The following review of the Primus Speaker MKII cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. After about 30 years since my last system, I decided to get a new one: Advance PlayStream A5, Indiana Line Tesi 561 and, as source, a Sony Xperia XZ1 with 256 GB micro SD to play music files in different formats (ALAC, M4A, MP3). All I had left of the old system was the speaker cable, Apature brand, so I bought banana plugs and used it as soon as the new components arrived. Then I talked to a colleague who extolled to me (and even let me hear on his system) the quality of Ricable products (cables series Dedalus). So I made up my mind and bought Primus Speaker MKII.
and aesthetics of the product?
From the moment I opened the box I realized the substantial difference with my old Apature cables and with any other cable I had ever seen and had in my hands in my life. The extreme care in construction and also the aesthetic beauty of the Primus Speaker MKII cable immediately jumped out at me, and I was thrilled.
As mentioned earlier, I initially used my old Apature cable from thirty years ago (still of adequate quality and cross-section) and was satisfied with the performance of my new system. As soon as the Ricable Primus Speaker MKII cables arrived, I immediately installed them and started listening to music to grasp the differences with the previous ones.
listening impressions?
What struck me most was the different quality of sound that came from my speakers after installing the new cables, much fuller and more defined sound. To better grasp the differences, I created a playlist with pieces by groups that are very familiar to me, Dire Straits, Talking Heads, The Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers, New Order and so on. The listening was always very pleasant and the details of the songs heard always seemed to be of a higher quality than with the previous cables. As a test I also took them apart and put the old Apature back on for the "litmus test," there was no story!!! I put the Primus Speaker MKIIs back on and, except for a system upgrade, I will never take them off again!
Your conclusions.
In conclusion of my review I can only say that I am very satisfied with my purchase that allows me to enjoy listening to my favorite music to the fullest. I highly recommend it to any Hi-Fi enthusiast who is willing to make an investment that will be able to go from one system to another over the years.
