The following review of the INTERCONNECT Dedalus Coaxial cable is the result of the "Try a Ricable" initiative, which was created, in collaboration with listening groups or Hi-Fi forums, to collect testimonials from from the real listening experience of users, in their own reference Hi-Fi system.

... when I work in the studio, I will have put about ten CDs "in play" in a year, and I have always used the NuPrime CDP-9 as a pre-amplified DAC and almost never as a CD transport. Here, in what I call my second system, from Ricable, I use their U40 cable which is part of the Speaker Custom series of cables and which I highly recommend trying if you have a minimum of manual dexterity to independently mount spades/bananas to their ends, they are best buys!
Circling back to the topic, as I said, since in the studio while I work it is more convenient for me to consume music via streaming, I decided to move this source to the main system and, wanting to use the digital output of this transport, I set out to find the right cable to connect it to the DAC via coaxial.
In the meantime, I became aware, through the Gazebo Audiophile forum, of the "Try a Ricable" initiative and , since I already knew the quality of their cables as I also own some of their cables INTERCONNECT, the RCA RH1 , I therefore immediately booked to receive a nice Dedalus Coaxial DC1.
It is a crucial cable in that it must deal with streams from digital sources and must work now more than ever at possibly higher sampling rates than in the past, without losing information and safe from interference that could result in annoying glitches and subsequent listening fatigue.
The guys at Ricable, after approving the request, very quickly delivered to me the Dedalus which I was able to use and try comfortably for a month, finally deciding whether to keep it 50% discounted or return it, I emphasize, for free. So I thank both of them in advance, the Gazebo and Ricable, who through this initiative made it easy for me to get what I was looking for.
Delivered home quickly, I did not expect it, I had to wait a few days before opening the package which I found, while very well made and at the same time protective, in my opinion slightly oversized for only one cable. Melius est abundare quam deficere, someone used to say!
Having unwrapped everything, sheltered the super package from felines and brats, after a few ritual photos for the review I immediately connected the cable to the system and as a first step simply verified that the incoming signal from the CDP would lock onto the DAC at the correct frequencies and up to the maximum resolution allowed by the latter, which is 192 kHz.
Although the CDP can work and scale up to 768 kHz, I had no way to exceed the maximum sampling allowed by the DAC, the excellent Nuprime 10H, but there is no need here to go further with the sampling as it is already far above the resolution of regular Redbook CDs.
What I can tell you is that with the Dedalus I have finally fully achieved the goal of listening to the CD collection on the main system consisting of a Nuprime/System Audio chain and totally wired Ricable.
Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl, through Alquin to 1 Giant Leap, until my wife came along with The Lilac Time's Cocteau Twins and Astronauts, the Dedalus Coaxial DC1 has always done its job very well; because of its qualities I will absolutely keep it hooked up to the system at this point, thanks in part to the generous benefits of the promotion Ricable.
