The following review of the Invictus Sub cable is the result of the "Ricable Review" initiative. Ricable Review is the program designed by Ricable, created to collect feedback from audiophiles, in order to lead to continuous improvement of the products in the catalog. Last but not least, those who join the program receive a certificate at home, with the purpose of certifying how the customer has become to all intents and purposes part of the " Ricable" family.
The following Feedback was created on the basis of a predefined questionnaire to which the user returned their impressions, in a completely free. We thank Fabio for his time.

What made you choose Ricable?

I am a loyal customer of Ricable and came to the Invictus series cables by way of Primus, Magnus, Dedalus so I have tested all levels of cable quality up to the top of the range, I have already explained the reasons for approaching this wonderful company in my previous review on the cables Invictus Power. Since I had not yet settled on a wiring INTERCONNECT for my subwoofers I first tried the Primus Subs, immediately replaced with the Magnus Subs, then I tried the Dedalus Subs but still had not found the synergy I was looking for. Eventually I decided to invest a substantial amount of money to purchase a pair of Invictus Subs and a world opened up.

What do you think about the construction
and aesthetics of the product?

The cable is royally constructed, well cared for, sturdy, and pleasing; then the midnight blue color is already an omen for what will be the performance of this jaw-dropping sub cable. The premium-quality plugs are, in addition to beautiful, extremely effective from the point of view of tightening and thus contact, the flexibility is excellent, and the packaging, as usual by the company's standards, looks like jewelry packaging...

How did you carry out the tests? Which songs did you use to test the cable?

For my tests as usual I listen to a mixture of pieces that touch on all styles of music in order to have as many situations as possible to test the cable; in this case, the subs being the object of the test, I looked for pieces of drums, organ, double bass, electronic effects, bass pedalboard, and low-frequency details. This was to have a way to test frequency extension, damping and speed, harmonic content, and room content, which is one of the first things a good sub (indeed a pair) must do once inserted into a system with Hi-End characteristics.

What were your
listening impressions?

Removed the previous cable from a competing brand, and put in the Invictus, unlike the previous series, the subs were transformed... the extension went all the way to the extreme low end with impressive sharpness (my subs go to 19 Hz at -3 dB) with a contoured, clean bass like I had never heard; the strength and impact increased by 20% but with an amazing firmness and control, the harmonic content of the bass instruments increased in definition and naturalness therefore in pleasantness, it sounded as if I had changed subwoofers by taking equipment costing three times as much, all the tests were done in the company of my closest audiophile friend to share the impressions and he too noted such improvements. Incredulous we took out theInvictus Sub and put in a Invictus Signal but all the magic disappeared, in fact, it was not even balanced... so I put the Invictus Subs back in and everything fell into place again, especially a physical dimension of the room where the recording was taking place perceptible in a clear way, almost like a big ambient breath.

Your conclusions.

I am extremely happy to have purchased this pair of subwoofer-specific cables, and for audiophiles who maniacally attend to the amalgamation of subwoofers with the main speakers, trying to get the most real about the frequency response and the actual size of instruments and rooms, I can only suggest the purchase of these cables because they add an extra edge to subwoofers, provided they are of superlative quality. I would never have imagined that a INTERCONNECT cable that in my case only works for one octave (my subwoofers are cut at 41 Hz at 24 dB/oct) could have an enhancing effect of this magnitude.
