The following review of Primus Speaker cables and Magnus Jack 3.5 extension cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to bring about continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. Last but not least, those who join the program receive a certificate at home, with the purpose of certifying how the customer has become to all intents and purposes part of the " Ricable" family.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a manner completely free. We thank Andrew for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

When I was talking to Ruud van Omera in Vlaardingen (the Netherlands) about cables for my new set, he came up with Ricable. I had never heard of it, but Ruud indicated that they are high quality cables for a reasonable price. In the end, it turned out to be the icing on the cake. I have speaker cables and an extension cable for my headphones and I don't regret it for a second. They definitely add value to my set and my headphones. With other brands you pay much, much more for the same quality.

What do you think about the construction
and the aesthetics of the product?

Ruud showed me and I felt the speaker cables and I was immediately impressed. They look fantastic, make a solid impression and make you feel like you are using cables that are many times more expensive. The banana plugs are of good quality and the workmanship is really very good. The extension cable is also fantastic and feels very solid. The packaging has also been thought through and there you can also see the typical Italian craftsmanship.

How did you carry out the tests? What songs did you use to test the cable?

I bought the speaker cables without listening on the advice of Ruud and was therefore a bit of a gamble. When I had connected them to my new set at home, I let the whole set play for about 30 hours without listening properly. After these 30 hours I sat down and the combination as it is at home sounds really fantastic. All components come into their own and reinforce each other.
The extension cable for my headphones is really great. When I first got the Focal Elegia I only played with the supplied 1.20 m cable from Focal. When I put in the Ricable extension cable and started listening I was quite surprised. It was more depth and detail in the music. It sounded even more balanced.I am really happy with these purchases.

What were yours
listening impressions?

My taste in music is very diverse. From light jazz, soft pop, blues, soul, rock and everything that comes close to it. I particularly prefer the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s of the last century. I listened a lot to my set and also a lot with my headphones. Both with great pleasure, it really sounds great. In the beginning I listened a lot to You and Your Friend by the Dire Straits and WOW what sounds good. Lots of details, depth and the atmosphere was well displayed. In the beginning I listened a lot to the song Leipe Shit Ouwe! from Bl3nder. Bl3nder is a collaboration between the Bas van Lier trio and Def P. Swinging jazz and a rapper. It's a band from Amsterdam and it's in Dutch but go and listen 🙂 So good, it's not normal. This song contains a lot of bass that is played by a double bass, something that can be difficult for an installation, but it really sounds great.
Slowly I started to listen more and more to other music such as Marcus Miller, Al Jarreau and Steve Gadd. I was getting happier and happier. When I later turned on Roger Waters and Eva Cassidy, the smile on my face only got bigger. It is a modest set that I have but it is all right. I couldn't get better for the money I spent. Open, clear and neutral sound that fills my living room with a warm blanket of music. I'm very satisfied.

Your conclusions.

Of course there are many other cables on the market, but if you are looking for high quality cables for an affordable price that also look good, I can really recommend any Ricable. The price-quality ratio is really great. I would therefore like to thank Ruud van Omera for recommending Ricable. If I ever upgrade my set, I will definitely think of Ricable when it comes to cables.
