The following review of the Primus Power cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to lead to continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. Last but not least, those who join the program receive a certificate at home, with the purpose of certifying how the customer has become to all intents and purposes part of the " Ricable" family.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a completely free. We thank Klaus for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I am already a long time customer Ricable, having purchased cables INTERCONNECT, and speaker cables, although only Custom type. A few days ago a friend suggested that I do some power cable testing with his new Ricable Primus Power. Until now I had only tried rather cheap or DIY cables.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics
of the product?

Extremely well made, solid and flexible at the same time; gives a truly remarkable feeling of "serious" sturdiness. The connectors are just perfect for solidity of insertion and stability. They insert with a bit of pressure, but once inserted, you can feel that the grip is really remarkable and there is no risk of the cable coming loose without deliberate intervention.

How did you carry out the tests? What tracks did you use to test the cable?

We had a very long session, both listening to very familiar tunes and letting music change freely in search of listening pleasure. Changing the cables was done over and over again just to check their effectiveness. At the end of the session we also did a double-blind test where the chosen listener indicated his or her impressions without knowing which cable was being used at that time.

What were your
listening impressions?

Guys-what can I say? The improvement has been more than noticeable. The aspect that seems most remarkable to me is the very sharp decrease of certain roughness in mid-high frequencies, which with the comparison cables (Ricable Custom, various DIY cables based on TNT design, both using braided mains cables and 3×4 mm² shielded cables) on certain instruments (violin, organ) were "pungent" and almost annoying. With the Primus everything becomes more musical and euphonious, with even greater detail on the highest frequencies. Not to mention that the soundstage increases its size by at least 30 percent, leaving all the instruments more still and greatly increasing the effect of "air" between the instruments themselves!
To conclude: in the "blind" test, the tester recognized without hesitation the presence or absence of the Primus in the listening chain!

Your conclusions.

The power cord often has more influence on the final result than the cables Speaker . I really did not believe that this item could have this "weight" in improving the sound obtained. I am now waiting for my friend to bring me his Ricable Magnus , about which he speaks very highly of me, saying that in his opinion it is still clearly superior to the Primus.
