The following review of the Magnus Speaker MKII cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to lead to continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. Last but not least, those who join the program receive a certificate at home, with the purpose of certifying how the customer has become to all intents and purposes part of the " Ricable" family.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned his impressions, in a completely free. We thank Valter for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I was using, connected to my previous amplifier Audiolab 9000A, with much satisfaction a PS3 Primus Speaker, a cable from the entry level line Ricable, and I immediately appreciated its build quality, the attention to aesthetics-which is not always taken for granted when it comes to Hi-Fi, the softness of the cable, the stability of the connectors and the simplicity of using the banana terminals. Throwing in a higher level amplifier I decided on replacing the cables as well Speaker purchasing an MS3 Magnus Speaker MKII using the Ricable Upgrade formula, which basically trade-in your old cable for the same price you paid, a demonstration of how Ricable truly offers a lifetime guarantee to the value of its products.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The appearance of the cable leaves no doubt about its construction quality, the banana terminals immediately give the idea of robustness that you would expect from a high-end product, the cable is very soft, it goes smoothly with the path that connects the speakers to the amplifier without ever stiffening.
I also particularly appreciated the aesthetics of this product, an aspect often overlooked in the world of Hi-Fi; the placement of the cable in our home environment can be harmonious, although this aspect certainly does not change the sound qualities.
The packaging of the Magnus Speaker MKII is very pleasant to the touch, simple in unboxing, and compared to the previous Primus series purchase a few years earlier, the box is definitely smaller in size, no doubt a nice attention to the environmental impact generated by packaging.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

Comparison made between previous Primus speaker cable and current Magnus Speaker MKII between Accuphase E-280 amplifier and Monitor Audio Silver 300 6G, Dell thin client mini PC source using FLAC files from Daphile via Chord Qutest DAC; comparison also made with oxygen-free copper cable bought in skein and terminated with bananas.

What were your
listening impressions?

Connected the new Magnus Speaker MKII cable, I used the mini thin client PC with Daphile installed connected to the Chord DAC with Warm active filter, selected FLAC files that I use for my tests: Natural Thing - Innocence, Ghosts Again - Depeche Mode, Dirty Little Secret - Sarah McLachlan, Get Lucky - Daft Punk, Ocean Eyes - Billie Eilish, Smooth Operator - Sade, Born to Die - Lana Del Rey, Tookah - Emiliana Torrini, World Looking In - Morcheeba, to name a few.
Some of these tracks were also heard on vinyl media with a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo turntable with Ortofon 2M Blue stylus and Arcam pre-phono acrylic platter.
Impressions: the voice is soft and deep, completely in focus always, details reproduced with extreme precision, well-defined soundstage with instruments very well separated from each other - each instrument keeps its volume, no flattening, fast and precise bass and very controlled, absent of rumble and resonance, thanks also to the characteristics of the amplifier that manages to be extremely pleasant and musical without "coloring" the sound.
A truly excellent musical experience, balanced in its session and, while full of many details, absolutely pleasant and never tiring.

Your conclusions.

Cable of very high quality, you can feel the attention in the construction, solid and durable in every part, the softness allows its smooth passage, the banana terminations in particular I liked very much; the product is also remarkably well cared for in the aesthetic aspect, it is pleasant to insert in the home environment dispelling the false myth that to sound good Hi-Fi must be ugly. In my certainly revealing set-up, the "sound" took a great leap forward. The soundstage, the soundstage, the voices always in focus, the instruments in their place.
All this makes listening extremely musical and pleasant, absolutely never tiring. A product that I liked very much and that I recommend for value for money to all those who want a solid, high-performance amplifier-speaker connection.
I bought this product with the Ricable Upgrade formula, which allowed me to trade-in my previous purchase by deducting the price actually paid at the time; this formula is the most valid "lifetime guarantee" that you can get and which reveals the seriousness and professionalism of Ricable.
