The following review of Primus Signal, Primus Speaker MKII, Primus Coaxial and Magnus Turntable cables is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to lead to continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. Last but not least, those who join the program receive a certificate at home, with the purpose of certifying how the customer has become to all intents and purposes part of the " Ricable" family.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned his impressions, in a completely free. We would like to thank Andrea for her time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I chose Ricable to upgrade my albeit modest system, trusting impressions on the net and then expanding the range (started with Coaxial and Signal) given the build quality and actual improvement. Secondly the fact that you are an Italian company and the fact that you are twenty kilometers from me. The boxes then are well designed and are of quality and then especially because of your lifetime warranty policy.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics
of the product?

As soon as the cables arrived home you start visually with a well made packaging that emphasizes with the Italian flag that it`s a homegrown product and then the cables are aesthetically beautiful that it`s a pity they are behind the system. Constructively perfect connectors, especially the banana plugs of the cables Speaker , have a contact surface without indecision and also the RCAs of the Turntables with the screw retainer on the connector.

How did you carry out the tests? What tracks did you use to test the cable?

As soon as I installed the cables instead of the box cables, I immediately heard a detail lost with the first cables. I tried listening to the tracks I know well and I must say that the system benefited but especially my listening. Especially the detail, the instruments present and the orchestras well placed in the soundstage.

What were your
listening impressions?

I tested with pieces I know well to hear the differences and with Wynton Marsalis with Skain's Domain the beginning of the piece with the drums, the depth of the toms and cymbals really seeming to be present in my studio to continue with the trumpet, perfect and ringing. Then I continued with the Overture 1812 Telarc edition and the spatiality and depth resurfaced. Then Ravel's Boléro Decca edition, a piece that regained vigor. Then vinyl of The Dave Brubeck Quartet with Time Out, an immortal piece that put quality into the drum cymbals. Then other pieces that I listen to very often. I also listen to the pieces with my Focal headphones with a balanced cable and I must say it is a very good listen.

Your conclusions.

The review asks me if I would recommend the cables Ricable? For me yes, I would recommend them without delay even though many people only look at the cost without looking at the benefits. I think I got the entry level cables because that way they are balanced with the system that is also entry level. I was skeptical that a cable could improve the listening quality, but I have come around.
