It is well known that cable quality is fundamental in a Hi-Fi system; any system, even a Hi-End one, without quality cables, cannot express its real potential. It's like having a super sports car with bad tyres. With this in mind, I decided to invest some money in quality cables. I searched the internet for the various products available on the market and read a few reviews. In my search I found Ricable which, being an Italian brand, immediately got my attention. I carefully read the various features of all their products, from Hi-End to entry level, and in the end I decided to trust them; let's say that the first purchase was a leap in the dark.
and aesthetics of the product?
The first thing that struck me once I unwrapped the package was the beautiful box containing the cables, very well cared for, both in terms of graphics and material, in short it is not the usual cardboard box made at a discount. As for the cables, what can I say, they are beautiful to look at and as soon as you take them in your hands you immediately understand the level of construction quality. The connectors are a spectacle, they have an exceptional tightening system, in fact they are equipped with an external shell that before the insertion of the connector has to be unscrewed and then screwed again to tighten the ground rings, really well made.
Once all the cables were in place and all the necessary connections made, I started my listening test with tracks with a high level recording and that I know perfectly, such as Private Investigations by Dire Straits; I then continued my listening test with tracks that made me appreciate the quality of the bass, such as The Sea by ARY.
listening impressions?
I must say that I am not an expert and refined audiophile, and I don't think I am up to making a high level review. The only thing I can do is to report what I have perceived with respect to when my system was playing with the cables that are supplied when I bought the various components. The thing that struck me more and that I perceived better was the so-called sound staging, in the sense that now I can better locate from where that instrument or that voice is reproduced, I don't know how to explain, I would say that the scene is more centered.
Your conclusions.
I am very satisfied with my investment. When I bought the cables Ricable, as I have already said, it was a leap in the dark and honestly I was a bit afraid of having spent money in vain, but after listening I breathed a sigh of relief, so much so that soon I will complete my "cable park" by buying the power cables, which are now the only accessories Ricable that I lack.
Good morning, I would like to say to Roberto C. that
the plane on which the speakers and, it seems to me, the electronics rest, is itself an amplifier of the waves emitted by the speakers, thus radically thwarting any good intentions. Am I wrong?
Claudio Telli
Hi Claudio, you're right, but I think that in this case Mr Roberto had to make compromises with the room available and the positioning of all the electroacoustics in the room. As you can see, he has come up with solutions to reduce the reverberations in the room to a minimum. Among other things, the loudspeakers are well spaced from the back wall, with a good decoupling from the floor and with a not too important litre capacity. We will point out your comment to Mr Roberto and if he wants he can answer you directly, because this is our interpretation.
