The following review of the Invictus Signal cable is the result of an initiative born with the collaboration of the French Facebook group "Audiophile francophone et haute-fidélité". The initiative was born to collect feedback from audiophilesThe aim of the initiative was to collect ideas for a continuous improvement of the products in the catalogue. Audiophiles received their chosen cable at home and had thirty days to carry out as many tests as they deemed appropriate. At the end of this period, audiophiles could decide whether to keep the cable or return it at no cost.

Après un échange très cordial avec Ricable par e-mail, lors d’une opération de Prêt contre Review/Test, je me décide à jouer le jeu. A la recherche de repères pour mes câbles RCA, reliant dans mon cas un Streamer/DAC à un ampli intégré, je suis convaincu par l’approche “conviviale” et transparente de Ricable.
Je possède déjà une paire de câbles italiens d’une marque moins connue distribuée en France (ALEF). Ils m’apportent grande satisfaction, mais les ayant acquis en même temps qu’un changement d’électronique, c’est toujours délicat de se faire une opinion précise de l’apport du câble lui-même.
De plus, une écoute récente de mes câbles sur un autre système m'ayant fortement déçu, je finis donc de challenger mes propres RCA. Quel meilleur moyen que de tester une autre chose, dans le confort de son appareil et de son système, alors...?
Je commande le plus haut de la gamme, les Invictus Signal RCA, longueur 1 m, commercialisés au prix de 490 euros au catalogue. J'essaye par ce choix de faire un test comparatif cohérent, soloment basé sur la gamme de prix (les miens étant aux alentours de 750 euros). La partie commande et logistique se passe comme sur des roulettes, et les câbles m'arrivent en parfait état de conditionnement, en à peine quelques jours...
Un packaging propre et simple, mais qui me donne un peu de fil à retordre pour sortir la boite cartonnée de son étui. Au moins le câble est bien protégé.
Écoute: je procède à pas mal d'écoutes A/B en switchant régulièrement sur les mêmes titres habituels dans mes tests. J'essaye ensuite de passer une semaine entière uniquement sur les câbles Ricable, puis de revenir sur les miens.
Les conclusions en variant les genres musicaux: les Invictus sont sans aucun doute d'excellents câbles dans leur gamme de prix, et difficilement battables avec la remise consentie par Ricable lors de cette opération promo.
Ils sont extrêmement bien fabriqués, ça sentit la solidité, pas de dénudage prématuré à prévoir, les fiches bananes sont très douces mais s'enfichent fermement et bénéficient d'un serrage par vissage. Ils sont assez épais mais néanmoins un peu plus souples que les miens. Dès les premières minutes, c'est surtout la scène sonore qui me frappe: large ET profonde. Si je reste sur l'impression qu'elle est bien plus vaste que celle que je connais, après quelques aller/retours, il s'en faut de peu, mais les 2 marques/modèles jouent dans la même cour en réalité.
Concernant les timbres, rien à noter de spécifique, je retrouve la signature de mon amplification à tubes intacte.
Respect des électroniques donc. Je trouve l'écoute agréable et pas fatiguante, un très beau médium.
En passant sur des genres musclés plus musclés, l'Invictus accuse un retard sur mes ALEF: ça descend moins bas et ca monte moins haut, le spectre semble un peu raboté en ses extrémités. Cela enlève un peu d'assise sur certains morceaux, moins acoustiques/intimistes. Je n'irai pas jusqu'à dire que le spectre est déséquilibré cependant.
Les Invictus Signal sont de très bons cables, fabriqués très proprement, l'esprit de la sté Ricable me plaît, ils délivrent une écoute très agréable, équilibrée et respectent les composants en amont. I therefore strongly recommend them to anyone who owns a good system that has evolved but who would have stayed with RCAs that are more entry-level in the range; they are a perfect evolution/makeover.

After a very cordial exchange with Ricable via e-mail, during a Loan vs. Review/Test, I decided to play along. Looking for benchmarks for my RCA cables, connecting in my case a Streamer/DAC to an integrated amplifier, I am convinced by the "friendly" and transparent approach of Ricable.
I already have a couple of Italian cables of a less known brand distributed in France (ALEF). They give me great satisfaction, but having acquired them at the same time as a change of electronics, it is always difficult to form a precise opinion on the contribution of the cable itself.
Also, a recent listen to my cables on another system disappointed me greatly, so I ended up challenging my RCA. What better way than to test something else, from the comfort of your own device and system, then...?
I order the top of the range, theInvictus Signal RCA, 1 m long, sold at a catalogue price of 490 euros. With this choice I try to make a consistent comparison test, based only on the price range (mine is around 750 euro). The ordering and logistics went like clockwork and the cables arrived in perfect condition, within days...
The packaging is clean and simple, but I find it a little difficult to take the cardboard box out of its case. At least the cable is well protected.
Listening: I do a lot of A/B listening, regularly switching to the same tracks in my tests. Then I try to spend a whole week just on the Ricable cables, then back to mine.
Conclusions varying musical genres: the Invictus are without doubt very good cables in their price range, and hard to beat with the discount given by Ricable during this promotional operation.
They are extremely well made, feel solid, don't expect premature stripping, and the banana plugs are very soft but connect firmly and benefit from being screwed on. They are quite thick but still a little more flexible than mine. From the very first minutes, it is above all the soundstage that strikes me: wide AND deep. If I stay with the impression that it is much bigger than the one I know, after a few turns it is anything but, but the 2 makes/models are actually playing on the same field.
As for timbres, nothing specific to note, I find the timbre of my valve amplification intact. Respect for the electronics then. I find the listening pleasant and not tiring, a very nice medium.
Moving on to more "muscular" music, theInvictus lags behind my ALEFs: it goes down less in the bass and goes up less in the treble, the spectrum seems a bit planed at its ends.
This removes a bit of depth on some tracks, which are less acoustic/intimate. However, I would not say that the spectrum is unbalanced.
The Invictus Signal are very good cables, very cleanly made, I like the spirit of the company Ricable, they offer a very pleasant and balanced listening experience and respect the upstream components. So I highly recommend them to anyone with a good system that has evolved but would have remained at the level of entry level RCA cables, they are a perfect evolution/upgrade.
