What made you choose Ricable?

I was looking for a well-made product with nice aesthetics that also guaranteed a higher level in terms of audio quality than the cheaper products found on the net. Research revealed Ricable Primus Signal as a quality entry-level product, so I wanted to test it.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

Impeccable construction, quality of materials used high considering the price. Very nice and sturdy stocking adopted. Flexibility is very good for the purchased length of one meter. The connectors have a very good grip without becoming difficult to connect/disconnect and are very aesthetically pleasing. Opening the connector shows that the attachment of the copper to the connector is very clean and well made.

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

The test was performed with tracks I am familiar with using:

  • SACD:
    • tested using the DAC that equips the streamer, DAC type Dual Wolfson WM8740. Primus Signals were used to connect the streamer to the amplifier;
    • Primus Signals were used to connect the player to the amplifier via analog signal.
  • Turntable: signal cables were used to connect the phono preamp to the amplifier;
  • Streamer: signal cables were used to connect the streamer to the amplifier in analog.

What were your
listening impressions?

Honestly I have to admit that I don't have great terms of comparison in terms of audio quality, but the feeling the cables give back is a very detailed and precise, almost dry sound perfect for improving bass control in my environment. Even going up with the volume they maintain good detail particularly in the mid-bass frequencies and make the rather muddy background noise that, in the past, I have encountered in listening, using the basic cables, disappear. The listening remains, however, while detailed, always very natural and never cold.

Your conclusions.

I recommend the cable to those who want to discover the effects of cables on fine tuning the system. Because of the excellent results found on an entry level cable such as the Primus I have purchased other products Ricable. However, I think that for the current system the Primus series is more than fine, but as I grow in level I will also raise the level of the cables. Ricable an all-Italian guarantee.
