What made you choose Ricable?

I met Ricable by chance while searching for quality audio cables on the web. What I wanted was the best in terms of quality/price. I wanted to try the products Ricable intrigued by the presentation of the products on the Ricable website itself . I was surprised by the build and audio quality, proof that quality is made by passion, not price!

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Immediately from the packaging you can feel the quality of the product. Excellent build quality. Careful aesthetics. Nice to look at (Italian design is always recognizable!), you can tell the care with which these products were made, both to the touch and visually. The connectors are very nice, they fit very well. All this attention to detail catches the eye and lets you feel the passion of this company in making its products.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I tried these cables while listening to different CDs and LPs. I love different genres of music, among which I prefer rock, hard rock and especially metal in all its genres. CDs and LPs used for the test: Ben Harper, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, PFM, Pink Floyd, Megadeth, Faith No More, to name a few.
The Dedalus Speakers give the feeling of a warm, dynamic, detailed sound. High level cables for high level acoustic speakers!
The Primus Speakers (much more moderately priced) purchased for my next surround speakers give the same feeling, but obviously being a product intended for those taking their first steps into the real world of Hi-Fi, the dynamics and details are more restrained.
The Netzkabel Magnus offers a more stable and lively sound, compared to a traditional Netzkabel (no comparison!).
The Netzkabel Dedalus (considering the higher level of sources it is intended for) offers more naturalness, warmth. It goes up a level not only in price.

What were your
listening impressions?

I was struck by the precision, detail, dynamics, warmth, and fullness that these cables can express, all indistinctly. The tracks heard came through directly, with a wide soundstage. They give body to the protagonists of the soundstage. Well sounding.
In the past I have had the opportunity to listen to other higher cost cables, which is very easy in the world of Hi-Fi, but these cables I can say without any doubt that they sound not only as good, but better. Value for money, I believe, is paramount, and the Ricable products are proof of that. They enthuse from the first listen.

Your conclusions.

In the past I've listened to cables you'd have to sell yourself an organ to buy! Ricable is able to offer impact and quality at much lower prices, this makes these products and of course the company itself that made them great. I recommend listening to the cables Ricable! I also own QED and Van den Hul cables and am glad to have included in my system Ricable which I consider more than up to the mark in terms of detail and naturalness of sound considering the same price range.

What made you choose Ricable?

First I have to state that I'm not a technician, don't have very much knowledge how everything works, just a guy who writes a review based on his own seeing and hearing and experience for many years. I don't have any personal or financial involvement in Ricable at all. I'm writing this review out of my own free will and also because Ricable has asked me very nicely if I would like to write a review and to become a member.
Before I start my review that made me choose Ricable something to say to my personal opinion and experience in general.
Does a perfect sound system exist? What is a perfect sound system? How does it sound like? When are you satisfied what you want to achieve? Wouldn't that be all a matter of personal taste? And last but not least what do you want to spend on your hi-fi sound system?

Review Kees Invictus Dedalus HDMI

When you’re lucky and got tickets for a live concert you have a reference what music sounds like. Especially listening to classical music in a concert hall is a good experience how an orchestra sounds performing a symphony with all the finesses and timbre of the individual instruments and when the full orchestra is playing. All so balanced, refined, crisp and clear.
Then you start thinking would it be possible to achieve the same in my living room? Simple answer: No. Would it be possible to come some closer to the original sound: Yes.
It all starts with the source: The recording of music. When a recording is good the music sounds good on your loudspeakers whether the recording is put on a vinyl record, a CD or a (Blu-ray) DVD. When the recording is bad the output of your loudspeakers sounds also bad. I’m still wondering how it’s possible that there are highly respected record label firms who exist more than 70 years one makes excellent recordings from the beginning and the other one, even with the nowadays technical possibilities, is still able to make recordings which sound like the microphones were placed behind 2 layers of velvet curtains. Strange.
Then your hi-fi equipment e.g. amplifiers, loudspeakers, CD and Blu-ray players, DACs. There is so many to talk about and to choose. And yes one and the other could make a great difference, even more affordable equipment could still sound better than highly priced components. One aspect I didn’t mention yet, the acoustic in the room you are listening to your music and the placing of your loudspeakers could make a hell of a difference. Apart from some loudspeakers the majority of the loudspeakers require space at the rear for reflection. You create more depth. So don’t place your speakers directly to the wall. The distance between the placing of your loudspeakers as well as the angle may bring a lot of more balance to the sound. Also your furniture. curtains and a carpet on the floor or a wooden floor have influence on the acoustic. You need to try out and listen carefully what suits you best.
Now I come to my review on the Ricable cables. Although I’m absolutely satisfied and enjoy my hi-fi components very very much, I still miss the balance and the finesses of the real sometimes. It always looks like that the left channel is a bit louder than the right channel, not in balance. Honestly I was never interested in hi-fi cables because I had some bad experiences with quite expensive HDMI cables which were highly recommended by lots of enthusiastic music lovers. Well I bought 4 cables. First of all I couldn’t hear or see any difference compared to the cables of EUR 20,00, moreover all these 4 HDMI cables broke down completely between a period of 14 to 20 months. Useless and a waste of good money.
Surfing on the internet web my attention was caught by a man who spoke highly of Ricable HDMI cables which made a great difference to his hi-fi system. I’d never heard or read about this Italian firm. Being curious though I consulted the website of Ricable. I was interested immediately. What a great choice of cables, very well accomplished with information and for me important a lifetime warranty and very good buying conditions. However I was a bit shocked by the prices and scratched behind my ears, should I buy these cables? Quality may have its price. I had a nice chat with Dario and Sergio and got excellent advice.
Well the top best industrial and technical products are made in the northern part of Italy. Being a bit reluctant still I decided to buy the Supreme HDMI. After all, the Italian people have a great taste in designing, wining and dining and the proof of the pudding is in eating. I received the cable within the expected time frame of 2-3 days. It was very well packed. After unpacking I connected the HDMI cable directly to the Apple 4K TV and the Marantz SR5015 amplifier to start and experience with.
Within a second I was overwhelmed by the sound and video. Wow what an improvement this HDMI cable makes. This decided me to buy the top of the range and more expensive HDMI cable, the Visus HDMI.
After receiving, unpacking and connecting the Visus cables to my Panasonic Blu-ray player, the Reavon Blu-ray player as well as the LG television to the Marantz amplifier I was even more amazed. Is this really possible with hi-fi cables? Yes and even better in sound and video than the Supreme cable. Would there be more possible? After reading about speaker cables, reviews of other customers and chatting with Dario I decided to buy the Invictus Speaker Reference to connect my QUAD ESL63.2 QA electrostatics and the QUAD subwoofers as well as the Invictus Signal to connect the QUAD Artera stereo amplifiers to the Marantz pre-amplifier. Yes another improvement to the sound, which I’ll explain in chapter 3 and 4 of the questionnaire. Then I bought the Invictus Coaxial to connect the Denafrips Avatar CD player to the Marantz amplifier. Again a great improvement in sound. What could be possible more? The cable I hadn’t changed yet was the power cable and really these cables cost a fortune. Ricable also sells used and guaranteed cables. There was a Invictus Power VP35 available of half the price, just the one I wanted to buy. The results were amazing, which you can also read about in chapters 3 and 4.
Since my setup of the QUAD Artera Play+, the QUAD II Tube amplifiers and the QUAD ESL57 QA electrostatics is a stand alone I started with the Dedalus Signal to connect these amplifiers to the Artera Play+ pre-amplifier/CD player. I decided for the Dedalus instead of the Invictus because of the length of the cables I needed which were not available in the Invictus series*. I can only say: The results in sound improvement were also amazing, again, it sounds a bit dull, to be explained in chapter 3 and 4 of the questionnaire.

*Note: On special request and additional costs longer cables can be made.

What do you think about the constructionand the aesthetics of the product?

On the website of Ricable the photos of the cables look great, yet it is still a photo. In reality the aesthetics are beyond my expectations. I like the different kind of colors Ricable is using for the different quality ranges of the cables in the series of products. When you're not so fond of different colors Ricable also offers to provide all your cables in the same color.
The cables are so well constructed, I've never seen this up till now. The pure golden connections are so well built, solid and very nicely put into the outer layer of the cable. The materials are great.

The cables weigh quite something and are stiff, however have some flexibility at the same time, very solid. Special attention I give to the Invictus power cable. This cable weighs a ton and is so thick you can moor an oil tanker at the quay.
Due to the power cable I needed to re-arrange some of my hi-fi components in the in and outside of the hi-fi furniture. Keep that in mind before buying. The cables are very nicely packed in a box, especially the speaker and power cable boxes which look like a jewelry box. Don't throw the boxes away. It would be a waste and a pity. You might be needing the box whenever you decide or need to return the cable to Ricable in Italy. When not needed you can always keep your jewelry in it.

How did you do the tests? What tracks did you use to test the cable?

As I wrote in chapter 1 my first amazing impression in sound and video improvement was the Supreme HDMI cable which I connected to the Apple TV and Marantz amplifier. Then I tested this cable on the 2 Blu-ray/CD players. Same results in quality improvement of sound and video. For testing I always use the same Blu-ray DVD's, a DVD and CD's. These are respectively:

  • Johann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 1-6 performed by the Orchestra Mozart and conducted by Claudio Abbado
    • testing: concerto no. 1, 4 and 6
Review Kees Invictus Dedalus HDMI
  • Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 2 by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Daniele Gatti
    • testing: part I > Allegro maestoso and part IV and V > Urlicht. Sehr feierlich. Aber schlicht / "Auferstehn"
  • Hector Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Daniele Gatti
  • Claude Debussy: Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune and La Mer
  • Igor Stravinsky: Le Sacre du printemps; both by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Daniele Gatti
    • testing: parts of the Préludes of Debussy and parts of Le Sacre of Stravinsky
  • Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphonies 1-9 by the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, conductor Mariss Jansons
    • testing: Symphony no. 7 and 9
  • Fryderyk Chopin: The Piano Concertos, performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, soloists: Nikolai Demidenko (No. 1)
  • Evgeny Kissin: Piano Concerto No. 2, conductor Antoni Wit
    • testing: Concerto no. 2
  • Johann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 1-6 performed by the Freiburger Barockorchester
    • testing: concerto no. 1, 4 and 6
  • Georg Friedrich Händel: Concerti Grossi, Op. 3 performed by the Händel & Haydn Society, conducted by Christopher Hogwood
    • testing: concerto no. 1 and 6
  • Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 2 performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Georg Solti
    • testing: part I, IV and V
  • Jean Sibelius: 7 Symphonies by the Oslo Philharmonic, conducted by Klaus Mäkelä (a very recent recording)
    • testing: Symphony no. 1

Compared to my old HDMI cables the quality improvement of the Supreme HDMI cable in sound is the balance, and the music is more crisp, clear and detailed; the improvement of quality in video is the brightness, sharpness and colors.
The Visus HDMI cables go beyond this all. Better in all the aspects I mentioned. The Invictus Reference loudspeaker cable, the Invictus Signal RCA cable and the Invictus power cable give the extra boost to the closest approach to the natural sound.
The Invictus coaxial cable and the Dedalus Signal RCA cables also give you the balance and transparency of the music. Such a great improvement. So nice to listen to.

What were yours listening impressions?

Some parts I already explained in general in chapter 3. Now the details of the improvement of quality in sound and video.
For testing I always start with the Blu-ray of the Brandenburg Concertos of J.S. Bach. The video part is literally quite dark you can hardly see how the concert hall and audience look like. The authentic horns could sound too sharp sometimes, likewise the piccolo and recorder.
The 2nd test is the Blu-ray of Mahler's Symphony No. 2 for the huge dynamic in this music and the beginning of the first part when all the double basses start to play. Then followed by the other parts of this symphony with the choirs and percussion.
The 3rd test is part IV and V of the Symphonie Fantastique of Berlioz also for its dynamic and the majestical music as a whole.

I test the latter ones especially, because I was in the audience during these live recordings in the Amsterdam concert hall. This concert hall is famous for its very special acoustic. That is a real good reference how classical music sounds. To get this in your living room, well.............?
These 3 tests are followed by the other music mentioned in chapter 3, old and recent recordings to compare using the Ricable cables.
The video part.
In one word: WOW! So much brightness and clarity, it looks like a whole bunch of spotlights were put on stage and in the concert hall. Now the concert hall and audience are visible during the performance of the Brandenburg concertos, amazing how the hall is decorated with golden colors. This brightness and clarity apply for all the recordings. During close ups of the musicians e.g. you can see the difference of the fabrics of the clothing. Most of the time they wear black. And one black of a dress or a tailcoat is not the same as the other black, more like 50 shades of black.
It's all so bright and refined, it almost looks like 3D, yet in a real complete natural way. Regular TV broadcastings, movies, nature films, whatever you mention it doesn't matter. People can step out from the screen directly into your living room, so clear, refined and natural.
The sound part.
In one word again: WOW! The balance is so good, the deepness, the acoustic of the concert hall, the finesses and timbre of the instruments are amazing, whether it's a solo instrument or an orchestra.
Now the horns, piccolo and recorder of the authentic instruments on the Brandenburg Concertos sound absolutely wonderful. So great to listen to the 2 horns and clarinet together in the 1st concerto.
Listening to the Mahler symphony, I was flabbergasted how these doubles basses sound, the alto and soprano, the choirs so clear that you can hear what they are singing. The huge dynamic to the music is thrilling and breathtaking. Wow.
Then part IV and V of the Symphonie Fantastique of Berlioz. Listen to all the pizzicatos of the violins, all the other strings, the full set of all wind instruments in combination with the bombastic percussion, the bells and than the little piccolo that rises above it all. The music itself might be a little bit bold and grotesque to someone perhaps, however marvelous when you hear it all together and hear every detail. Goosebumps.
At the other tests of the cables the same results. Transparency, depth, acoustic, balance, finesses and timbre, all is there even on the old recordings of the selected CD's.
But not just the selection above. The CD's of Ella Fitzgerald's Song Books and The Reprise Years of Frank Sinatra e.g., incredible how these sound. The timbre of the voices so wonderful and warm. Love it.

Your conclusions.

I'll try to keep it short this time. All depends how you would like to listen to your favorite music or want to view your favorite movie. It is a combination of personal taste, acoustic in your living room, the money you want to spend, the goal you want to achieve and all the hi-fi equipment together. An absolutely perfect sound system doesn't exist whatever amount of money you're putting into it.
Whenever you doubt about your equipment consider to buy the Ricable cables. It might save you for spending a lot of money. You'll be astonished what these cables are capable of. This specialized company offers a great variety of cables all in a different price range. Consult the webpages of Ricable and ask for information. Chats are answered by instant, they give great advice and it's a joy chatting with these people.
The conditions are wonderful, the state of deliveries are to be followed by the weblink of the courier you're provided, their kind of service is a reference.
My final conclusion.
To keep it to the dining, the HDMI cables, the Coaxial and the Signal RCA cables are the whole cake and the Loudspeaker cables and Power cables are the icing of the cake.
I can only say from the bottom of my heart: Thank you, thank you, thank you, you great people of Ricable for bringing so much joy into the (hi-fi) world.

* Note: Longer cables can be made upon special request and additional cost.

For rehearsals I always start with the Blu-ray of J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. The video part is literally quite dark, you can hardly see what the concert hall and the audience look like. The horns may sound too high-pitched at times, as do the piccolo and recorder.
The second test is the Blu-ray of Mahler's Symphony No. 2 for the enormous dynamics of this music and the beginning of the first part when all the double basses start playing. This is followed by the other parts of this symphony with the choruses and percussion.
The third test is parts IV and V of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique also for its dynamics and majestic music as a whole.

I especially try the latter, because I was in the audience during these live recordings in the Amsterdam concert hall. This concert hall is famous for its very special acoustics. This is really a good reference on how classical music sounds. To have it in your living room, well.............?
These three rehearsals are followed by the other music mentioned in Chapter 3, old and recent recordings to be compared using the cables Ricable.
The video part.
In a word: WOW! So much brightness and clarity, it looks like a lot of spotlights were put on the stage and in the concert hall. Now the concert hall and the audience are visible during the performance of the Brandenburg concerts, amazing how the hall is decorated with golden colors. This brightness and clarity apply to all recordings. During close-ups of the musicians, for example you can see the difference in clothing fabrics. Most of the time they wear black. And one black of a suit or tailcoat is not the same as the other black, more like 50 shades of black.
Everything is so bright and refined, it almost looks like 3D, but in a really complete and natural way. Regular TV broadcasts, movies, documentaries, whatever you say doesn't matter. People can come out of the screen right into your living room, so clear, refined and natural.
The sound part.
In one more word: WOW! The balance is so good, the depth, the acoustics of the concert hall, the finesse and timbre of the instruments are amazing, whether it's a solo instrument or an orchestra.
Now the horns, piccolo and recorder of the authentic instruments of the Brandenburg concerts sound absolutely wonderful. So nice to hear the 2 horns and clarinet together in the first concerto.
Listening to Mahler's symphony, I was amazed at the sound of these double basses, the choruses so clear that you can hear what is being sung. The huge dynamic of the music is electrifying and breathtaking. Oh.
Then part IV and V of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. Listen to all the pizzicati of the violins, all the other strings, the full set of all the wind instruments in combination with the bombastic percussion, the bells, and then the tiny one that rises above it all. The music itself might be a little bold and grotesque to some perhaps, however wonderful when you hear it all together and listen to every detail. Goosebumps.
At the other cable tests the same results. Transparency, depth, acoustics, balance, finesse and timbre, everything is there even in the old recordings of the selected CDs.
But not only the selection above. The Ella Fitzgerald Song Books CDs and Frank Sinatra's The Reprise Years for example, amazing how they sound. The timbre of the voices so wonderful and warm. I love it.

Your conclusions.

I will try to be brief this time. It all depends on how you would like to listen to your favorite music or want to watch your favorite movie. It is a combination of personal taste, acoustics in your living room, the money you want to spend, the goal you want to achieve, and all the hi-fi equipment together. There is no such thing as an absolutely perfect sound system, no matter how much money you are investing in it.
Whenever you have doubts about your equipment consider buying cables Ricable. It may save you money instead of spending a lot of money. You will be amazed at what these cables are capable of. This specialized company offers a wide variety of cables all in a different price range. Check out the web pages of Ricable and ask for information. The chats get instant responses, they give great advice and it is a joy to chat with these people.
Condition is great, delivery status is followed by the courier web link you are given, their type of service is a reference.
My final conclusion.
The HDMI cables, coaxial cables and INTERCONNECT RCA cables are the whole cake and the speaker cables and power cables are the icing on the cake.
I can only say from the bottom of my heart: thank you, thank you, thank you, people at Ricable for bringing so much joy to the (hi-fi) world.

The following review of the Dedalus XLR cable is the result of an initiative with the collaboration of the French Facebook group 'Audiophile francophone et haute-fidélité'. The initiative was created to collect feedback from audiophilesin order to bring about a continuous improvement of the products in the catalogue. Audiophiles received their chosen cable at home and had thirty days to perform as many tests as they deemed appropriate. At the end of this period, audiophiles could decide whether to keep the cable or return it at no cost.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which users returned their impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Olivier for his time.

  • Trois Dedalus XLR + Dedalus Speaker

  • Pink Floyd: Animals et Wish You Were Here
  • Miles Davis: Kind of Blue
  • Youn Sun Nah: Immersion
  • Norah Jones: Come Away with Me
  • Amy Winehouse: Back to Black
  • Melody Gardot: Worrisome Heart
  • John Coltrane: Giant Steps
  • Oscar Peterson: Exclusively for My Friends: Lost Tapes et We Get Requests

The construction and aesthetics of the cable. Was it solid and beautiful to look at?

Cable with an excellent presentation, perfect aesthetics, it is a very luxurious cable. The packaging is solid, the overall presentation reflects the quality, the cable is soft, flexible and very easy to install. The connections are solid and of good quality. It is a cable that lives up to its ambitions in presentation.

Dedalus XLR Olivier
How did you test the differences. Do youconnect and disconnect different cables, for example, or another method?

I paired these cables with Dedalus Speaker, compared to low-end XLR cables, basically, the coupling with the speaker Dedalus is perfect. In fact, I made subsequent tests with the Dedalus Speaker, namely:

  • Dedalus XLR + basic speaker cable
  • Two basic XLR + Dedalus Speaker
  • Three Dedalus XLR + Dedalus Speaker
  • Four XLR + speaker base cables

I did several listens with different styles.

Listening impressions. How did you perform the tests? Which tracks did you use to test the cable Ricable?

The combination with the Dedalus Speaker is fabulous, the timbres are clear and natural, the sound image gains in spatialisation, it feels like being at a live concert. Instruments are ideally positioned. From the extreme corners to the deep bass, everything is represented, nothing is missing. A very nice combination, I think I will continue to explore the Dedalus series.

  • Pink Floyd: Animals and Wish You Were Here
  • Miles Davis: Kind of Blue
  • Youn Sun Nah: Immersion
  • Norah Jones: Come Away with Me
  • Amy Winehouse: Back to Black

Any differences from reference cables. Did you find any?

It's hard to compare it with another high-end XLR, I had first-class XLRs as a base, so the difference is noticeable. Everything is there, already the Dedalus Speaker had clearly improved listening in all areasbut with the Dedalus XLR the speakers develop their subtleties and precision. This combination is almost indispensable.

The following review of the cable Dedalus Power is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Last but not least, those who take part in the programme receive a certificate at home, with the aim of certifying that the customer has become a full member of the ' Ricablefamily'.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned his or her impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Raffaele for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I've known you for a long time now, I have the whole system wired with your cables both INTERCONNECT and power cables but with the latest test I've done you never cease to amaze me, honestly sometimes I struggle to understand where the witchcraft is that allows the quality of your cables to be so evident. Anyway I got to know you through the internet. I would like to use your cables to connect power amps to speakers, but being very long and passing inside a bookcase would be very difficult and I imagine expensive to do.

Review Raphael Dedalus Power
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The cable is massive, the quality is immediately apparent at the touch, despite everything it is very flexible and the construction is well cared for at all levels. The quality of the packaging is remarkable in both robustness and aesthetics, nothing to say. Perhaps the only small flaw is the lack of phase indication on the power plug.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I had the system connected to the mains with a common power strip where all your cables connected. Then I bought a cheap, 150 euro, eight-output Schuko filtered power strip on the Internet and connected it to the mains via your Netzkabel Dedalus replacing the common power strip that everyone uses at home.

Review Raphael Dedalus Power
Review Raphael Dedalus Power
What were your
listening impressions?

After having connected everything, switched on and warmed up the system as usual, I start listening and immediately I notice a cleanliness in the voice and in the details, the sound scene was much more detailed and high, the spatiality increased, the bass range powerful and clear as never before. Obviously I have tried with various CD records, vinyl and DAT cassettes but the result was the same, I was a bit incredulous having the whole system already wired Ricable, but surely the power strip with normal cable was a bottleneck and did not allow the system to express itself at its best. Now everything is cleaner, every frequency has benefited and it is like listening to a different system... magic? I don't know, but the differences are evident I think even to a neophyte.

Your conclusions.

What can I say, once again you have amazed me with your products which, as I have already written to you, are not very cheap but once you have listened to them and tried them, they immediately make you forget the money you have spent and the fights with your wife for buying them. Absolutely to recommend to anyone and I congratulate you again on your work.

The current cable in place...

The current cable in place than I'm looking to upgrade is an Auralic USB cable sold with my old Auralic Vega today replaced by a Denafrips Iris + Pontus combo. This cable seem basic with a shield and ferrites on both sides. Arrive the Ricable Dedalus USB cable. The build quality and packaging is High-End, one of the best I have seen on the market and the best in this price range.
In the following I give my feedback of the Ricable Dedalus USB cable with some listening sessions. All results are not especially due to the cable because the synergy of the system and some compensation are complex. My comments has to be very relativized to my audio context and also to my own tastes which can differ from another person.

Review Nicolas Dedalus USB
Review Nicolas Dedalus USB

Track 1 - Requiem: first impression is a more physical palpability and stability of sources in soundstage. A kind of calmness gives the feeling the music flows slowly, it is a more romantic sound but also I have the feeling it misses me some life.

Track 7 - Non believer: again I can ear this romantic feeling, a little opacity perhaps due to a mid bass little emphasised? Comparing my Auralic USB cable, it misses some slam in the very low bass and also some dynamism. The voice of the singer lacks for me some transparency, she seems a little blurred. But in all cases the sound is very pleasant, very musical but perhaps not on the "master sound" philosophy.

Track 5 - Tourdion: I ear a better depth of soundstage but always this kind of softness which gives a globalised presentation of music when I prefer a more separated sound. But the sound is more musical, I listen to the whole track and some others because I take a lot of pleasure.

Track 1 - Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 1: a very pint point soundstage image with a better feeling of depth, I really like this but always this kind of softness, very pleasant, which give the desire for a long listen session. But it lacks for me a kind of directness, I would like the same musicality but with a more direct sound, to be more inside in the mastering studio.

Track 1 - Chord Left: I can follow each touch of piano more accurately and I ear a more things never eared before in the highs. A very good listening session, the Ricable is a good match with this kind of recording, I really like what I ear.

Track 1 - Hommage à Moondog: the music play very slow, it misses some involvement, the track is boring I think due to less dynamic.

  • Dire Straits: Love over Gold and Brothers in Arms

  • Miles Davis: Kind of Blue

The construction and aesthetics of the cable. Was it solid and beautiful to look at?

The construction of this cable is as it appears. A very well presented cable, a high-end finish, the bananas are very well finished and seem solid. The cable is flexible, silky and very pleasant to the touch. A cable that oozes luxury. The presentation in the box is 'very Italian', which is no problem for taste. In the packaging you can see that it is an 'Italian' cable, perhaps a bit too much...

How did you test the differences. Do youconnect and disconnect different cables, for example, or another method?

I tested the cable by disconnecting the reference cable which is an Ecosse CS 2.3, tried the two replaced cables and then only one. Several tests were carried out, in different sessions. The first impression was a bit negative, I felt a cold and dry cable, but after a few hours this cable developed its potential. A break-in was necessary before appreciating the high qualities of this cable.

Listening impressions. How did you perform the tests? Which tracks did you use to test the cable Ricable?

I have performed tests on different types of tracks. I use an Audio-GD DAC with Bluesound streamer and Qobuz. In digital listening I listen more to jazz, rock, French variety, 80s ... I also use vinyl with a selection:

Any differences from reference cables. Did you find any?

Compared to the Ecosse we have a cable that develops more bass, especially on the vinyl side, but also more detailed and precise treble. Sometimes the bass is a bit too far back (not on the same plane) especially in digital listening. It is more on the vinyl side that makes the difference with more specialisation. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to much, but listening to the Ricable Dedalus Speaker, after hours of break-in, I found it airy, detailed, with warm mids accompanied by tight bass. The price is justified in this cable category. It is a cable to listen to, to appreciate and definitely to keep. It would be good to accompany it with others from the same series and be able to judge the associations.

The following review of the Dedalus Signal cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program created by Ricable, born to collect feedback from audiophilesin order to bring about continuous improvement of the products in the catalogue. Last but not least, those who participate in the programme receive a certificate at home, with the aim of proving that the customer has become part of the " Ricablefamily".
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a way that was not possible without the help of a surveyor. completely free. We would like to thank Giuseppe for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I've been using mid-level cables for years, thinking that they were not "indispensable/important" in the search for a good listening sound. I read a lot of reviews and after a couple of them on the products Ricable I was convinced to take the step for some "important" purchases.
After my first purchase, I realised that cables are one of the most important components in a hi-fi system. The setup can be minimalist or lavish, it can be made with just a set of speakers and a networked smart integrated amplifier. What is certain is that all loudspeakers must be connected to the amplifier, and consequently a good amplifier must be connected to a CD player or platter, by good quality cables, able to transfer not only the pure electrical signal and power.
What a good Hi-Fi cable actually does is carry the analogue music signal, made up of harmonics and timing, between the various components and then to the speakers. Choosing the right cables is absolutely fundamental, just as not having good cables leads to a waste of the rest of the investment already made. Let's avoid spending thousands of euros on sophisticated and beautiful equipment and then connecting them with a random or low quality cable.

Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe
Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The Dedalus Signal is a really nice cable without spending a lot of money. I switched to a Roksan K3 amplifier about ten months ago and I must say that the differences with this new cable can be heard from the first use, let's see what happens after the break-in period. The cable connects a Roksan K3 amp to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. With jazz music it gives admirable detail and the wide soundstage given by this amp and cable allows the instruments plenty of room to breathe with detail retrieval that is nothing short of excellent. Voices are also full of texture and life.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

At the moment I'm still in a state/period of "break-in" and, maybe it's due to the fact that I finally have a new cable, but, after several years, I've already noticed an excellent improvement in the sound range, especially in the treble. Voices are very well defined and instruments are precise both in detail and in the overall music.

Review Dedalus Signal Giuseppe

What were your
listening impressions?

The cable connects a Roksan K3 amplifier to a Marantz CD6007 CD player. Ok, maybe we are not at a high level in terms of Hi-Fi components, but the added value of the cable can be heard. Especially with jazz music, voices and wind instruments are well defined. Rock music is well defined and in particular in some passages of Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin songs you can hear the artist's hands on the guitar strings or the voice is well defined.

Your conclusions.

Nothing to complain about the quality of the cables Ricable. Not to mention the shipping service which is always efficient and fast in delivery. I think I'm just at the beginning and as soon as possible I will also take the step of buying a Dedalus Power , like Netzkabel. To praise the attention to detail in the construction and the definition reached by this manufacturer that makes high quality cables.

What made you choose Ricable?

I first came across Ricable and their cables a little over a year ago; I was looking for a good coaxial cable for the digital output of my Marantz HD-DAC1 headphone amp/DAC. The cables I'd tried (the one that came with the Marantz and an AudioQuest given to me by a friend) didn't satisfy me at all, so I searched Amazon for a cheap coaxial cable that might convince me. By pure chance I saw a blue cable that struck me because of its Italian origin and its excellent aesthetics, it was the Ricable DU5 Ultimate Coaxial; I was immediately intrigued and after researching the various opinions, Hi-Fi sites and the official website Ricable I was convinced to buy it.
After an initial break-in, I fell in love with the performance of the cable and the open and clean sound that came out of my headphones. After months of use, I felt so good that I upgraded to the top of the range Invictus Coaxial, which after the usual break-in is already giving me enormous satisfaction.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

As usual for the cables Ricable, the aesthetic impact was positive, the beauty of the finish and the quality of the materials are evident even for a neophyte and, in comparison, my Mogami 2534 XLR was already beaten. After the aesthetic side, what struck me was the weight: certainly the Dedalus weighed more than the Mogami, just as the cable cover gave a sensation of sturdiness and care more than the simple rubber that wraps the Mogami.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I have been listening almost exclusively to jazz from the Thirties to the early Seventies for ten years now (with exceptions like Brad Mehldau and Fred Hersch). This is a personal fixation of mine, but it has allowed me to develop a very precise idea of the sound I am looking for and of the characteristics of the musical reproduction that my system should give me. In this context, my listening ranges from the most classic piano trios (Bill Evans, Sonny Clark, Brad Mehldau and Fred Hersch) to quartets/quintets (Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, John Coltrane, Art Pepper) to the big bands of Basie and Ellington.
Another thing: I hate methodical rehearsals using certain CDs, nothing against those who do, but I prefer to listen to and evaluate a component based on the music I want to hear at that moment and in that context evaluate the performance of the component on the 'grill'.

Review Davide Dedalus XLR
What were your
listening impressions?

At first I wasn't impressed at all! Changing the balanced cable that connects the amp to the source (which is fundamental in a "natively" balanced system like the Primare one) I expected a clear improvement, but nothing! On the contrary, it seemed to me that my system sounded better with the dear, old Mogami. The sound was flat and very cut upwards, not to mention the lack of that "nuanced" midrange that Primare and Vienna Acoustic used to give me.
Fortunately, being aware that every cable has to be broken in in the system where it is inserted, I let the cable "play" for quite a few hours without judging and simply listening to the music as it came out. After a couple of days, everything changed, above all the "flatness" that seemed to afflict the sound disappeared and thickness and depth appeared that I thought I had lost. But compared to the Mogami, everything had improved. But where the most evident difference emerged was in the sound: it became full-bodied and compact and with an "airiness" and a "cleanliness" in the space between the instruments hitherto unknown to my system.

Your conclusions.

Certainly the Dedalus XLR was helped in its performance by the Dedalus Speaker Elite that connects my speakers to the system, but there is no doubt that, compared to the initial phase, the Dedalus showed all its qualities as a high quality balanced cable. The difference, listening to the same CD after a couple of days (Michael Brecker, album of the same name), has been enlightening and revealing of how much margin the cable has to give in terms of sound, image and cleanliness. Definitely a purchase that I am largely satisfied with and that even now makes me perceive continuous small improvements in listening to the music I love!

What made you choose Ricable?

I had the opportunity to appreciate the build and sound quality (albeit of the Primus series) on two different occasions. Already the entry level series returned an impressive result and a tangible difference with the previous wiring. Comparing it to the previous set-up, the result strongly encouraged me to try the Dedalus series.

Dedalus Ricable Review Francesco Saverio
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Just say: Made in Italy. Exceptional construction and packaging. Possibility of customisation at the highest levels. Aesthetically they are a real BOMB. In every detail you can appreciate the level of craftsmanship. From the materials to the serigraphy, up to the cable ties. Weight and sturdiness at the highest levels. Connectors comfortable to hold and masterful in tightening.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The audio test returned proverbial precision and an absolutely crystal-clear, three-dimensional sound image. The mid-high range is reproduced to the maximum of its possibilities. The bass is restrained, never redundant but at the same time musical. Sincere" voices, precise and well positioned on the musical stage. On the strings, the timbre recalls the construction material of the instruments' loudspeakers. High range present, crystalline and never (never!) tiring.

Mark Knopfler Dire Straits
What were your
listening impressions?

My listening references are: Michel Godard with Monteverdi: A Trace of Grace; Dire Straits with Love over Gold; Patricia Barber with Companion; Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Nils Lofgren and so on. Right from the start, on the wind instruments I found more airiness and spatiality; correct timbre and impeccable positioning of the musical components; the voices crystalline and elegant, central and with an emulative sound image of the stage. Bass is present, strong and never fatiguing. Overall the soundstage is more precise and three-dimensional. The overall image stands as a new listening reference.

Your conclusions.

Anyone who does not believe that attention to wiring marks the difference between a 'before' and an 'after' should seriously rethink their views. This series, sister to the top of the range, fully expresses the potential of impressive construction and a focus on sound rather than mere current flow. In a nutshell, my already high-performing system revealed itself in all its potential!

What made you choose Ricable?

The need to try some good cables for my entry level system, to replace the stripped wire, led me to choose Ricable, an Italian company known on the net. The Primus series was my initial choice. Then, bringing the system to a higher quality level, I thought that the Magnus series would have been more appropriate. But thanks to the fantastic "Upgrade" initiative of Ricable, I was able to buy the even higher series, Dedalus, which cost me practically the same as Magnus, thanks to the fact that I was able to return my old Speaker Primus cables in exchange, valued at the same price paid at the time of purchase. I bought the INTERCONNECT cables using the same method, returning the old ones and getting a good discount. I had bought the jumpers some time before.

Andrea Review Dedalus
Andrea Review Dedalus
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The construction and aesthetics of the product are impeccable. The very attractive packaging is very well presented and makes it clear what kind of product you are dealing with. A product of the highest level. And it's not only a matter of aesthetics, obviously, because when you pick up and touch the cables Dedalus you immediately have the impression of handling a solid and well-made product. Materials of the highest quality, great precision in the construction, in the assembly of connectors and sheaths. Everything is of the highest level. When inserting the banana plugs there is some resistance at first. No big deal, just proof of a stable and precise connection. I have read on the website the construction specifications and the technologies applied. I can only confirm what Ricable says, based on my very personal listening impressions.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I tested the cables Speaker and INTERCONNECT Dedalus by listening to songs that I know perfectly well. I listen mainly to rock, blues, but am open to other genres as well. I listened to Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits; several AC/DC albums; Toby Arrives by Koch Marshall Trio; several albums by ZZ Top, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Guns N' Roses, Gov't Mule, Blackberry Smoke. I felt the soundstage wider and clearer, indeed crystal clear. Rich in details and particulars that, in some cases, I had never perceived before. Vocals present and crystalline; guitars clear and well defined; bass fast and precise. The real surprise, for me, was listening to the cymbals of the drums that, with the old reference cables, seemed to be in the background. With the cables Dedalus, instead, also the percussion section has reached amazing levels.

Andrea Review Dedalus
Andrea Review Dedalus
What were your
listening impressions?

I am not an audiophile, but I think I have a clear idea of what I am looking for in quality listening. The difference between the Primus cables and Dedalus was immediately obvious. I didn't use any measuring device other than my ear. The sonic transparency and precise detail is what struck me most about these cables. The only "instrumental" test able to confirm what I think are the VU Meters of the Teac power amp that, with the old cables, tended to be asynchronous, that is one remained lower than the other. Maybe due to the fact that from the preamp I feed both the power amp and the active sub, through a splitter. This probably caused a loss of current. But with Dedalus, the VU meter issue was also solved and now they both run in sync. The bass output from the sub is also very clear and precise. I don't get that 'slightly muddy' feeling in the bass anymore.

Your conclusions.

In my mind, I am convinced that the type of cable has a huge influence on the final product of an acoustic signal, be it Hi-Fi or other (e.g. musical instrument/amplifier). Therefore, I say with certainty that without good conductors, such as Ricable Dedalus , even the best Hi-Fi components will never be able to express their full potential. I'm saying something obvious, but that's the way it is.

What made you choose Ricable?

I was familiar with the company thanks to trade magazines, various internet forums of which I am a member and various videos that can be found on YouTube and on the web in general. An important aspect that made me approach these products is the fact that Ricable is a company that designs and manufactures entirely in Italy.

What do you think about the construction

In addition to the speed of delivery, I was immediately impressed by the packaging, which gives an idea of the care the company takes with its products. The cables immediately give an idea of the high quality of the cabling, the thick but at the same time very flexible braid and the BFA banana plugs that guarantee a perfect and firm connection.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

For the audio test, I simply replaced my cables that I had been using for a number of years with Dedalus and listened to a number of tracks that I use for comparison purposes, namely Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms and David Gilmour's Live at Pompeii. I also tested the cables with some jazzy Diana Krall music.

Review Claudio Dedalus Speaker
What were your
listening impressions?

From the very first listening I could notice a pleasant sound picture much more precise, with the position of all the instruments and the voices well defined and a depth of the sound scene that I would have never imagined to obtain only by replacing the cables Speaker . I also perceived something that, knowing the design philosophy that does not want to add or take away from the sound message, I would not have expected: a quality and presence of the low frequencies that is much more accentuated and, at the same time, more controlled.

Your conclusions.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend the purchase of these cables for the clear improvement in the performance of my Hi-Fi system that I have been able to notice since the beginning. The price is important, but the quality and the improvement of the performance are worth the money. Moreover, the idea of supporting a company that produces and designs its products entirely in Italy, especially in a particular moment like the one we are living, is a further incentive to choose these products.

Reviews on the internet, then real tests done at home by buying one at a time the various cables Ricable, both power and INTERCONNECT. The cables I have are Dedalus, both mains and interconnects, and Magnus, also both mains and interconnects. Perfectly packaged and very elegant, robust but very flexible cables, both the power and RCA cables, attractive aesthetics, very well made connectors with a secure grip. The cables are very thick but not scary, they bend well and can be inserted into every little nook and cranny without problems.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I had already done a reviewbut the system was not fully wired Ricable and was not the same as now. I changed the Audio Research tube amp from VT60 to VS110 and added another amp, Mark Levinson No 29, previously connected with its original XLR cable on the Carmac preamp side, now replaced with Dedalus RCA cable and Carmac adaptors.

What were your
listening impressions?

Now that the whole system is wired Ricable, the sound is much warmer, very deep bass and, as I said then, the thing that struck me the most is the silence, the absence of any harmonic useless for the sound, detail at the maximum levels, soundstage that has been raised frighteningly (I think, however, also thanks to the two new amps). The Mark Levinson, connected with its cable, was very detailed, almost cold. Changing cable with the Dedalus has added a warmth to the sound, almost valve-like, that wraps you even at the highest volumes. The VS110 amp is a pleasure to listen to, and replacing the Netzkabel has given it a much deeper and more controlled bass. Dynamics are excellent, as if the power cords Ricable bring more power, I don't know but it feels that way.

Your conclusions.

I'm very satisfied with the cabling Ricable, I've never tried more expensive cables, but in my opinion they are at the top (they don't cost little, to wire everything I went out of my pocket to get another amp), but they are worth all the money spent and much, much more. I must also thank the owner for his immense availability.

It starts well from the product packaging which is attractive and well cared for. The products are well constructed and very solid. The various mechanical contacts are well secured and guarantee an excellent connection to the electronics. The various cables are also very flexible, facilitating installation in tight spaces. Aesthetically, I find them really beautiful.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I started listening with the classic low-quality serial cables that are sold with the electronics. In sequence I went from Ricable Ultimate Signal, Ricable Magnus Signal and finally the Ricable Dedalus Signal. For the various cable changes I based myself on listening to albums that I know well.

I first noticed the changes when I switched from the basic cables to Ricable Ultimate Signal. The things that I noticed most in this transition were a better presence of detail and more order in the sound reproduction. Then I switched to Magnus Signal, and it was here that I started to notice the biggest differences. The thing that impressed me most was the reproduction of the midrange. Here I heard hidden details that I couldn't hear with the previous cables. Finally I moved on to Dedalus Signal. What can I say, amazing. Wide and well reconstructed musical scene. Detailed mids, never fatiguing highs and well defined and precise bass.

Your conclusions.

They are well-built products with an excellent quality/price ratio, and they are Made in Italy. Certainly, considering my personal experience, I feel like recommending this brand to others. What made you choose Ricable?

For some time I have been trying to improve part of my components, among which the cables Speaker ; I was coming from some basic cables by Transparent (sold by the metre) not bad but I was looking for something more. Searching on the net I came across Ricable; for some time I was uncertain between this company and another brand much advertised in various forums; the site, the few but good reviews, the Made in Italy and a certain something made me lean towards Ricable. Actually, I was oriented towards Magnus, I thought they were more proportionate to the commercial value of my system, then a good opportunity in the second-hand ... and I took the Dedalus.

Ricable Review Andrea
speaker dedalus
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

As soon as I opened the ordinary cardboard box containing the Dedalus package, I was genuinely surprised and amazed. The packaging is worthy of jewellery products! The first impression when I touched the cables was that they were solid, well finished and carefully constructed... they give a pleasant sense of reliability. Certainly they are not easy to hide, both for their size and for the rather garish colour, but this is an exquisitely aesthetic aspect that in some cases could be considered a merit.
I also liked the detail of the Velcro ties to hold the cables, rigorously branded with the Ricable logo. Even though I bought the cables used, it felt like a new product, both in terms of the packaging and the condition of the contents.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I plugged in the new cables and started listening to a range of music that I know particularly well, from pop-rock to jazz to classical, the latter two being the genres that I listen to the most. I didn't do any comparison tests with my old cables, I knew them quite well and the difference was immediate and so clear that I didn't feel the need for any further comparison.

Ricable Review Andrea
What were your
listening impressions?

Right from the start a number of differences, for the better, were evident compared to my previous equipment. The Dedalus brought out a more articulated and controlled bass range from my speakers, producing the perception of a greater importance of the low frequencies, and their greater intelligibility.
On the higher frequencies there was also a clear improvement, for example the cymbals of the drums or the hi-hat were more limpid, vivid and resonant in the listening room, as in air suspension, with a sound, especially when passing the brushes, pass me the term, "golden". The detail in general is much improved, a small anecdote: while listening to Blue in Green (in Kind of Blue, Miles Davis), towards the end of the piece, I noticed, for the first time, that the double bass makes the last beats played with the bow! What can I say, maybe I had never been so attentive to listening, but the effect of surprise and amazement at having noticed a 'new' sound in a piece that I had heard over and over again made me fall in love with Dedalus.

Your conclusions.

In conclusion, I can say that the whole sound range has improved; in general the sensation is that there has been an enrichment of the harmonics and therefore a more involving, warm and present sound. After what I've written, I can't help recommending these cables; with my system they have brought improvements that, frankly, I wouldn't have believed, obviously we're talking about nuances, but so evident that I think I've spent every penny well. Given the good experience I've had, I'm also planning to buy INTERCONNECT cables for my CD player. Ricable has made my listening sessions happier!

What made you choose Ricable?

I have read flattering reviews of your products on the net, together with a commendable customer caring service. I have followed with pleasure the review on YouTube by the friends of Audiofilando and an article on the cables Ricable published recently on the magazine "Suono".

Mauro Ricable Review
What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Excellent packaging in both an aesthetic and functional sense. Efficient and fast delivery. The construction highlights the presence of excellent connectors that immediately make you appreciate the product giving an immediate sense of reliability. The robustness of the connectors is combined with a welcome flexibility of the cable, despite its considerable section.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I tested the cable using various reference records, both in CD and vinyl format. The configurations have concerned various combinations in terms of possible uses in various devices of my system, with particular regard to the digital source, the preamplifier and the final amplifier. Finally, the tests have been carried out also in a comparative sense with similar products I already own.

Mauro Ricable Review
What were your
listening impressions?

It is an excellent product, which combines positive characteristics without characterizations of any kind and without evidence in some specific characterizations of the sound message, characteristics that I personally consider negative and harbingers of possible (and unwelcome) sound imbalances. The impression is therefore neutral, with a harmonic fabric rich in details without artificial hyperdefinitions. Excellent dynamics and general cleanliness of the sound message, thanks to an evident insensitivity of the cable to possible external interferences. The voices are beautiful, with a very welcome hint of "warmth".

Your conclusions.

Highly recommended product in various possible configurations of use. Excellent quality/price ratio, especially when compared with similar products of foreign brands.

The construction and manufacture of the cable are of an excellent standard. The materials are of good quality. The choice of colours is attractive. The connectors are solid and easy to use to connect the speakers to the amplifier. The packaging is robust and adequate. Nothing to report in this area.

How did you test for differences?

The tests were carried out over several listening sessions. Some with frequent changes of listening to the same tracks, others lasting longer, even several days before replacing the cable with the reference. I wanted to use all the time available to make sure I got the character of the Dedalus.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

For the listening tests I used only very good recordings, both in analogue and digital formats. Mainly female jazz vocals and jazz quartets as well as historical classical recordings. This is the music I normally listen to. Diana Krall, Patricia Barber, Sara K, but also Sade and Jacintha for vocals. Gerry Mulligan, Bill Evans, Miles Davis and Art Pepper for jazz. Historical RCA Living Stereo and Mercury recordings for classical.

Any differences from reference cables.
Did you find any?

The insertion of Dedalus is immediate from the very first moment. And this is not always a good start... The scene, the soundstage is very wide both in lateral sense and in depth. The high range is very present, but clear and terse, cold, in short. Voices are rich of harmonics and in focus but lose in body and depth in comparison with the reference. They are made smaller than the reference. The bass range is very controlled and especially fast. Extended and deep, but lacking in energy and warmth, too dry in the mid-bass and this characteristic is what takes away warmth from the reproduction. In prolonged sessions and at important levels, the listening fatigue makes itself felt.

The cable under test is an impeccably made cable, with high quality connectors and finished with an attractive yellow outer jacket. The cross-sectional area is large, but it has excellent flexibility. The connectors are clamped for optimal connection to all types of equipment.

How did you test for differences?

The listening sequences were carried out on the basis of a set of tracks, either alternating the cables at the end of the identified set, or alternating the cables track by track. This was done over several days to minimise listening variables.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The cable supplied by Ricable is a new cable, not broken in, which is why it was played for about forty hours before listening. The first sessions showed a warm sound, round, not too extended at the extremes but with a very good mid range, natural and round, very pleasant both with male and female voices. There's no harshness, as the high range is not in evidence, and no muddiness, as the bass range is not intrusive. The soundstage is wide, both frontally and laterally, giving a very good involvement.
The sound of the cable remained substantially the same up to about one hundred hours of use. After one hundred hours, the sound has perceptibly improved, especially in the bass range, where the body of the sound has appeared, finally, aligned to what has been shown by the reference cables. However, the sound remained quite closed, limited in extension, losing the finest details and what I like to call the "breath of the music". The transverse width of the soundstage also remained relatively limited, more confined near the head. The test was carried out using very well recorded classical, jazz and rock music, alternating the cables several times, to verify the repetitiveness of the sensations.

Any differences from reference cables.
Did you find any?

Compared to the reference cables there is a certain lack of resolution in the fine details of the high range, a sort of opacity that does not allow you to distinguish certain textures of the cymbals, lacking the magic that the reference cables are able to give. Also the bass and mid-bass range appear more backward, giving a very clean reproduction but not always with the necessary impact.
After one hundred hours of listening, the high range didn't open up as I would have liked, maintaining a sonority far from the detail proposed by the reference cables. The result is an incomplete sound, lacking of that refinement in the high range that the reference cables allow, without ever generating aggressiveness and listening annoyance. A pity, given the excellent level reached in the mid range.

We thank Gabriele for the time he has dedicated to us.

Construction and aesthetics. Did you find the cable solid and attractive?

The cable arrived in a beautiful case and immediately looks well made and aesthetically appealing with the orange cotton-look outer sheath. I like very much the connectors but, besides the aesthetic side, they are sturdy, very heavy and, once inserted the banana plugs of the loudspeakers connectors, they have a firm and very stable grip, something that I have not often found when it happened that some banana plugs, inserting them, got squashed, resulting slow and I was forced to widen them again. I tend to move the speakers before and at the end of listening sessions and no longer have to worry about the pin slipping out and endangering the amp.
The cable is a generously sized bipolar cable but is very flexible. It is not possible to view the cable as it is 'closed' by the connectors. As the speakers are bi-wired, I asked Ricable to send me their jumpers, also from the Dedalus series and terminated with spades; these are also excellently made and the spades is heavy and robust.

Review Gabriele Dedalus Speaker
Review Gabriele Dedalus Speaker
How did you test for differences?

The tests were carried out first of all on my main system, alternating different types of cable Speaker , conducted by four people at the same time and with blind listening, where one of us took turns replacing the cables, waiting a few minutes before listening, as it is a valve amp. CDs and vinyl were listened to.
The system consists of Graaf GM50 tube integrated amp, Aliante One Zeta Pininfarina loudspeakers, Marantz SA-KI Pearl Lite CD player, Thorens TD-125 MK1 turntable with SME 3009 S2 tonearm and Benz Micro ACE L\Denon DL-103R cartridge and DIY prephono with INTERCONNECT Kimber Kable cables and Wireworld power cables.
A short listening session has been made using as Amplifier a Unison Research Simply Two, but although the latter is very good, it doesn't interface well with the speakers, although the characteristics of the Dedalus have emerged also there and agree with the same results found with the Graaf.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

After a few days of break-in, I started to listen with a critical and attentive ear.
I must point out that, unlike the solid state amplifiers I previously owned, now with the Graaf the differences, although subtle between various cables I tried, were always audible.
My reference cables, since years, are the AudioQuest Rocket 88, but I also own the Wireworld Mini Eclipse single wire with jumpers and the cheap AudioQuest FLX 14/4 and the Van Den Hul CS-122.
With the Ricable I have gained a lot in the low range, now more present but controlled, and above all the mid/high range and the high range are now more present, vivid and the scene much wider. The presence of harmonics makes the instruments more "real", helping the listening and the general pleasantness.
For the test I have used some Original Master Recording CDs and SACDs, as well as some test CDs that you often hear at Hi-Fi fairs, or Peter Gabriel's OVO bass range or Nora Jones' SACD to test female voices.
On vinyl the excellent Analogue Productions pressing of Take Five where the Ricable made the double bass sound well focused, harmonic and present. The same was true with a Bill Ewans LP, At Shelly's Manne-Hole, and some Hi-Q Records vinyl of classical and symphonic music to test the soundstage width and dynamics.

Any differences from reference cables.
Did you find any?

As I said before, the Ricable have replaced the AudioQuest Rocket 88, which cost almost twice as much and were bi-wired with silver bananas; the latter are very silent, refined in the mid range, with a hyper controlled bass range and a deep soundstage. However, to my ear and to the ears of those present, they appeared too controlled, poor in harmonics and, above all, incredibly dark. Compared to the Ricable, we realized that we were listening to "part of the sound message", which lost musicality and, except for the voices that were very good and the refinement, the rest seemed lacking in everything.
The Wireworld Mini Eclipse single wire with jumpers are also very good cables, but unlike the Ricable 's, they didn't give that deep, controlled, extended bass range. They are much lighter. The high range sounded less articulate and beautiful.
The Van Den Hul CS-122 I keep in my drawer cannot be compared, too closed, dark and with bad focus. Rubbery bass range.
The AudioQuest FLX 14/4 are simple Speaker cables that I have not even compared, already at that time too poor in comparison with the AudioQuests.
I reiterate that the above is the result of several listening sessions carried out in different days and of tests made in the presence of other people who agreed with what stated above and, above all, at my home and on my system. Surely on other systems and other environments the judgements may not agree.

The following Feedback has been realized on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user has returned his impressions, in a way completely free.
We thank Alberto for his time.

Finally...

... after almost a month of cross-listening, I'm talking about the speaker cables Ricable, model Dedalus Speaker.

The comparison was made with my AM Audio branded litz cables, Ramm power supply and Zavfino. Ramm signal. With the following system: Balanced Audio Technology VK-300se amp, AQUA La Voce DAC and SOtM streamer with dedicated power supply. ProAc D Two loudspeakers on Music Tools stand.

These cables are very flexible and easy to handle, they have the bananas on both sides and are perfectly anchored, giving a sense of stability and exceptional grip... in short, they are beautiful to look at and very well made!

I have tried to do a methodical work, I have drawn up a playlist... quite long but with tracks that I know well and I have done a first listening with my cables, looking for merits and demerits, then, in a very superficial way, I have connected the Ricable and I have started to let them break in without giving too much weight to the listening but letting them play without thinking about anything. I must say that after several days the sound changed for the better!

I can say with some certainty that, knowing very well the sound of my set-up and having a trained ear, today I am able to pick up even the smallest differences... it is not presumption but experience matured with hundreds of hours of listening! What initially seemed to reveal a softened high range has instead turned out to be a high range with a linear and open response curve! Let me explain better, there are no steps between the mid-highs and the highs! While with the litz you can hear a step that, at an inattentive listening, deceives!

Actually, the one with the Ricable is a very linear and open high range that rises with a really pleasant perception, transparent but never harsh! On voices the difference is so clear that my partner has noticed it! She usually doesn't say anything but... she tells me: "The sound is more open and airy". The midrange is very fine and also allows a slight improvement on the imaging front, which is a little deeper and with well defined soundstages.

These cables have a characteristic! They allow more energy to pass through, as if the signal had increased, so the bass range is sharper and more powerful! More energetic! So beware: if there is a defect, it will be even sharper in the response with the Ricable ! They don't fix the sound, but in my opinion they make it reach the loudspeakers even sharper, so faults come and go! Obviously the same applies to the good.

Honestly, I didn't think I would find such clear differences... for me it has been an enlightening experience that, once again, has made me notice the differences between one cable and another, which are not exaggerated, but allow to reach at least a refinement of the ideal sound or, better, of our ideal sound. Cables don't work miracles, but they have to make sure that they don't alter the signal, and in my opinion these Ricable do!

So much so that I decided to keep them!

The following review of the cable INTERCONNECT Dedalus Coaxial is the result of the initiative "Prova un Ricable", born, in collaboration with listening groups or Hi-Fi forums, to collect testimonials from users, in their own reference Hi-Fi system. from the actual listening experience of the users, in their own Hi-Fi system of reference.
The following Feedback has been realized on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user has returned his impressions, in a way completely free.
We thank Enrico for his time.

Due to the limited time I can devote to music...

... when I work in the studio, I will have played about ten CDs in a year, and I have always used the NuPrime CDP-9 as a pre-amp DAC and almost never as a CD transport. Here, in what I call my second system, from Ricable, I use their U40 cable which is part of the production of cables Speaker Custom series and which I strongly suggest to try if you have a minimum of manual ability to assemble autonomously the spades/bananas at their ends, they are a best buy!

Back to the topic at hand, as I was saying, since in the studio while working it is more convenient to consume music via streaming, I decided to move this source to the main system and, wanting to use the digital output of this transport, I started looking for the right cable to connect it to the DAC via coax.

In the meantime I learned about the "Try a Ricable" initiative through the Gazebo Audiofilo forum and, since I already knew the quality of their cables as I also own some of their INTERCONNECT cables, the RCA RH1 , I immediately booked myself in to receive a nice Dedalus Coaxial DC1.

It is a decisive cable because it has to deal with flows coming from digital sources and has to work today as never before at sampling frequencies that are possibly higher than in the past, without losing information and protected from interference that could cause annoying glitches and consequent listening fatigue.

The guys at Ricable, after approving the request, very quickly delivered the Dedalus to me, which I was able to use and try out comfortably for a month, then decide whether to keep it at a 50% discount or return it, I stress, free of charge. I would therefore like to thank both the Gazebo and Ricable in advance, as this initiative made it easy for me to get what I was looking for.

Dedalus Coaxial Plant Henry
Dedalus Coaxial Plant Henry

Delivered to the house quickly, I didn't expect this, I had to wait a few days before opening the package which I found, although very well made and at the same time protective, in my opinion slightly oversized for just one cable. Melius est abundare quam deficere, someone used to say!

After unpacking everything, protecting the super pack from felines and brats, after a few ritual photos for the review I immediately connected the cable to the system and first of all I simply verified that the signal coming from the CDP hooked the DAC at the correct frequencies and up to the maximum resolution allowed by the latter, which is 192 kHz.

Although the CDP can work and scale up to 768kHz, I could not exceed the maximum sampling allowed by the DAC, the excellent Nuprime 10H, but there is no need here to go further with the sampling as it already far exceeds the resolution of normal Redbook CDs.

What I can tell you is that with Dedalus I have finally fully achieved my goal of listening to the CD collection on the main system consisting of a Nuprime/System Audio chain and fully wired Ricable.

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl, through Alquin to 1 Giant Leap, up to my wife's arrival with Cocteau Twins and Astronauts by The Lilac Time, the Dedalus Coaxial DC1 has always done its job brilliantly; for all its qualities I'll definitely keep it hooked up to the system at this point, thanks also to the generous promotion benefits Ricable.

Outstanding Ricable.

Customer Raffaele's test with and without power cables Dedalus

In spite of the already excellent product quality offered to customers, Ricable aims to keep improving. In addition to the focus on research and development, the lion's share of this is accounted for by customers. With their tests, with their feedback. It sometimes happens that one of them, who is particularly zealous, writes to us with his testimony in full. The last of these was Raffaele, whom we would like to thank, and who structured his review in a rather unusual way. On one side we have the test without Ricable cables, and on the other side the test with Ricablecables. Here is his test of the Dedalus mains cables.

The listening environment

I don't have a dedicated room for the system but I share the room with my wife and kids, so the speaker arrangement is the best possible compromise between them and me, as the speakers are also used for home theatre by moving the connectors. System:

  • Used Audio Research LS25MK2 Tube Preamplifier
  • Used Audio Research VT60 tube power amplifier 50 W RMS
  • Audio Research SP9MK2 tube preamp used only for phono
  • Meridian 206 1-bit CD player
  • Used Meridian 506 24-bit CD player
  • Used Sony ZA5ES DAT player
  • Used Piooner D-07 DAT player
  • Rega Planar 3 turntable new with new Goldring 2100 cartridge
  • Cambridge Audio CXN Network Player new
  • Opera Grand Mezza speakers new connected with Van den Hul cable
  • Vertical Solid Steel cabinet for space reasons

The system was assembled in its final form by replacing various parts over a few years (given the costs). RCA cables Ricable connect all Audio Research equipment and the two CD players. The cables Speaker Ricable connect all Audio Research equipment and the CD player 506.

raffaele plant test dedalus power supply

Test without cables Ricable

Wonderful sound typical Audio Research, soft, sweet, tube with a deep and controlled bass, wide scene, excellent dynamics, great detail, typical tube sound.

My grandfather and father and his brothers had a radio TV shop in the 1950s and they also repaired valves, so I know the tube sound well and it takes me back to when I was a kid.

But Audio Research does even better, it has impressive dynamics compared to other valve amps. I was already very very satisfied with the result, to be honest.

Try cables Ricable

The first sensation is silence, as if someone was talking in the room before and now has gone away, absolute silence, very still, wide soundstage, increased dynamics, more powerful and deeper bass and, as I have already read on the site in another review, it seems that the cables bring more power to my electronics.

Detail at the highest level, much better than before, high frequencies never annoying (I always listen at maximum volume when nobody is at home). The sound is as sweet as I like, with every kind of music there is no listening fatigue; I would stay for hours if I could.

But the silence is what impressed me the most; I can't quite explain it, but there is silence even if I set the volume to maximum. You should hear the controlled, powerful bass; the sofa shakes all over despite only 50 W and without a subwoofer.

I have to admit that the cables have made an impressive leap in quality and I confess I didn't believe it. I listen to all kinds of music but when I need to test the system I useo: Pink Floyd with The Wall, Dire Straits, Rage Against The Machine for metal and Jethro Tull.

plant raffaele prova

Conclusions

I've just finished two hours of listening and I'm fully satisfied, so at nose (but the cables are still to be broken in) it seems to me that the turntable is the one that has benefited the most, but the whole system has made a remarkable leap upwards; the Ricable Dedalus are the perfect complements for my system.

MI've already gone on too long and I don't want to bore you with listening details. The cables Ricable series Dedalus are excellent, they really do improve the system even for those who don't hear well, so they are highly recommended.

The cost (I've never tried more expensive cables, although in general it's not low) even becomes an insignificant detail compared to the physical and sound quality they bring. Let's not forget that despite their weight and size they are also very flexible. In the future I would like to finish all the wiring of the system... we'll see. In the meantime, many thanks to Mr. Modenesi for his great courtesy and availability. To buy with closed eyes.

We would actually like to thank our customer, Raffaele, for taking the time to write this testimonial about his tests. We hope you enjoyed reading this test of the Dedalus power cables.

electron proof mr zanetti

The return of Mr Zanetti: a technical and scientific test of the cables Ricable

There's no two without three, or maybe there's no three without four. Our affectionate customer Zanetti is back in the limelight with a new article in which he tells us about a series of tests and a test of the cables Ricable of a technical and scientific nature, with which he tested our series Dedalus and Invictus. For those who missed them, here are the links to the first e to the second instalmentfollowed by what was supposed to be his latest articleChristmas atmosphere. Fortunately, this was not the case. Happy reading with Mr Zanetti's story and his test of the cables Ricable!

The dance of electrons

So, in conclusion, I brought home from Mr Sergio: four power cables Dedalus, two balanced cables INTERCONNECT (one Invictus and one Dedalus), three HDMI cables and, last but not least, a pair of speaker cables Invictus.

Good for my ears, a little less so for my wallet. But you know, hobbies are hobbies. So my ears are satisfied, but is that really the case? I mean, from a technical and scientific point of view, will it be possible to objectively determine the quality of these cables?

"But what do you care?" my colleague and friend Alessandro tells me. "Why do you want to hammer your so-called if you are satisfied?". I think he's right! But... you know... appetite comes with eating! So I start to examine what I have. First of all I check whether the cable plugs Dedalus are screwed in properly; almost always yes. Sometimes I try to tighten them up a bit more.

These are the personal tastes of audiophiles who like to tinker.

cable test ricable zanetti
cable test ricable zanetti
cable test ricable zanetti
cable test ricable zanetti

Then, considering that the weight of the cable is considerable, I think about supporting it in the connections. But thinking and increasing the 'hammering', I say to myself: "But will the phase be correct?". I can easily determine the phase of the power socket with a phase finderbut will the phase of the equipment connected with the cable also be correct or not? Alessandro again: "What are you looking for? You sound like a nutcase... exactly".

But now the audiophile fever has taken over and I don't want to listen to reason. I search on the Internet and after several attempts I discover an Oehlbach power strip that has the possibility to connect in phase the equipment. Well, I buy it. Now I could be satisfied, but the "fever" won't let up.

I discover that there is also an accessory that facilitates the operation. I buy that too. Well, for a few days I was satisfied. To sum up: I checked the screws on the plugs and sockets, I supported the connections because of the heavy weight of the cable, I put the equipment in phase with the special toy; everything is ok.

A week goes by and the audiophile bug starts working again! "But" I say to myself, "from a strictly chemical-physical point of view, is it worth the money? I mean, is it a properly built cable?". Now my friend Alessandro gets really pissed off (and three)! I'll leave out the abuse he says. He will calm down later at home, listening to McIntosh and Sonus Faber. A few days go by and this time it is him who calls.

He tells me: 'I bought an accessory, a kind of pen, I strongly recommend you to buy it, trust me'. Damn it, he's fooled me, now he's feeding my audiophile bug! But first I enjoy the audio and video quality that comes out of the power strip. The power strip is sold without a cable and I plugged a normal one into it. It was fine. After a couple of days of fiddling with cables, I put a Dedalus Ricable into the power socket of the power strip and off I go.

In the evening, I switched on the TV (also connected to the power strip) and was amazed. I think: 'They have increased the intensity of the video signal, that's strange, I've never seen TV so well'. An hour goes by, but I'm not convinced. I look at the power strip and think: 'Did something change in the power supply? Of course, I have changed the cable! I don't believe it, so I put the normal electric cable back in and switch the TV on again. The quality has deteriorated.

But how is this possible! The cable is before the filter strip, how can this be? I change the cable again and the video quality increases! Try it for yourself! The cable Ricable which feeds the power strip has increased the video and audio quality considerably (picture 3).the video and audio quality (picture 3). Now I have to deal with this strange contraption that Alessandro advised me to buy sight unseen.

I go to Audioteka's website and read that the Swedish company SUPRA produces a small instrument to control the electric fields that can be radiated by power cables, power strips, fuses, electric distribution blocks and so on. "Minchia Mr. Lieutenant", I found what I was looking for! Now I'm going to fix Ricable ! I take the "pen", put it on the Dedalus. NOTHING!

It does not start and the buzzer does not sound. I try my black PCOCC cable: a disaster! The "pen" lights up and beeps. I try all the cables I have other than Ricable: they all sound and the "pen" always lights up! Now I am satisfied. These damn cables are a work of art. Whoever designed them should be awarded the Legion of Honour!

L.R. Zanetti

The 'pen' used is an electromagnetic field detector. In practice, when placed near a source of electromagnetic fields (such as electricity), the tip lights up. It is equipped with various sensitivities to intercept even the weakest electromagnetic fields. It is also an excellent tool for finding the phase of appliances, because where there is phase it lights up, where there is neutral it does not.

cable test ricable zanetti
cable test ricable zanetti
cable test ricable zanetti

In the test, it is evident that our cables do not give off any electromagnetic fields at maximum sensitivity. This means that they are better shielded and isolated than others. These fields coming out of the cable interfere with electronics and other signals in the chain and this is also why a good Netzkabel makes the difference. Finally, we would like to thank Mr. Zanetti for the fourth time for this test of the Ricable cables, thanks to which the Dedalus and Invictus series were put under stress, but came out victorious.

We thank Marco for his time.

When I received the box...

Robust, beautiful, and heavy cable. When I received the box I thought I had been sent an amplifier! First of all, a premise: the cable has been inserted in a chain composed as follows: SACD/CD player - headphone amplifier - headphones. The cable replaces the standard one and was tested in turn on:

  1. SACD/CD player with listen through the whole chain
  2. Headphone amplifier with whole-chain listening
  3. SACD/CD player with headphone output (without amplifier)

Initially I was impressed by the bass range that came to life. The aspects that showed changes to my ear, after repeated listening, are: the greater detail, the increase in dynamics, the greater speed, the articulation. I was particularly struck by the pianissimo which maintained articulation and musicality. All this gives me the impression of having turned up the volume slightly, everything flows easy, fast. The original cable seems darker, monotonous and certainly lacking in detail. These impressions are repeated as the three conditions mentioned above change, and the feeling, but it's only a feeling, is that the greatest effect is with the amplifier. I've listened to symphonies by Bruckner, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven piano concertos, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Ana Popović, Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa... Now I'm curious to listen to the set-up with both cables Dedalus; not only that, I'm curious aboutInvictus XLR! And... well, enough of that.

How did you test for differences?

The test was carried out over five days listening to music of various genres with vinyl, CD/SACD and liquid music for about ten hours via the USB port. Specifically, the cable was connected between:

  • Sony XA5400ES SACD/CD source vs. Threshold FET Ten/hl preamp.
  • Threshold FET Ten/hl preamp vs. Rotel RQ-970BX phono preamp.
  • Threshold FET Ten/hl preamplifier vs NAD C272 amplifier.

The rest of the system consists of:

  • Rega RP1 turntable with Elys2 cartridge.
  • Pioneer N-50 media player.
  • Mirage m3si diffuser.

All cables are Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista for both signal and power. Cablerie d'Eupen cable for the components power supplies and between the meter and the system socket. The listening room is a 10 m long by 4.5 m wide parallelepiped with an excellent acoustic absorption due mainly to curtains and furniture. Internal plasterboard walls. Speakers are spaced about 1.5 m from the back wall and exactly 2 m from each other.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The listening was immediately very pleasant in every combination and in every musical genre with a very good three-dimensionality of the sound and excellent precision of the sound figures placed inside the recorded musical event. Even with the most "difficult" CDs the cable has not made me regret my Nu-Vista hiding the possible defects of some recordings. In the end I'd say a precise and captivating sound. I used many tracks from various albums, choosing the shortest ones when possible. Listened to them alternating for each track first with the Nu-Vista and immediately after with the Dedalus between Pre vs SACD. The tests between the other components were performed only with a classical, a rock and a jazz track.

Any differences from reference cables.
Did you find any?

The only difference compared to the reference I use is the frequency extension both on the very low and very high frequencies; in fact with my reference CDs there was an evident lack in particular the SACD dedicated to Jerry Goldsmith's music. In my humble opinion, this is one of the CDs you absolutely have to have, recorded by Pentatone technicians on Telarc's order.

Mr Zanetti's review of cables Ricable Dedalus (Christmas special)

At least in theory, the odyssey of our client, Mr Zanetti, was supposed to consist of two episodes (for those who missed them: here are the links to the first e to the second). In practice, however, his vicissitudes involving also Ricable extended until almost Christmas, so much so that today we are publishing the story written by Zanetti himself regarding his experience with the cables of the Dedalus series, for what should really be the third and last episode of the story. Maybe. We wish you a good reading with what is a review of the cables Dedalus Ricable .

Yellow effect

After testing the blue cables (Invictus) I was deeply puzzled. How could I explain such a marked difference between my good good cables and these cables? I needed to consult a good classical physics textbook to clear up the "mystery". I needed to consult a good classical physics textbook to clear up the 'mystery'. My cables are self-made. I took into account the purity of the copper, the insulation against radio frequencies and the quality of the connectors. the quality of the connectors. Nowadays, all this is no longer sufficient for an informed audiophile.

At the very least, an 'active' noise reduction system should be added. Some will say, "What noise?". From physics we learn that the movement of electrons in a cable generates noise (noise)! Generally, for everyday use (lighting, domestic appliances, heating) this "noise" is ignored, but for more specialised uses (in measuring equipment, state-of-the-art analytical techniques, astronomy, etc.) it must be taken into account and tried to reduce it with more or less complex "filters".

If you look closely at the descriptions of the various types of cables Ricable you will find that a technique called: Ricable Noise Reduction is used, which translates as: noise reduction system Ricable. And what is used to do this? A germanium semiconductor (i.e. a transistor). This state-of-the-art technical device makes all the difference to a 'classic' cable. In high quality installations the difference is striking! After having clarified my ideas on the reason of such a relevant difference, I went back to Mr Sergio and bought, without trying them, three power cables, two cables INTERCONNECT and one cable Speaker (speakers). Having a limited budget I didn't buy the blue ones, but the yellow-orange ones.

speaker dedalus

I was theoretically sure that they would be fine (maybe!). I eagerly swapped them for mine and started listening with my reference files. I have to say that it went very well! The differences with the blues are there and could not be otherwise; but they are 'noble' differences. For example definition and accuracy of the mid-high frequencies is unattainable. The delicate golden hue of the brush strokes on drum cymbals diminishes a little with Dedalus. These differences are all in all acceptable given the price. Picking up Netzkabel you can immediately see the quality of the material: the cable is heavy! And not just a little.

The Schuko plug and IEC socket are of excellent quality and robustness. The speaker connections are secure and it takes a little effort to get them into the holes. So I changed the cables again! Let's hope that the technology of these 'things' doesn't change too quickly!

We would like to thank Mr Zanetti once again for this pre-Christmas testimonial, which is a full-fledged review of the cables Dedalus Ricable .

Review #2 - Netzkabel Dedalus Power - Try a Ricable

Construction and aesthetics. Did you find the cable solid and attractive?

For some time now, audiophilia has been experiencing an ever increasing topic of debate about the importance of cables in the complex system of the Hi-Fi chain that every enthusiast tries to realise to the best of his possibilities.
I have to admit that the topic has caught my interest since a short time ago, when friends started exchanging their cables, thus giving the possibility to test the reference system with different cables.
I follow Ricable just after a temporary exchange that made me come into possession of a balanced INTERCONNECT cable, which, replacing my usual RCA, from cd player to amplifier, had given very good results.
The power cables, on the other hand, I notice that they are perhaps less fascinating than the other categories, because their contribution to the best performance of the system inevitably clashes with the problems deriving from the home network, often disturbed and subject to unpleasant intensity changes. Hence the race for quality cabling, filters, space-age multi-sockets, which end up losing not only a lot of money but also the sense of the contribution that a Netzkabel can really make to good sound.
But, to tell the truth, Dedalus Power DP15 has amazed me for having immediately solved, as soon as it was installed, a problem that had been haunting me for a long time.
But let's go with order.
The cable arrived from Ricable very quickly after my decision to join the trial campaign. And it arrived in extremely high quality packaging. In spite of its considerable weight, I was surprised by its handiness, which allowed me to connect it with ease, even though I had a difficult space at the back between the electronics and the socket. Compared to the cable I usually use, of a well-known Dutch brand, Dedalus DP15 proved to be softer, even if it weighs almost twice as much.
The connectors have a solidity that I haven't found in other cables and in the above comparison Dedalus wins really easy.

How did you test for differences?

I wanted to try the cable first in connection with the CD player (Yamaha brand model CD-S2000, SACD player). I had no obvious impression of a difference with the cable I usually use, except for a sense of greater soundstage width, especially with classical performances.
But the real difference was when connecting the amplifier.
For some time now I've been suffering from an annoying hum on my amplifier (Audio Analogue brand, Puccini Anniversary model), imperceptible most of the time, but quite evident at certain times of the day, coinciding with mains overload, but also at night, maybe due to programmed power supply drops.
Well, as soon as I connected the amplifier to the mains via Dedalus, no more disturbance was perceived. This was a great relief to me.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

I was talking about a wider sound, especially in classical pieces: Sakamoto's piano in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and Debussy's Clair de lune filled the room, according to a three-dimensionality that, paradoxically, seemed more evident at medium-low volume than at higher volume.
Here is a sensation, which became tangible, physical, as my finger no longer sought the volume knob. Dedalus allowed me to listen excellently at low volumes, especially in pop rock songs: Magic by Coldplay, as well as Wonderwall by Oasis did not require the usual volumes I was used to, but could spread all their energy even at a limited volume.

Any differences from reference cables.
Did you find any?

Well, I think that what you can ask from a Netzkabel, Dedalus guarantees it, in terms of handling, construction care, physical importance of the connectors and their sure effect on the cleanliness of the current delivered to the electronics. The effects on the sound, although subjective, can only be the logical consequence of the above.
The silence of the stand-by, no longer corrupted by the annoying buzzing that haunted me, is the evidence that, more than any other, I would have wanted. And Dedalus DP15 gave it to me.
