I came to choose Ricable because in the past I had bought a pair of RCA Z1 Supreme and the HDMI cable for the television. I have ascertained the goodness of the products and, after careful analysis and surveying the market also on the internet, I have decided to continue buying Ricable. I would like to point out that in the past I have also had experiences with Van den Hul, Zavfino, Cardas and artisan cables. Now I have decided to definitively wire the components of the system that go to the headphone listening section that I use a lot.
and aesthetics of the product?
This was one of the things that made me opt for Ricable. The product arrives in a nice package with a velvet inside to protect the cable. The cable Invictus Coaxial has a solid construction, gives the impression of being really reliable and well made. Aesthetically it is very nice with the red and black coloured braiding. The connectors look good and give the feeling of precise and reliable tightening.
I inserted it between the digital output of my Primare Blu-ray player and the input of the McIntosh 500, which has the final task of bringing the signal to the preamp via the analogue output. With this "hybrid" (if I may say so) configuration I have had the best results for headphone listening. Everything is amplified by the Greek amplifier working in a triode configuration.
listening impressions?
Once theInvictus Coaxial was plugged in, immediately from the first DVD (Sade, Lovers Live) the first thing that struck me was the impression of more boost to the signal output. I had to revise a few parameters on the volume control (I write down a little technical note for each DVD/BD, e.g. volume, DTS or PCM, five channel, two channel, and so on, so that I can remember them for future listening because I have so many DVDs/BDs and each one has to be set for the best performance). But as I continued listening I was sure that I had improved other things... more bass... but not powerful, but soft, fleshy, in a word musical, really beautiful.
In short, this cable has undermined (and it was not an easy thing to do, others had not succeeded and even famous ones) my previous handmade digital cable with Cardas connectors that for the moment has passed to the loudspeakers. On the DVD Jackson Browne: Going Home (an old documentary with excerpts of a 1994 concert), at the track Lives in the Balance - with the presence of Crosby and Nash - I jumped... splendid the quality of the highs, the brush of the drums, the voices... not that they weren't there before, but now everything is like under a musical gilding, very musical. Finally, Blu-ray of an almost unknown but very good female group: Celtic Woman: Destiny. A splendid Celtic live all about traditional Irish music... in a modern version. Also here, I don't know if the cable Ricable has taken its toll, but still the pleasantness and the musicality of the whole take the upper hand...
Your conclusions.
What can I say in conclusion? In my opinion Invictus Coaxial is a great cable, I'm so convinced of it that I've upgraded from Ricable Dedalus (another excellent product) to Invictus Signal RCA and in the future at this point I'll have to buy at least another RCA and for sure it will beInvictus also because I'm curious to hear them in pair (for now it works with another foreign pair). Without leaving out at least a couple of power supplies that I have in future plans. Considering then that it is an Italian product, the lifetime warranty, the possibility to buy also the second-hand one, the upgrade formula and - last but not least - the excellent accessibility and visibility of the site, make it a product that I recommend dispassionately.
I read the review. I had the opportunity to try the
Digital Cable under review. I partially agree with what Stefano wrote. I am puzzled by the phrase: more bass. A good cable should give back the original signal without colouration or addition. Invictus does this very well but when tested with the
My Harmonix milions digital cable had to call the shots, but it didn't disfigure at all, also in terms of value for money. Obviously, every system responds differently, so the ideal cable almost never exists. There is the one that interfaces better with your system. However, whoever intends to buy it would make an excellent choice considering the musical quality of the same without expecting miracles. Recommended by Stefano and myself. Greetings to all audiophiles.
Good morning Antonio, we absolutely agree with you when you write that a good cable must give back a sound as neutral as possible, without ever colouring it. Probably that of the author of the review, Stefano, is a reference to the previous cable, comparative. In the sense that the previous cable, perhaps, was a bit of a bottleneck for the bass and Invictus Coaxial has instead managed to give back a sound with more bass, but without adding any artificially, simply giving back a sound a bit closer to the artist's original intentions. Best regards and thanks for your opinion.
Hello. Yes, I think it is the most correct solution. However, it's still a great cable in relation to quality and price. I have always maintained this. There are emblazoned cables on the market that are really rubbish. And yet, even if they cost thousands of euros, they are bought on the basis of reviews and not on the basis of their own listening in order to evaluate them well. Anyway, this is a very peculiar world where everybody is right but also where everybody is wrong. Anyway, keep up the good work. You are fantastic. Best regards.
