The following review of Primus Signal and Speaker MKII cables is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Having an entry level system to which I had never replaced anything and with "makeshift" cables I simply wanted to increase the quality. After a little web search I happened upon your official page and with a parallel search for reviews I chose your products. I contacted your customer service via WhatsApp who promptly and kindly answered my also quite idiotic questions, but I have no expertise in the matter and they recommended in addition to the amplifier speaker cable also the CD player speaker cable. Unfortunately, my turntable does not allow cable replacement!
and aesthetics of the product?
The packages are beautiful. The cables, well, aesthetically stunning, little to say. Compared to what I had before, there is no comparison. They are ten times bigger. The white and green are a great choice and look very good in my system. You can see from the photos that the custom furniture I had made provides two niches in which to put the amplifiers "at rest" however for better listening I advance them and put them closer to the listener so the cables show and look very nice.
Because the wires are banana plugs, I had to remove the speaker caps and also the caps on the amplifier and CD player. Here again your WhatsApp service was very prompt, careful and kind in showing me the best way to do it. Because with my inexperience I really didn't know how to do it, I didn't even know it could be done. It took me a few seconds to insert them because they are quite important as bananas but the whole thing went well. And, yes, I listened to a couple of songs with my turntable and especially with the CD player with the new cable and compared to before there is no comparison.
listening impressions?
As a first step, I listened to a couple of turntables. One of jazz and one of metal, which are the genres that I thought would best render the new sound. Specifically a Megadeth track came out with much deeper bass and much more prominent drums. Of jazz, I listened to Alice Coltrane. I listened to Illuminations and Carlos Santana's guitar acquired a crystal clear sound and the a cappella vocals much clearer. As I wrote further up there is no comparison: the speakers sound new, but it is really the new cable. I am very happy because now having also changed the furniture to better aesthetically enhance the whole Hi-Fi system is really another world. The only flaw is that since I don't have a turntable to which the cable can be changed, either I change the turntable or I think it is the weak link in the whole system.
Your conclusions.
For those of you reading, I would absolutely recommend Ricable. From the support via WhatsApp that was absolutely free and made it clear to me step by step what was best for my situation, to the product itself that arrived very quickly via courier (like two days after ordering), to the wonderful sound production that I can now finally enjoy. I also have to keep the volume low such is the crystal clear power I now have. My review is overwhelmingly positive.
