so than with my cable.
The note attack here is very good, very fast, it is clear that the cable does not create resistance, that the music is fluid and that the amplifier can express itself very loudly and very precisely.
Yes, I recommend this cable 100% for those who want very detailed, very neutral and very precise listening.
Again, the reproduction of every detail, every intonation are ultra precise and fast, the music flows from the amplifier to the ear without restriction and the sound blooms like a flower. A great success with exemplary production!

The following review of the Primus Signal cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned his or her impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Gilberto for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

Wanting to replace my old cables, and having read positive reviews about the Primus series, I decided to try the Primus RCA to connect the phono preamp to the amplifier. So I logged onto the Ricable website, selected the Primus RCA cable, and after looking at the specifications and seeing that the price was within budget, I decided to buy it.

Gilberto Primus Signal Review
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The Primus RCA cable is delivered in an elegant box. Aesthetically the cables are pleasant to look at, the outer braiding is a nice grey-white colour and they are flexible but not soft. The connectors are gold-plated and make a good grip on the RCA sockets of both the amplifier and the phono preamplifier.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The comparison was made with my old Monster Cable Interlink 100 cables. For the comparison I used the following rock music LPs: A Momentary Lapse of Reason, 45 RPM, Pink Floyd. And the following jazz LPs: Time Out, The Dave Brubeck Quartet; A Love Supreme, John Coltrane.

Gilberto Primus Signal Review
What were your
listening impressions?

For comparison, I listened to the same track first with Monster Cable and then with Primus. I repeated the test, alternating cables, for the following tracks:

  • Pink Floyd: The Dogs of War and Round and Around from A Momentary Lapse of Reason
  • John Coltrane: Resolution and Pursuance from A Love Supreme

What can I say, the Primus won on all fronts: more transparent, neutral and musical, the sound more defined and wide. For its price it surpasses the others at less than 100 euros after several comparative tests. There is no doubt about it: my system has gained.

Your conclusions.

Satisfied with the purchase, in fact, I also bought Primus Coaxial to connect the CD to the DAC of the Denon amplifier and I already have plans to replace the Speaker cables, again with the Primus line. Excellent and well sounding cables and last but not least made in Italy. Highly recommended for all mid-level systems.

What made you choose Ricable?

Driven by past experiences I decide to buy, also for the video section, some cables Ricable considering the recent upgrade. The attention is directed on the HDMI cable in question, which has the difficult task of transmitting to the Sony OLED 77″ the audio and video stream output from the Panasonic UB9000. I want to disprove the rumors about the HDMI connectors, although not as tangible as analog, can give an extra gear in both the video and audio section, and when you have to convey signals in 4K from Blu-ray and then transport a huge amount of data per second, they are crucial, calculating the excellent price then at which they are sold, I see no reason to do without, regardless of the AV chain that you have. Comfortable and versatile, they allow an excellent flexion even in the most desperate cases. And if the excellent workmanship of the cable wasn't enough, consider also the lifetime warranty, the excellent after-sales service, the speed of shipping and the attention that a company like Ricable has always had towards their customers.

Review Supreme HDMI Marco
supreme hdmi measure awg conductors
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The product is solid and well built, the connectors are not bulky and, on the contrary, allow a firm fixing without occupying too much the back of the electronic equipment. The cable is soft enough to allow even the most difficult bends and the available cuts already serve most users.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I have connected the cable to a 77″ Sony OLED to allow the transmission of films from the Panasonic UB9000. Without any calibration I have immediately noticed a totally different colouration, a better fluidity in the scenes but, what has struck me even more, is the difference in the listening: incredible how a cable, all in all dedicated to the video section, is able to give prominence also to the audio part. Test disc: The Dark Side of the Moon in Blu-ray with DTS-HD Master 5.1 encoding. The choice is obvious, but that multichannel mix is ideal (as for the stereo counterpart) for the cartridge.

Review Supreme HDMI Marco
What were your
listening impressions?

In one word: detail. An HDMI cable has to convey an incredible amount of information and maybe it is the cable that needs more attention nowadays, also thanks to the multichannel versions of many albums and concerts. The sound, as I said, is much more detailed, not at all tiring, the separation of the instruments is highlighted and the soundstage acquires a more defined position in front of us. What I like is the sincerity of the cable, let me explain better: this cable does not hide anything, it does not create artifices, neither of image nor at a musical level, it gives back the flow as it has been conceived.

Your conclusions.

A cable to buy with your eyes closed, both for the excellent workmanship and for the incredible quality made available in relation to the price at which it is proposed. In the myriad of proposals that we can find today on the net, I found in this company concreteness and fast assistance, and for these two factors alone I am decided to come back for my next components.

Review Invictus Signal Dan

Review Invictus Signal Dan

I therefore strongly recommend them to anyone who owns a good system that has evolved but who would have stayed with RCAs that are more entry-level in the range; they are a perfect evolution/makeover.

After avery friendlyexchange ...

After a very cordial exchange with Ricable via e-mail, during a Loan vs. Review/Test, I decided to play along. Looking for benchmarks for my RCA cables, connecting in my case a Streamer/DAC to an integrated amplifier, I am convinced by the "friendly" and transparent approach of Ricable.
I already have a couple of Italian cables of a less known brand distributed in France (ALEF). They give me great satisfaction, but having acquired them at the same time as a change of electronics, it is always difficult to form a precise opinion on the contribution of the cable itself.

Review Invictus Signal Dan

Also, a recent listen to my cables on another system disappointed me greatly, so I ended up challenging my RCA. What better way than to test something else, from the comfort of your own device and system, then...?

I order the top of the range, theInvictus Signal RCA, 1 m long, sold at a catalogue price of 490 euros. With this choice I try to make a consistent comparison test, based only on the price range (mine is around 750 euro). The ordering and logistics went like clockwork and the cables arrived in perfect condition, within days...

Review Invictus Signal Dan

The packaging is clean and simple, but I find it a little difficult to take the cardboard box out of its case. At least the cable is well protected.
Listening: I do a lot of A/B listening, regularly switching to the same tracks in my tests. Then I try to spend a whole week just on the Ricable cables, then back to mine.
Conclusions varying musical genres: the Invictus are without doubt very good cables in their price range, and hard to beat with the discount given by Ricable during this promotional operation.
They are extremely well made, feel solid, don't expect premature stripping, and the banana plugs are very soft but connect firmly and benefit from being screwed on. They are quite thick but still a little more flexible than mine. From the very first minutes, it is above all the soundstage that strikes me: wide AND deep. If I stay with the impression that it is much bigger than the one I know, after a few turns it is anything but, but the 2 makes/models are actually playing on the same field.
As for timbres, nothing specific to note, I find the timbre of my valve amplification intact. Respect for the electronics then. I find the listening pleasant and not tiring, a very nice medium.
Moving on to more "muscular" music, theInvictus lags behind my ALEFs: it goes down less in the bass and goes up less in the treble, the spectrum seems a bit planed at its ends.

This removes a bit of depth on some tracks, which are less acoustic/intimate. However, I would not say that the spectrum is unbalanced.

The Invictus Signal are very good cables, very cleanly made, I like the spirit of the company Ricable, they offer a very pleasant and balanced listening experience and respect the upstream components. So I highly recommend them to anyone with a good system that has evolved but would have remained at the level of entry level RCA cables, they are a perfect evolution/upgrade.

What made you choose Ricable?

I have known the brand Ricable for a long time, because years ago I had the opportunity to buy two HDMI cables, which I still use today and appreciate with great admiration for the construction level and for the overall performance both audio and video. I had never had the chance to test in person the Hi-Fi cables made by this company, and since the occasion arose, I wanted to do it, also because I was really very curious.
As an old pioneer of high fidelity (since the seventies), I have tried many brands of cables, more or less emblazoned, and after many direct comparisons I can say, with certainty, that it is absolutely not the price that makes the intrinsic quality of each of them.

Invictus Signal Raphael
Invictus Signal Context
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The three-metre, RCA-terminated cable Invictus INTERCONNECT that I purchased is a beautiful artefact, with attention to every detail. The packaging, in which it is sent to you, is very important, and inside there is a padding that protects it from any shock. In substance, a lot of attention has been paid to the details that really make the difference, such as: sock, connectors, soldering, gilding. The cosmetics have also been taken into account, because the cable really does look impressive.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

So, I have immediately connected it to the digital player, and after having let it run in for about forty hours, as it is right, I have started to listen to it, with attention, putting it directly in comparison with cables of all importance, and of which I know the timbric very well. The comparison has been made with the cables in my possession, Transparent Plus, Ultra, YBA Diamond, Mandrake in silver (famous cable in the nineties), cables that I appreciate very much for the soft sound, the dynamic contrast, the width of the imaginary soundstage, the depth of the image.

Invictus Signal Raphael
Invictus Signal Raphael
What were your
listening impressions?

For the test I used the most varied musical material possible to bring out all the features of the component under test, namely:

  • Baroque
    • Vivaldi'sFour Seasons, Archiv disc
    • Händel, Music on Water
    • Händel, Concerti grossi
  • Pop, rock, fusion
    • Peter Gabriel, Up
    • Pink Floyd, The Endless River
    • Dire Straits, Dire Straits
    • Al Jarreau, Tenderness
    • Dead Can Dance, Into the Labyrinth
    • Chick Corea, Plays
    • Pat Metheny, The Road to You
    • Genesis, Seconds Out
    • Dave Grusin, Cinemagic
    • Steely Dan, Gaucho
    • Karen Souza, Essentials
    • Tracy Chapman
  • Italian music
    • Mina, Fiorella Mannoia, Lucio Dalla , Francesco De Gregori, Fabrizio De André

Your conclusions.

Well... theInvictus, after a long run-in period, has proved to have some remarkable features, such as:

  • timbre balance: each frequency has its own position, without any prevarication;
  • transfer of dynamics: it seems that the signal has fewer obstacles and arrives with more energy and speed;
  • damping: faster transients are damped, and well articulated;
  • silkiness: the mid-high range has a texture that never becomes fatiguing, even during long listening sessions;
  • image width: the speakers disappear, the greater the overall realism;
  • depth: this dimension, too, has expanded;
  • noise abatement: benefits from increased micro and macro contrast.

I needed two 1m long RCA cables. I was looking for a good compromise for my mediocre little system without spending a fortune. Given the thick jungle that exists in this sector, I did some research on the web with acquaintances and enthusiasts and, after a careful search, I chose Ricable Magnus .

Magnus Signal Vincenzo

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

At first glance, I liked the packaging alone. Then inside the legendary Magnus wrapped and held in place by Velcro... simply fantastic. Let's talk about the pins: once inserted and screwed they are still! I really liked the quality of the outer cover. Then I had a problem with the courier: I immediately contacted Ricable and they solved the problem in five minutes. Absolute helpfulness.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I wanted to compare them with other cables, but I couldn't because I have the power amps in a closed cabinet, so it is very complicated to unplug and re-plug them. So I just listened to my favourite tracks like the legendary Rachelle Ferrell, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd.

Magnus Signal
Magnus Signal Vincenzo
What were your
listening impressions?

I listened to my usual albums I described above. Especially in the mid-to-highs, much more stage presence and slightly clearer tones. Not to mention Mark Knopfler's voice or guitar... It's a real treat. I don't know if it's suggestion, but I think I've made a quantum leap with my system and probably, little by little, if I have the chance, I'll change all the cables of my system starting from the cables Speaker up to the power cables.

Your conclusions.

In conclusion, I was very pleased with my purchase. In my own small way I wanted a quality cable without spending a fortune, and I succeeded with Ricable Magnus . I hope in the future to make the leap to a higher quality model, but I am already very satisfied with this one.

What made you choose Ricable?

Passionate about high fidelity and electronics, I like very much to discover and try new products to insert in my audio system to get as close as possible to the emotions of a live listening. I chose Ricable because I've known for a few years now the quality of its products, completely Made in Italy, and the availability, after the purchase, of returns and upgrades of the product with one of a higher level.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

As I expected, as soon as you open the box you have the feeling of having in your hands a special product, aesthetically cared for in every detail. For a USB it is not only big but really impressive, even bigger as a section than theInvictus AES/EBU I owned. It is sturdy but compared to cables of other known brands it is not so rigid, guaranteeing a certain flexibility of installation. The packaging is adequate to represent the prestige of the product contained.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The listening tests were carried out using for about twenty hours the USB cable Invictus Ricable outgoing from the USB filter to the DAC instead of the standard one. These are the tracks used for the tests:

  • Pink Floyd, Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-7) 16/44 Flac Local

What were your
listening impressions?

The adoption of the USB filter between the source and the DAC had already made a clear improvement by practically eliminating any background noise or interference that can afflict this type of connection; with the standard cable at the output of the filter I noticed however a not very exciting sound. Connecting theInvictus USB, the sound has taken on a definite analogue imprinting; beyond the resolution of the reproduced file, the digital compression effect has disappeared and I have the impression of always hearing in high resolution. And that's what I was looking for. As with other INTERCONNECTdigital cables, I couldn't really recognise any other benefits such as a fuller bass, clearer treble or more defined midrange. Perhaps with more hours of use later (I only broke them in for about 20 hours) you might notice other improvements.

Your conclusions.

After replacing the mains cables, then the INTERCONNECTand finally the Speaker cables, the inclusion of the latest Invictus USB fully met my expectations and made listening to 'liquid' music much more satisfying. I'm sure that the Magnus and Dedalus would also have been beneficial, but having other cables of category Invictus I preferred theInvictus USB.

  1. avec écoute au casque et en branchant les Belden sur canal droit et Ricable gauche et en ecoutant des enregistrements mono pour comparaison directe, puis inversment;

Regarding Primus RCA...

As for the Primus RCA, in terms of visual appearance and build quality, 5 stars! Very good finishing and an already very well cared for aesthetic for the entry level. The cables have been tested against a pair of classic Belden 8403. Two tests were carried out:

  1. listening with headphones and connecting the Belden to the right channel and the Ricable to the left and listening to mono recordings with direct comparison, then vice versa;
  2. listening on speakers in a dedicated listening room.

The results in mono/direct comparison/headsets: slight roughness in the upper register with the Ricable and a very slight improvement in the bass with the Belden.

Joel Batoca plant

The results in Stereo: Ricable: very sharp and precise image of the position of the sound sources in the staging range but with a very small scene width, the Belden are less precise in positioning, with a slightly more diffuse image but with a much more important scene width.
Conclusion: on my system and for my kind of listening I found the Ricable 's interesting, but they don't bring, at present, an evolution in the desired direction.

What made you choose Ricable?

I've been using mid-level cables for years, thinking that they were not "indispensable/important" in the search for a good listening sound. I read a lot of reviews and after a couple of them on the products Ricable I was convinced to take the step for some "important" purchases.
After my first purchase, I realised that cables are one of the most important components in a hi-fi system. The setup can be minimalist or lavish, it can be made with just a set of speakers and a networked smart integrated amplifier. What is certain is that all loudspeakers must be connected to the amplifier, and consequently a good amplifier must be connected to a CD player or platter, by good quality cables, able to transfer not only the pure electrical signal and power.
What a good Hi-Fi cable actually does is carry the analogue music signal, made up of harmonics and timing, between the various components and then to the speakers. Choosing the right cables is absolutely fundamental, just as not having good cables leads to a waste of the rest of the investment already made. Let's avoid spending thousands of euros on sophisticated and beautiful equipment and then connecting them with a random or low quality cable.

Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe
Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The Dedalus Signal is a really nice cable without spending a lot of money. I switched to a Roksan K3 amplifier about ten months ago and I must say that the differences with this new cable can be heard from the first use, let's see what happens after the break-in period. The cable connects a Roksan K3 amp to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. With jazz music it gives admirable detail and the wide soundstage given by this amp and cable allows the instruments plenty of room to breathe with detail retrieval that is nothing short of excellent. Voices are also full of texture and life.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

At the moment I'm still in a state/period of "break-in" and, maybe it's due to the fact that I finally have a new cable, but, after several years, I've already noticed an excellent improvement in the sound range, especially in the treble. Voices are very well defined and instruments are precise both in detail and in the overall music.

What were your
listening impressions?

The cable connects a Roksan K3 amplifier to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. Ok, maybe we are not at a high level in terms of Hi-Fi components, but the added value of the cable can be heard. Especially with jazz music, voices and wind instruments are well defined. Rock music is well defined and in particular in some passages of Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin songs you can hear the artist's hands on the guitar strings or the voice is well defined.

Your conclusions.

Nothing to complain about the quality of the cables Ricable. Not to mention the shipping service which is always efficient and fast in delivery. I think I'm just at the beginning and as soon as possible I will also take the step of buying a Dedalus Power , like Netzkabel. To praise the attention to detail in the construction and the definition reached by this manufacturer that makes high quality cables.

What made you choose Ricable?

I first came across Ricable and their cables a little over a year ago; I was looking for a good coaxial cable for the digital output of my Marantz HD-DAC1 headphone amp/DAC. The cables I'd tried (the one that came with the Marantz and an AudioQuest given to me by a friend) didn't satisfy me at all, so I searched Amazon for a cheap coaxial cable that might convince me. By pure chance I saw a blue cable that struck me because of its Italian origin and its excellent aesthetics, it was the Ricable DU5 Ultimate Coaxial; I was immediately intrigued and after researching the various opinions, Hi-Fi sites and the official website Ricable I was convinced to buy it.
After an initial break-in, I fell in love with the performance of the cable and the open and clean sound that came out of my headphones. After months of use, I felt so good that I upgraded to the top of the range Invictus Coaxial, which after the usual break-in is already giving me enormous satisfaction.

Review Davide Dedalus XLR
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

As usual for the cables Ricable, the aesthetic impact was positive, the beauty of the finish and the quality of the materials are evident even for a neophyte and, in comparison, my Mogami 2534 XLR was already beaten. After the aesthetic side, what struck me was the weight: certainly the Dedalus weighed more than the Mogami, just as the cable cover gave a sensation of sturdiness and care more than the simple rubber that wraps the Mogami.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I have been listening almost exclusively to jazz from the Thirties to the early Seventies for ten years now (with exceptions like Brad Mehldau and Fred Hersch). This is a personal fixation of mine, but it has allowed me to develop a very precise idea of the sound I am looking for and of the characteristics of the musical reproduction that my system should give me. In this context, my listening ranges from the most classic piano trios (Bill Evans, Sonny Clark, Brad Mehldau and Fred Hersch) to quartets/quintets (Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, John Coltrane, Art Pepper) to the big bands of Basie and Ellington.
Another thing: I hate methodical rehearsals using certain CDs, nothing against those who do, but I prefer to listen to and evaluate a component based on the music I want to hear at that moment and in that context evaluate the performance of the component on the 'grill'.

Dedalus XLR
Review Davide Dedalus XLR
What were your
listening impressions?

At first I wasn't impressed at all! Changing the balanced cable that connects the amp to the source (which is fundamental in a "natively" balanced system like the Primare one) I expected a clear improvement, but nothing! On the contrary, it seemed to me that my system sounded better with the dear, old Mogami. The sound was flat and very cut upwards, not to mention the lack of that "nuanced" midrange that Primare and Vienna Acoustic used to give me.
Fortunately, being aware that every cable has to be broken in in the system where it is inserted, I let the cable "play" for quite a few hours without judging and simply listening to the music as it came out. After a couple of days, everything changed, above all the "flatness" that seemed to afflict the sound disappeared and thickness and depth appeared that I thought I had lost. But compared to the Mogami, everything had improved. But where the most evident difference emerged was in the sound: it became full-bodied and compact and with an "airiness" and a "cleanliness" in the space between the instruments hitherto unknown to my system.

Your conclusions.

Certainly the Dedalus XLR was helped in its performance by the Dedalus Speaker Elite that connects my speakers to the system, but there is no doubt that, compared to the initial phase, the Dedalus showed all its qualities as a high quality balanced cable. The difference, listening to the same CD after a couple of days (Michael Brecker, album of the same name), has been enlightening and revealing of how much margin the cable has to give in terms of sound, image and cleanliness. Definitely a purchase that I am largely satisfied with and that even now makes me perceive continuous small improvements in listening to the music I love!

Beautiful visual aesthetics ... they are beautiful cables to see, touch and feel, as they say the eye wants its part, for the true fans becomes a boast to show friends a nice cable in their system, attractive aesthetics, connectors very well made and with a secure grip. The cables are very big but don't frighten, they bend well and can be inserted without problems.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I listen to my system with the cable, and I hear the differences before and after, in my opinion there are no analysers, sophisticated instruments or anything else. Sure they help the system, but the only real instrument is your ear and when you enjoy listening to your system it is the best test.

Differences that can be clearly heard from the first listen. Larger soundstage, more detail, less listening fatigue. The most important point: the bass part, which remained present but with more modulation. I have performed tests with classical, jazz, blues, rock music and the listening is always pleasant, there is never any tiredness. The silence of the stand-by is no longer corrupted by the annoying buzzing that used to haunt me. All this gives me the impression of having turned up the volume slightly, but it is only a sensation, the greater effect is that you have a totally new system.

Your conclusions.

I would definitely recommend this brand for many reasons, but the first is the price. Quality cables at reasonable prices without selling out or selling your car to buy cables for your system. And not to mention that they are very Italian cables, which is another reason to buy them.

What made you choose Ricable?

I had the opportunity to appreciate the build and sound quality (albeit of the Primus series) on two different occasions. Already the entry level series returned an impressive result and a tangible difference with the previous wiring. Comparing it to the previous set-up, the result strongly encouraged me to try the Dedalus series.

Dedalus Ricable Review Francesco Saverio
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Just say: Made in Italy. Exceptional construction and packaging. Possibility of customisation at the highest levels. Aesthetically they are a real BOMB. In every detail you can appreciate the level of craftsmanship. From the materials to the serigraphy, up to the cable ties. Weight and sturdiness at the highest levels. Connectors comfortable to hold and masterful in tightening.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The audio test returned proverbial precision and an absolutely crystal-clear, three-dimensional sound image. The mid-high range is reproduced to the maximum of its possibilities. The bass is restrained, never redundant but at the same time musical. Sincere" voices, precise and well positioned on the musical stage. On the strings, the timbre recalls the construction material of the instruments' loudspeakers. High range present, crystalline and never (never!) tiring.

What were your
listening impressions?

My listening references are: Michel Godard with Monteverdi: A Trace of Grace; Dire Straits with Love over Gold; Patricia Barber with Companion; Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Nils Lofgren and so on. Right from the start, on the wind instruments I found more airiness and spatiality; correct timbre and impeccable positioning of the musical components; the voices crystalline and elegant, central and with an emulative sound image of the stage. Bass is present, strong and never fatiguing. Overall the soundstage is more precise and three-dimensional. The overall image stands as a new listening reference.

Your conclusions.

Anyone who does not believe that attention to wiring marks the difference between a 'before' and an 'after' should seriously rethink their views. This series, sister to the top of the range, fully expresses the potential of impressive construction and a focus on sound rather than mere current flow. In a nutshell, my already high-performing system revealed itself in all its potential!

What made you choose Ricable?

I've read a lot of reviews of Ricable products with owners praising their purchases. I decided to try the INTERCONNECT balanced cable from the Invictus series. The fact that it is an Italian product and the fact that I can return it within 60 days if I am not satisfied with the result were two important factors for me.

Invictus XLR Fulvio
XLR_Invictus
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

I noticed a lot of attention to detail, starting with the box: carefully made, with attractive colours and with a foam inside to protect the cables from possible shocks during transport. The cables themselves are also very attractive: large in section, but not too stiff and in a nice light blue colour. A particular praise to the connectors; you can immediately perceive the great level of finishing and precision in the realization that guarantee an excellent connection with the electronics.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I didn't use any particular method; I simply listened to the records/songs I know best in order to appreciate the differences between the two configurations: Invictus balanced versus the previous unbalanced cables of a well-known American manufacturer. The only trick I used was to let the system play with Invictus for about twenty hours before doing any "serious" listening.

Invictus XLR_View04_F
Invictus XLR Fulvio
What were your
listening impressions?

I was expecting some small improvements, due to the fact that the cables I had before were the models at the bottom of the manufacturer's range. After the break-in period (even if the fact of breaking in the electronics and, even more so, the cables, has always left me a bit perplexed about the real benefits) I was simply amazed. The differences were there, and very evident. With the Invictus the level of detail is impressive: the voices are limpid, crystalline to the point of making it seem that Agnes Obel is sitting in front of me singing. Another example is Bruce Springsteen in The Ghost of Tom Joad. With the previous cables, it sounded like Bruce was cutting out the last syllable of almost every word, but the Invictus 's managed to get all the information through, which made listening so much more enjoyable. There was another improvement in the lower frequencies: they were more impressive than before, but totally free of slabbiness. The sound reconstruction is also remarkable; you can fully perceive the position of instruments and voices, without any confusion.

Your conclusions.

In conclusion, I can say that the Invictus 's have really made a difference in my system, taking it to another level. They may not be for everyone, but they are definitely worth a try (if you don't like them, you can always return them). I also think that the price is not at all excessive, also considering the remarkable care in manufacturing and the use of precious materials. And then, dulcis in fundo, they are Italian!

What made you choose Ricable?

I chose these cables Speaker after reading the positive comments on various sites and forums. For a long time I have been using a normal copper cable with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² without any pretensions. Due to my limited free time I don't spend many hours listening to music, but in the previous period of closures due to the pandemic, having to spend a lot of time at home, I got back into the world of Hi-FI and hence the decision to buy the cables Speaker new.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The look of the cables, in my personal opinion, is definitely very nice, they don't go unnoticed... they are really well made! Although I haven't had any other cables in the past I can say, seeing other products on the internet, that these are very well made and very well cared for. If the eye is anything to go by, these cables really do deliver. The packaging that comes with the cables is also very well made.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I simply made several listening tests with tracks on CDs that I know very well and have always listened to. The same track repeated many times, first with one pair of speakers and then with the other... same repetitions with first my old cables and then the Ricable Primus. In all the listening sessions I tried to focus on the differences in the various passages and I must say that, even if I do not have a very trained ear..., I noticed several differences between the cables.

What were your
listening impressions?

I immediately noticed a noticeable change at the extremes of the bandwidth and then, concentrating well, also differences in the midrange. The bass was more controlled and deep, the highs less shrill and sibylline and the mids became more natural, especially the voices... The RCF Mytho 1 are small monitor speakers and they are not forgiving! Even if they are an old design, they didn't give any particular colouration to the music and so the details, for better or worse, are all there for you. The improvements made by the Primus were more noticeable with these speakers than with the others. Overall, there was an improvement across the spectrum.

Your conclusions.

I don't consider myself an expert in cables and my ear is within the norm, but I can honestly say that on my system these cables have brought improvements and you can hear them, in fact the listening fatigue has decreased considerably! These cables Speaker I believe they are suitable for all those who want to take their first steps in the world of high fidelity without spending a fortune. The Primus are the cheapest cables of Ricable so, most probably, the higher ones "sound" better... who knows, in the future maybe we can upgrade the whole chain...

What made you choose Ricable?

The need to try some good cables for my entry level system, to replace the stripped wire, led me to choose Ricable, an Italian company known on the net. The Primus series was my initial choice. Then, bringing the system to a higher quality level, I thought that the Magnus series would have been more appropriate. But thanks to the fantastic "Upgrade" initiative of Ricable, I was able to buy the even higher series, Dedalus, which cost me practically the same as Magnus, thanks to the fact that I was able to return my old Speaker Primus cables in exchange, valued at the same price paid at the time of purchase. I bought the INTERCONNECT cables using the same method, returning the old ones and getting a good discount. I had bought the jumpers some time before.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The construction and aesthetics of the product are impeccable. The very attractive packaging is very well presented and makes it clear what kind of product you are dealing with. A product of the highest level. And it's not only a matter of aesthetics, obviously, because when you pick up and touch the cables Dedalus you immediately have the impression of handling a solid and well-made product. Materials of the highest quality, great precision in the construction, in the assembly of connectors and sheaths. Everything is of the highest level. When inserting the banana plugs there is some resistance at first. No big deal, just proof of a stable and precise connection. I have read on the website the construction specifications and the technologies applied. I can only confirm what Ricable says, based on my very personal listening impressions.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I tested the cables Speaker and INTERCONNECT Dedalus by listening to songs that I know perfectly well. I listen mainly to rock, blues, but am open to other genres as well. I listened to Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits; several AC/DC albums; Toby Arrives by Koch Marshall Trio; several albums by ZZ Top, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Guns N' Roses, Gov't Mule, Blackberry Smoke. I felt the soundstage wider and clearer, indeed crystal clear. Rich in details and particulars that, in some cases, I had never perceived before. Vocals present and crystalline; guitars clear and well defined; bass fast and precise. The real surprise, for me, was listening to the cymbals of the drums that, with the old reference cables, seemed to be in the background. With the cables Dedalus, instead, also the percussion section has reached amazing levels.

What were your
listening impressions?

I am not an audiophile, but I think I have a clear idea of what I am looking for in quality listening. The difference between the Primus cables and Dedalus was immediately obvious. I didn't use any measuring device other than my ear. The sonic transparency and precise detail is what struck me most about these cables. The only "instrumental" test able to confirm what I think are the VU Meters of the Teac power amp that, with the old cables, tended to be asynchronous, that is one remained lower than the other. Maybe due to the fact that from the preamp I feed both the power amp and the active sub, through a splitter. This probably caused a loss of current. But with Dedalus, the VU meter issue was also solved and now they both run in sync. The bass output from the sub is also very clear and precise. I don't get that 'slightly muddy' feeling in the bass anymore.

Your conclusions.

In my mind, I am convinced that the type of cable has a huge influence on the final product of an acoustic signal, be it Hi-Fi or other (e.g. musical instrument/amplifier). Therefore, I say with certainty that without good conductors, such as Ricable Dedalus , even the best Hi-Fi components will never be able to express their full potential. I'm saying something obvious, but that's the way it is.

What made you choose Ricable?

I was told about them by an enthusiast friend of mine who had bought the Primus and said he had noticed the difference from the previous cables. I was intrigued and immediately explored the Ricable website and was pleasantly impressed. I read all the descriptions of the cables in question, in particular the components, the thickness of the various materials and I was pleasantly impressed by the quality of the material used to make the final contacts (the plugs) that go into the speakers and, at the end, considering my stereo system, I opted for the Magnus cable which I thought was the most suitable for my type of system.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

I was looking for very flexible and of course very good quality cables, as one of them had to go from one wall to the other since one of the speakers was far from the amp and had to fit flush along the wall separating it from the system in question; well, I have to say that despite the length and size of the cable (1.5 cm diameter) I was able to connect the cable with ease following the contours of the wall. What's more, it gives a feeling of sturdiness and solidity.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

To compare it with the previous cables I based my comparison on listening to both jazz, classical and pop/rock music (my favourite). I then tried to listen to these with the different listening filters in my CD player. I used both regular CDs and SACDs, both classical and rock.

What were your
listening impressions?

I started listening with a jazz classic that is very dear to me, Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. What can I say? Not that I couldn't hear it well before, but now I could almost be there. The sound was crisp and clear, even the sound of the brushes and the cymbals of the drums was crystal clear, not to mention the full-bodied but never intrusive or exuberant bass. I then moved on to Bach and the listening was smooth and crisp. Finally, I listened to Santana and Springsteen on SACD. I was delighted, I don't know what else to add.

Your conclusions.

The cable Magnus MKII has excellently satisfied all my most rosy expectations. It is really a revelation and then, if I have to say it all, I am very happy and proud to have in Italy an electronics factory at the same level of the foreigners and even better. I repeat: the performance is exceptional, but what won me over was the clarity of the sound that makes each instrument stand out from the other, managing even in the most "noisy" rock pieces TO DISTINGUISH CLEARLY.

What made you choose Ricable?

I already owned a cable INTERCONNECT Ricable Dedalus , of which I could appreciate the construction quality and the aesthetics, as well as the good performance. Since I had to replace the Speaker cables with two shorter ones (following the entry into my system of the two Klimo monophonic cables that replaced the stereo power amp) I opted again for Ricable, and the choice fell on the top of the range Invictus. But why Ricable? It has to be said that Ricable does an excellent job of marketing (having a well-curated website and very well-presented products) and of customer care, and I take this opportunity to thank Sergio Modenesi, always very kind on the phone to dispense advice. Finally ("last, but not least") the lifetime warranty and the possibility to return the products in case you are not fully satisfied.
For the record: Cable ordered / Assembled / Customised with orange mesh / Shipped / Arrived at home in just twenty-four hours. Great service, I'd say better than Amazon.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The cardboard packaging looks good. When you take the cable in your hand, the first things you inevitably appreciate are its weight and beauty. It feels a bit like holding a piece of a Pagani car (for those who know the philosophy). The cable is very well cared for in every detail, among which the beautiful braid in the colour I chose and the connectors (bananas) that widen when the carbon ring is tightened, guaranteeing a perfect seal on the speaker connectors. Once the cable was connected, I could easily manage the laying and its positioning between the power amps and the speakers, as it is characterised by an excellent flexibility.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Having taken five CDs that I know very well, I selected one track from each CD, as per the list below. I then listened to these five tracks repeatedly over several days, at different times of the day, using the Ricable cable that is the subject of this test. I then re-installed the previous cables (Klimo Aisis Improved) and listened to the same tracks over three days. It should be noted that the Klimo cables are made of copper and silver (3 mm² cross-section), as opposed to the Ricable cables which are made of MARC copper and have a 7.1 mm² cross-section.
Finally, at the end of the two sessions of three days each, I performed comparative tests on the same track a few minutes apart, replacing the cables Speaker , and listening to specific tracks:

  1. Gino D'Auri - Flamenco Passion & Soul (track 2)
  2. Norah Jones - Come Away with Me (track 1)
  3. Pat Metheny - A Map of the World (track 1)
  4. Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone (tracks 1, 17)
  5. Mike Valentine - Chasing the Dragon - Audiophile Recordings (track 8)

What were your
listening impressions?

Preamble: the topic of cables is one of the hottest and most controversial of the Hi-Fi panorama, which includes several "cavoscettici" and also some "ultras" who do not miss the opportunity to dispense colorful insults to those who decide to invest a few hundred (or thousand) euro in a cable... Speaker in this case. Although it is practically impossible for anyone to agree on this issue, I decided to share my listening impressions, following some experiments conducted on my system, as described above.
Before I start describing my listening impressions, I'll let you know which side of the fence I'm on: I believe that cables are not all the same; they can affect the final sound and, especially with Speaker cables, the differences can be significant. I also believe that if a cable sounds 'better' in a system, that depends largely on its synergy with other components. So, to summarise my position in the Hi-Fi cable debate, I would say that I am somewhere in the middle, keeping an open mind, adding a pinch of common sense, and taking pleasure in performing tests that may in some way enrich my experience.
But here's the thing: the Klimo Tine amps cause a very slight, constant hum that doesn't change with volume, and is audible when you put your ear close to the ribbon tweeter in my speakers. So far I haven't been able to reduce it (I've tried different cables INTERCONNECT) and I think it's due to the design of the power amps. First of all, and a pleasant surprise, I noticed a noticeable reduction in this hum, now audible only if the ear gets within 2 cm of the tweeter. I'll leave it up to you to decide if this is due to the noise reduction system and/or to the double shielding of the cable in question. For me, the fact that it is significantly reduced is enough.
After three days of listening I can say that the result of the Invictus is noteworthy: very detailed high range, airiness, controlled bass and, most importantly, extreme naturalness. While listening to the album Chasing the Dragon you can't help but close your eyes, and the soprano appears exactly three metres away, as if it were performing in front of you. Listening to Gino D'Auri's guitar, the emotions increase and the crackling of the fingers on the guitar strings becomes even more audible than I have perceived it so far. So some might think that the tests were done with 'easy' songs (voice and/or guitar). But when listening to Norah Jones - a splendid voice, but at times difficult to "manage" - the higher tones are well controlled and are always pleasant.

Your conclusions.

I am very satisfied with the sound performance on my system, where the cables Speaker have the arduous task of leaving unchanged - as much as possible - the sound and the colour at the source. For this and the other reasons listed above, the cables Speaker Ricable Invictus have now "by right" become an integral part of my system.
