Driven by past experiences I decide to buy, also for the video section, some cables Ricable considering the recent upgrade. The attention is directed on the HDMI cable in question, which has the difficult task of transmitting to the Sony OLED 77″ the audio and video stream output from the Panasonic UB9000. I want to disprove the rumors about the HDMI connectors, although not as tangible as analog, can give an extra gear in both the video and audio section, and when you have to convey signals in 4K from Blu-ray and then transport a huge amount of data per second, they are crucial, calculating the excellent price then at which they are sold, I see no reason to do without, regardless of the AV chain that you have. Comfortable and versatile, they allow an excellent flexion even in the most desperate cases. And if the excellent workmanship of the cable wasn't enough, consider also the lifetime warranty, the excellent after-sales service, the speed of shipping and the attention that a company like Ricable has always had towards their customers.
and aesthetics of the product?
The product is solid and well built, the connectors are not bulky and, on the contrary, allow a firm fixing without occupying too much the back of the electronic equipment. The cable is soft enough to allow even the most difficult bends and the available cuts already serve most users.
I have connected the cable to a 77″ Sony OLED to allow the transmission of films from the Panasonic UB9000. Without any calibration I have immediately noticed a totally different colouration, a better fluidity in the scenes but, what has struck me even more, is the difference in the listening: incredible how a cable, all in all dedicated to the video section, is able to give prominence also to the audio part. Test disc: The Dark Side of the Moon in Blu-ray with DTS-HD Master 5.1 encoding. The choice is obvious, but that multichannel mix is ideal (as for the stereo counterpart) for the cartridge.
listening impressions?
In one word: detail. An HDMI cable has to convey an incredible amount of information and maybe it is the cable that needs more attention nowadays, also thanks to the multichannel versions of many albums and concerts. The sound, as I said, is much more detailed, not at all tiring, the separation of the instruments is highlighted and the soundstage acquires a more defined position in front of us. What I like is the sincerity of the cable, let me explain better: this cable does not hide anything, it does not create artifices, neither of image nor at a musical level, it gives back the flow as it has been conceived.
Your conclusions.
A cable to buy with your eyes closed, both for the excellent workmanship and for the incredible quality made available in relation to the price at which it is proposed. In the myriad of proposals that we can find today on the net, I found in this company concreteness and fast assistance, and for these two factors alone I am decided to come back for my next components.
